Methane fermentation of unused plant biomass
Methane fermentation of various plant biomass, including paper, wood, rice straw, rice hulls, common reed, wild rice and two kinds of weed, was investigated in a batch vial test. Gompertz model fit the experimental data well, and was used to estimate the maximum methane potential and so on. Paper showed the highest methane conversion efficiency of 87% (based on CODcr), while rice hulls and wild rice the lowest of 25%. It is concluded that the biomass studied can be used as part of feed for existing methane fermentation facilities.departmental bulletin pape
Analysis of High Voltage on Crane Hook Owing to Radio Wave by FDTD method
When a large crane is used near a radio broadcasting antenna it operates as an effective receiving antenna and a voltage is induced at the crane hook, which gives a worker an electric shock and makes an obstacle their work. The voltage and a current distribution on a hoist cable, a boom, and a mast of the crane are analyzed by FDTD method. As the result an equivalent circuit of the crane on which the high voltage is generated becomes a parallel resonance circuit. This paper shows the result of the analysis.departmental bulletin pape
About practice education of the information system construction in the university
About architectural upper reaches process phase of the information system, We carry out practice of the requirements definition to a student without the systems construction experience. In real information system construction, a gap occurs in a part and information system of the requirements definition after system completion and may become the problem. The vague part of the specifications in the requirements definition phase of the process of the system development of upper reaches is left, and this is succeeded to a system details design and the software development of the back process and a test phase and has a big influence on quality of the whole information system, cost, the appointed date of delivery. We propose about a remedy of a lecture and the practice to deepen the understanding of the process phase of upper reaches to a student by the lecture of the university.departmental bulletin pape
A Comparative study on Grammarticalization of Post-verb in Composite Verb between Japanese and Chinese Taking `V-ageru' and `V-shang' for an Example
Grammaticalization is defined as the development from lexical to grammatical forms and from grammatical to even more grammatical forms. Composite words like `V-ageru' in Japanese and `V-shang' in Chinese are similar in their composition and meaning. Owing to their high frequency in these two languages, they have a high degree of gramarticalization. While, what are their differences in grammarticalization? Therefore, in order to solve this problem, in this paper, the author tries to set up a standard of comparative in grammaticalization so as to compare their differences in expressive function and grammartic function between Japanese and Chinese.departmental bulletin pape
Laser Two-photon Ionization of Naphthalene in the presence of Cyclodextrins
Formation and decay of naphthalene (NP) radical cation and solvated electron during resonant two-photon ionizations (TPI) of NP in the absence and presence of cyclodextrins were studied with transient absorption measurement using 266-nm laser flash photolysis technique. Ionization of NP occurred within the laser flash (5 ns) to give NP radical cation (NP-+) and solvated electron were observed at 720 nm in the presence of α-, β-, mβ -, and γ-cyclodextrins (αCD, βCD, mβCD, and γCD, respectively) in water solvent. The TPI of NP was examined formation of NP-+ and solvated electron in the cavity of mβCD and γCD having dimer structure of NP showed the excimer band around 420 nm, while Np in the cavity of two αCD is indicated. Selective ionization of NP and NP2 in the cavity of two αCD and one βCD, and one mβCD and one γCD are explained by direct TPI within a laser flash, respectively.departmental bulletin pape
About promotion of efficiency of the requirements definition in the upper reaches of the systems construction
In the present system development, the requirements definition is very important. Many causes are it in a cause for requirements definition by the project break of the system development. In addition, improvement of precision and the speed of the requirements definition is promotion of efficiency of the overall work and reduction of the cost. This report examined improvement of the promotion of efficiency about the requirements definition.departmental bulletin pape
Photo-excited state and its relaxation of Sm2+ in Al2O3-SiO2
Fluorescene and optical excitation spectra of the Sm2+and Sm3+ in Al2O3-SiO2 glasses prepared by the sol-gel method are investigated. When the Sm3+-doped glass is heated in H2, the Sm3+ ions are reduced to the Sm2+ ions. This article represents optical properties of Sm2+ in the glass. The energy structure correlated with 4f-5d transition of Sm2+ ions will also be discussed.departmental bulletin pape
Exhaust Gas Characteristic of Diesel Engine by Using Bio Fuel and Emulsified Fuel
BDF (Bio Diesel Fuel) contributes to reducing the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere because it is a carbon neutral fuel. However, the use of BDF increases NOX emission from diesel engines, though the generation of PM (Particulate Matters) is controlled by the oxygen content in the BDF. On the other hand, emulsified fuel, emulsion of water in light oil, has been expected to have an effect on the simultaneous reduction of those emission gases, but its use has not spread. In this paper, the BDF and emulsified fuel are applied to a diesel engine for the purpose of reducing emissions by the fuel which is usable without remodeling the engine, and the exhaust gas characteristic has been examined. As a result, it is clarified that these fuels are effective for the exhaust gas purification.departmental bulletin pape
A Mechanism of a Flow Control in a Network using a PEP and Its Performance Evaluation
In IP networks, where bandwidth-delay product is large, a PEP (Performance Enhancing Proxy) is effective for improving the performance of TCP. The PEP splits an end-to-end TCP connection into two parts; it forwards received data from one TCP connection to another. If the maximum throughput of one TCP connection is larger than the other, the PEP has to buffer forwarding data and perform a flow control to adjust the throughput. To confirm the mechanism of the flow control and to evaluate the required volume of buffers, we investigate the flow control by experiments using Linux and report their results.departmental bulletin pape
Impact Oscillations with Multiple Modes between a Pantograph and an Overhead Rigid Conductor Line in a Railway Current Collection System (Effect of Pantograph Elastic Behavior on Impact Oscillations)
A theoretical and experimental investigation was conducted into impact oscillations between a pantograph and an overhead rigid conductor line in a railway current collecting system. The contact problem was modeled as impact oscillations of a beam with a sinusoidal vibrating plate were theoretically examined. The impact relations are derived considering the effects of multiple modes vibrations. Using some of the concepts behind periodic oscillations, qualitatively distinct impact oscillations of the beam with multiple modes are clarified. The interactions between the lowest two modes during the impacts are also discussed. Moreover, we conducted an experiment using a similar model based on the analytical model. Qualitative agreement was demonstrated between the experimental and theoretical results. Some experimental results reveal specific impact oscillations which correspond to the theoretical results considering the interactions between lowest two mode oscillations.departmental bulletin pape
