Production of high-quality fertilizer from sewage sludge by applying microwave drying

    Get PDF
In this study, microwave drying was examined to dry and fertilize dewatered sewage sludge. Microwave drying was suitable to dry dewatered sewage sludge with lower water contents, and was an easy and fast method. Rice husk charcoal or buckwheat husk charcoal as an auxiliary material was able to enhance the potassium and phosphorus content of the fertilizer produced. The fertilizer combing dewatered sewage sludge and rice husk or buckwheat husk charcoal was thus rich in nutrient content and well-balanced. It is concluded that microwave drying is appropriate to reuse and recycle biomass wastes generated in rural areas, and to produce high-quality fertilizers.departmental bulletin pape

    Get PDF
This paper is realization of the society information system environment that "leads to the network from anything anytime as "the ubiquitous computing system" even if wherever". It came to lead to the Internet including the electronic tag or a sensor easily at the same time as the downsizing of the mobile computer, a technological advance, price reduction advanced. I realize the society information system that it is easy to use with convenience for a human being using this technique. I easily obtain information and a picture anywhere anytime and aim at the realization of the society information system that a human being is comfortable, and is safe by doing the most suitable control and can help labor saving or eco-measures of the living environment. I push forward the practical use study for the purpose of "creating the new environment that it is more comfortable, and is convenient" using an ubiquitous system technology in society and home.departmental bulletin pape

Grasp of Exhaust Gas Characteristic of Diesel Engine by Using Opacity Meter

    Get PDF
The grasp of the exhaust gas characteristics in various operating conditions is important for the development of the exhaust gas purification technology of diesel engines. However, the super low mass PM analyzer, which is expensive and whose operation is difficult, is necessary to measure accurately the amount of PM included in the exhaust gas. On the other hand, optical penetration type smoke meters (opacity meters) have been introduced to car inspection instead of optical reflection type smoke meters. Opacity meters can measure PM comparatively easily. In this paper, the grasp of the exhaust gas characteristics of the diesel engine by using opacity meter is examined. As a result, the influence on the PM measurement value by using opacity meter is clarified.departmental bulletin pape

Hydrogen Penetraion into Carbon Steel Caused by Corrosion in Aqueous Solutions

    Get PDF
For the purpose of preventing an accident due to the hydrogen embrittlement, we have examined the hydrogen penetration into S25C carbon steel specimens caused by corrosion in aqueous solutions. The specimen weight was measured before and after immersion test, and corrosion rate was calculated from the change in specimen weight. The corrosion rate decreased with increasing of pH in acid solutions of pH2-4. In the solutions of pH4-8, the corrosion rate was approximately constant, and in the solution larger than pH9, the corrosion rate slightly decreased. The corrosion reaction in the solution of pH3 was determined by the anodic reaction of iron dissolution and the cathodic reaction of hydrogen evolution. In the solutions of pH5-9, the reaction was rate-determined by the cathodic reaction, which was a reduction reaction of the O2 gas dissolved in the solutions. For the specimens covered by corrosion products, it was difficult to analyze hydrogen in the carbon steel specimens by using the method of hydrogen extraction by melting at high temperature, because the corrosion products contained large amount of hydrogen. Therefore, we examined a new method to obtain the concentration of hydrogen in the specimen corroded in aqueous solutions. The concentration of hydrogen was measured for the specimens polarized at some electrode potentials, at which the hydrogen evolution reaction was dominant, and the hydrogen concentration at the corrosion potential (Ecorr) was extrapolated from the hydrogen concentration measured at less-noble potentials. In acid solutions a large amount of hydrogen penetrated into the carbon steel specimens, and the hydrogen concentration at Ecorr decreased with increase of the pH. In the neutral and alkaline solutions, the corrosion was determined by the reduction reaction of the O2 gas dissolved in the solutions, and a small amount of hydrogen penetrated into the specimens.departmental bulletin pape

    Development of a rescue robot

    Get PDF
In this study, we built the remote-controlled rescue robot with the independent four crawler arms for running and the arm for the rescue, and evaluated the performance of the robot by the participation in the rescue robot contest [resucon] and the driving tests. In the resucon, we could remove rubble and get over rough terrain, but we could not rescue the damiyan (the doll which simulated a rescuer). Afterwards, we improved the arm for the rescue, and we could rescue the damiyan. The position control of the crawler arms occasionally became unstable though the effectiveness of the crawler arms was able to be confirmed in the driving tests.departmental bulletin pape

    DNA tests for red rockfish

    Get PDF
The Japan Agricultural Standard (JAS) law obligates correct labeling of quality representation. However, some food put together in the kind with which close species and appearance were alike does not have the labeling of exact raw materials. In a previous study, we applied DNA analysis to fish fry having white flesh. The result has shown that the DNA analysis is applicable to the identification of fishery processed food. Therefore, in this study we used red rockfish fillets having incorrect labeling of raw materials. The sequence of mitochondrial DNA 16S rRNA and cytochrome b region of red rockfish fillets was investigated. We were able to identify Sebastes mentella, Sebastes altus and Sebastes norvegicus.departmental bulletin pape

P wave Velocity and Damping Structure of KIK-net Observation Sites in Fukui Prefecture

    Get PDF
By using a divided soil model, P wave velocity and damping structures of KiK-net observation sites in Fukui Prefecture, were examined by optimizing the observed seismic vertical transfer function, through the genetic algorithm. As a result, P wave soil velocity models with P wave damping coefficients were proposed. The obtained empirical relationship of the internal damping coefficients of the sites is as follows. The value of internal damping coefficient is about 59, in case of the P wave velocity being less than 1700m/s, and is 117 in other case. Moreover, it is said that P wave damping factor has as about twice value as the S wave ones up to 10%.departmental bulletin pape

The relationship between posture stability and leg muscle strength during a single-leg stance on an unstable stool

    Get PDF
This study examined the relationship between posture stability and leg muscle strength while standing on one leg on an unstable stool. The subjects, 11 healthy male university students (Age 19.7±0.8 yrs), were measured by the omni-direction stability index (OSI) during a single-leg stance on an unstable stool for one minute (three trials), the purpose of which was to determine isokinetic strength (ankle plantar / dorsiflexion, knee extension / flexion, hip flexion / extension and abduction / adduction). Significant correlations were found between OSI and knee extension, hip flexion and adduction (r=-0.60 and-0.66), but there was no correlation with respect to ankle joint strength. It was concluded that knee extension, hip flexion and adduction was required in order to maintain a one-legged posture stabilization, despite strong disturbances (upper body swaying in particular).departmental bulletin pape
