Studies on Time Dependence of the Gas Permeability of a Silicon-Containing Poly(diphenylacetylene)

    Get PDF
Certain polyacetylenes having spherical substituents are known to exhibit high gas permeability. Poly[1-phenyl-2-(p-trimethylsilyl)phenylacetyllene] (PTMSDPA) is one of such examples, and its oxygen permeability coefficient (PO2) has been reported to be about 1500 barrers. Though poly(1-trimethylsilyl-1-propyne) is known to be most permeable among all the existing polymers, its gas permeability remarkably decreases with time. The purpose of the present study is to elucidate the time dependence of gas permeability of PTMSDPA. The initial values of PO2 and PN2 were determined to be 2200 and 1000 barrers. Further it was clarified that the gas permeability of PTMSDPA hardly changed even after six weeks irrespective of the method of preservation.departmental bulletin pape

Consideration about the influence on estimation of the static P-V curve by expression of the consequent part function of fuzzy reasoning method

    Get PDF
The characteristic of pulmonary is different, and the setting of the respirator is decided by the experience and the perception of the doctor now. Therefore, the suitable setting of ventilation conditions is needed for every patient. The static P-V curve expresses the characteristic of human lungs, and that is needed for the parameter setting of the respirator. In this study, we present estimation technique of pulmonary elastance and the static P-V curve by using the fuzzy logic. The expression of the consequent part function in fuzzy rule is investigated, and the effectiveness of our modified expression of the consequent part function is illustrated by a estimation example using real patient data.departmental bulletin pape

Analyses of the Decimeter Radio Wave Pulses from the Center of Our Galaxy Based on Data Observed at Awara Radio Wave Station of Fukui University of Technology

    Get PDF
Analyses of the decimeter radio wave pulses in the frequency range of 1.4GHz have been made for the data observed at Awara radio wave station of Fukui University of technology from April to July, in 2008. Results show that there are pulses in wide period range from 0.3sec to 1600sec in the data from our Galaxy center. Basically the appearance of pulses in the decimeter range corresponds to that of decameter radio wave pulses. Based on the hypothesis that these radio wave pulses are generated in the region extremely close to the event horizon of Kerr black hole, we have expected a wider spreading of the pulse period for the case of decimeter radio wave pulses compared with the spreading of the decameter radio wave pulses. In several cases of the pulse periods results support this difference of the pulse periods spreading between decameter and decimeter radio wave pulsesdepartmental bulletin pape

Two-photon Ionization of Diarylethene in the Presence of Cyclodextrin

    Get PDF
The transient absorption of the diarylethene 1,2-bis [ 2-methylbenzo [b] thiophen - 3 - yl ] - 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5 -hexafluoro - 1 - cyclopentene:(DEph) was measured by using 266 nm laser flash photolysis in the presence of cyclodextrins (CDs) in aqueous solution. Ionization of DEph occurred within the laser flash (5 ns) to give water-solvated electron. The electron was generated by two-photon excitation by means of simultaneous irradiation with 266 nm laser light, and the ionization quantum yields for DEph in the presence of α-CD, β-CD, mβ-CD, and γ-CD depended on the properties of the DEph/CD complexes. These results suggest that two-photon-ionization clearly occurred with these complexes. The ionization quantum yield for DEph was found to increase in aqueous solution after the addition of γCD(10 mM), in which γCD likely controlled the photochromic reactivity of DEph.departmental bulletin pape

Necessity of Nuclear Reactor Power Uprating and Basic Study on Safety Assessment for the Power Uprating

    Get PDF
The reexamination argument on nuclear power has arisen after the Fukushima accident. When nuclear power generation has been stopped, it is forced however, to depend on thermal power generation. In that case, the two serious problems of a jump of fuel cost and of global warming issue, that is CO2 emission issue, will be faced. So, it is still required for nuclear power generation to take an important part as basic energy source in our country. However, on the other hand, after the accident, it is very difficult to construct newly the nuclear power plant. Therefore, it is desired to carry out much more practical use of the existing nuclear power plant. One of the policies is improvement in reactor power. It is aiming at the increase in the existing reactor power in safe tolerance level. In this paper, we will describe the outline of the necessity of nuclear power uprating and also discuss basically the safety assessment for the power uprating in the case of PWR using the plant simulator.departmental bulletin pape

Driving Mechanism of a Travelling Wave Ultrasonic Motor -Dynamic Contact Behavior between a Rotor and a Stator-

    Get PDF
We discuss the dynamic complex contact behavior between a stator and a liner that sticks to a rotor of an ultrasonic motor. We already proposed a numerical technique using the Finite Element Method on the basis of incremental theory to analyze the nonlinear behavior for a non-rotating rotor. In this paper, we expand this numerical technique from a non-rotating rotor to a rotating rotor and propose a numerical technique to analyze the dynamic behavior of this complex contact zone. Moreover, we clear the dynamic contact mechanism and the driving characteristics of the ultrasonic motor such as the dependency of driving torque on the maximum frictional coefficient.departmental bulletin pape

Observation of air pollution status by real-time monitoring - A consideration regarding measured data of air pollution constantly monitoring stations -

    Get PDF
Exhaust emission from automobiles has affected on air pollution. To prevent this status, emission control regulation was repeatedly strengthen for many years. However, these efforts did not necessarily take effect on improvement of real world polluted condition directly. Observation of air pollution status is carried out using measured data of constantly monitoring stations. These are average data collected for one hour, so it may be inadequate to utilize them for investigation of actual condition. Under this background, we started to apply "real-time monitoring system". In this report, consideration regarding data of monitoring stations in comparison with our data is presented.departmental bulletin pape

A prospective view of HF-band radio observation system in Awara campus by introducing a software-defined radio

    Get PDF
A HF-band radio observation system at Awara campus in FUT has shown successful results on observation of radio bursts from Sun and Jupiter in the past 10 years. Based on the past achievements, we have recently extended the observation system by introducing "GunRadio" and "USRP2" which make up a software-defined radio (SDR) system expected to enable us to carry out more advanced observations that has been difficult to realize until now. In this paper, we describe current observation projects based on the SDR for not only Jovian and Solar radio bursts but also redio emissions concerning with lightning in Hokuriku coastal area of Japan Sea.departmental bulletin pape

Seismic Performance Evaluation of Traditional Mud-Plastered Wall in Fukui

    Get PDF
This study is planed to clarify the seismic performance for existing traditional mud-plastered wall of Fukui. The static loading test of six wooden frames with mud-plastered wall are reported. From the results of shear mud wall tests, the hysteresis characteristics, the hysteretic envelope curve and the bracing unit multiplier of the mud wall are clarified to evaluate the seismic performance.departmental bulletin pape

On “A class Teacher" by Liu Xinwu

    Get PDF
Liu Xinwu is the author I studied in my master's thesis and still arouses my deep contemplation.A class Teacher",which brought him into prominence, was widely referred to, because of its positive negation of the obscurantist policy in those days when the Great proletarian cultural Revolution was not objectively appraised yet. However, even at present, 30years since then, still Chinese overnment controls the information, making only the pro-government information be available to the public.departmental bulletin pape
