A Comparative study on Decategorization of Composite Verb between Japanese and Chinese
Get PDFDecategorization is one type of grammaticalization. Decategorization refers to the phenomenon changing from major category (noun) to intermediate category (adverb and adjective) and finally to non-major category (preposition, auxiliary verbs etc.). This paper, in view ofadverbialization, analyzes and compares the similarities and differences between the adverbialization of Chinese and Japanese compound verbs. Then, it concludes that in Chinese and English, compound verbs tend to become degree adverbs, which is used to emphasize the degree in written and oral Japanese, yet to focus on expressing meaning of extremity usually in oral Chinese.departmental bulletin pape

Seismic Performance of Precast Reinforced Concrete Core Wall with Horizontal Tied Rebars at Mid Height Level of First Story
Get PDFPrecast core walls are considered effective for construction because they can be built more quickly than cast-in-place core walls. Previously, we conducted a lateral loading test on a full precast wall column simulating the area near the corner of an L-shaped core wall in order to examine the seismic performance. The wall column was divided into precast columns, and horizontal tied rebars were concentrated at the second and third floor levels to connect the precast columns. In this study, a lateral loading test was conducted on a wall column to which horizontal tied rebars were added at the mid height level of the first story. Basic Study on the Nuclear Reactor Plant Action at the Time of a Severe Accident Occurrence
Get PDFThe reexamination argument on nuclear power has arisen after the Fukushima accident. When nuclear power generation has been stopped, it is forced however, to depend on thermal power generation. In that case, the two serious problems of a jump of fuel cost and of global warming issue, that is CO2 emission issue, will be faced. So, it is still required for nuclear power generation to take an important part as basic energy source in our country for years to come. In this paper, we will describe the outline of the severe accident such as a SBO (Station Blackout) accident which happened in Fukushima and also discuss the safety assessment for the plant action when a SBO accident occurred in the case of PWR power plant through the simulation experiments using a PWR power plant simulator. As a result, fuel and fuel cladding temperatures rose abruptly about 3 hours after the SBO accident occurrence for loss of nuclear cooling functions, and it was also shown that cladding tubes damages begin. Conversely, even if a SBO accident should have happened, when power supply restoration was possible within about 3 hours, it was shown that a nuclear reactor can be changed into a cold shutdown state.departmental bulletin pape

We classified a cross section and aground plan of 17 Station which an investigation ended in first. We could classify the ground plans for Type-V from Type-I and understood that it was Type-I that there was the most. We were able to classify cross sections for Type-VII from Type-I. Successively at JR Kagoshima-Chuo Station the route was set up and investigation about the continuity of a sign was conducted. The effects of measurement postures, presence or absence of strength exertion, and measurement skill on abdominal muscle thickness measurement
Get PDFThis study aimed to examine the effects of measurement postures, the presence or absence of strength exertion, and the tester's measurement skill on the reliability of abdominal muscle thickness measurements using ultrasonic imaging diagnosis. Subjects were 11 healthy young males (age: 18.9 ± 0.54 years, height: 170.1 ± 7.01 cm, weight: 64.5 ± 7.62 kg). Skilled and unskilled testers measured muscle thickness during relaxation and strength exertion under upright and supine positions. The measured regions were the rectus abdominis muscle, external oblique muscle, internal oblique muscle, and transverse abdominal muscle. Inter-trial reliability was examined by the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of the one-way layout variation model according to testers, while inter-tester reliability was examined by the ICC of the two-way layout mixture model. Regardless of a difference in the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion, ICCs of both the testers were very high in all the regions (ICC 〓 0.96). However, only the following measured values showed no significant differences between the two testers and exhibited high reliability: the rectus abdominis muscle during strength exertion in the upright position and during relaxation and strength exertion in the supine position (ICC 〓 0.79). Based on the present results, it is considered that the reliability of measured values is high in all the regions, regardless of the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion. However, because within-tester reliability and agreement degree between both the testers in many measured values was low, it is inferred that the measurement skill of testers largely affects the reliability of measured values. In conclusion, the reliability of measured values is high in all the regions, regardless of the measurement posture and presence or absence of strength exertion. Development of THz wave source using optical beats between modes of semiconductor laser chaos and a He-Ne laser
Get PDFA low cost and stable terahertz wave source using a laser chaos is developed. Optical spectra of the laser chaos are broad. In order to oscillate the laser chaos, an optical delayed feedback is introduced using an external mirror. Thus, the optical spectrum is spread about 70 times compared with that the C.W. steady semiconductor laser and the frequency interval between longitudinal modes is about 50 GHz. Optical beats occurs between semiconductor laser's longitudinal modes and these frequency intervals a 50 GHz. Therefore, the laser chaos is important to generate the stable and wide range terahertz wave. Mixing the He-Ne laser with the semiconductor laser chaos system, it's possible to generate THz waves up to 0.864 THz.departmental bulletin pape
