Fabrication and characterization of a dye-sensitized solar cell containing porphyrin derivative
This is a report on the fabrication and characterization of a dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) containing non-carboxylated porphyrin (5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(4-aminophenyl)porphyrin,TAPP)and various cyclodextrins(CDs).The photoelectric conversion of DSSC resulted from light harvesting of TAPP. The open-circuit voltage (Voc) was 0.41 V for DSSC without CD. On the other hand, it increased to 0.47 V, 0.47 V, 0.45 V, 0.49 V containing α-CD, β-CD, CM-β-CD, and γ-CD respectively. The photovoltaic performance increased by electron recombination, which is induced by the formation of an incorporation complex of TAPP with CDs(TAPP/CDs).As a result, we concluded that the TAPP/CDs act as photosensitizer for a DSSC.These results indicate that our techniques can be used for future research on the fabrication of porphyrin-dye DSSC.departmental bulletin pape
The Student Guidance Office 2017 Annual Report
This article reports statistics and some activities in the student guidance office as 2017annual report. From the results, there has been an increase in the number of counseling since 2012. Further, in this year, 65 out of 104 students who received counseling came to the student guidance office for the first time. Approximately, one-third of the students came there voluntarily and a quarter of them came there through screening interview after they took UPI test. These results implied that the student guidance office has come to be perceived as a place where many students feel free to counsel. In the future, it is necessary to consider group work aimed at improving students' communication skills and self-understanding according to the needs of students using the student guidance office.departmental bulletin pape
Optimization of Pulmonary Elastance Polynomial Model Using Immune System
When patient give artificial respiration to the body, the suitable setting of ventilation condition is needed for every patient. However, the parameter setting of the respirator is decided by experience and the perception of the doctor now. Therefore, we proposed a setting method using a static P-V curve. In order to realize a proposed method, it is necessary to improve the estimation accuracy of the static P-V curve. This study proposes optimisation technique of pulmonary elastance polynomial model construction using Immune System from real patient data. Developing a Simple Method for Estimating the Cross-sectional Area of Abdominal Muscles Using Ultrasound Imaging
In this study, we aimed to develop a simple and non-invasive method to estimate the cross-sectional area of abdominal muscles using images from an ultrasound imaging diagnostic device. The target sites were the rectus abdominis muscle, abdominal external oblique muscle, and abdominal internal oblique muscle. The subcutaneous tissues were imaged with the B mode and stored. Imaging sites were from the umbilical region to a point that intersected the line drawn straight down from the axilla (the edge of the external and internal oblique muscles). We obtained images by shifting the width of the probe. Using the analytical software developed in this study, we input the obtained images, adjusted the position for the images to line up, and identified the area of each muscle group and calculated the cross-sectional area. We hope that the analytical software developed in this study will be used as a simple and non-invasive method to estimate the cross-sectional area of muscles, regardless of the types of ultrasound imaging diagnostic devices.departmental bulletin pape
Evaluations of Psychology Education to Enhance Critical Thinking Ability and Meta-Cognition Skills for University students:Through Pre- and Post -Test, and One- and Two- year Follow-up Studies
This study examined evaluations of psychology education to enhance critical thinking ability and meta-cognition skills for university students. University students had taken lesson in critical thinking and meta-cognition and did worksheets after receiving lectures about them in “Introduction to Psychology" class. Although the results of pre- and post- tests demonstrated significantly improved higher levels of critical thinking ability, no significant results between the implementation and control groups have been demonstrated in the follow-up studies had about one year and two years after the class had finished. On meta-cognition skills, no significant results have been demonstrated at pre- and post-test and follow-up studies. The results showed that this study revealed the beneficial effect of implementing the program for developing critical thinking skills in the class although it was possible to maintain the effect. Moreover it suggested that it is necessary to design not only longitudinal study and qualitative research to examine factors for enhancing and maintaining students' critical thinking and meta-cognition skills.departmental bulletin pape
Comparison of the Site Scale in the Castle Town A Study on the Tradesmen's Premises in the Fukui Castle Town, part1
This paper compares of the site scale of the tradesmen's premises in the Fukui Castle Town. The towns with large area were Kyomachi along the HokurikuKaido, Gofukumachi, Honmachi and Chojamachi on the east side. Town such Honmachi, Gofukumachi, Chojamachi is central towns, and many houses have an area of more than 40 Tsubo. Town such as Komemachi, Daikukumachi and Uomachi were back streets, among them the site was narrow compared to the central towns. The central towns of 8 towns are over 35.3 Tsubo which was the average value of the number of squares. On the other hand, the average of site scales smaller than 20 towns such as Seigenjicho and Komemachi. The area of the west side of the Hokurikukaido was less than the average value, among them Hachimancho was the smallest.departmental bulletin pape
Studies of Servo Control System and Building Estimate System for Autonomous Proximity Operations of the Weeding Robot “TAMBA"
Increased public interest in food safety and clean agriculture (e.g., ecological agriculture, organic culture and agrochemical-free cultivation) is driving a production system change from dependence on and use of agrochemicals toward their elimination. However, this raises a huge time- and labor-consuming problem with weeds. The weeding robot “TAMBA" decreases weeds in paddy fields without resorting to herbicides. "TAMBA" autonomously travels while avoiding rice plant rootstocks. Final goal is to runs on schedule, return to the docking station and recharge like “ROOMBA". In this time, we studied servo control system for 4 servo-motors and 4 brushless-DC-motors. Additionally, we built up estimate system. A Factorial Investigation into the English Language Learning Anxiety of First-Year University Students in Japan
Anxiety in the foreign language classroom is an individual difference among learners that can have a direct impact on the success of learning a foreign language. Through factor analysis this study aimed to classify different types of anxiety present in the English language learning classroom at a rural private Japanese university. Using the Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), 146English language learners were surveyed. A five-factor solution was found with the factors interpreted as: anxiety related to oral production, attitudes regarding course enjoyment, degree of comfort when communicating with L1speakersof English, comparison anxiety, and the fear of being unsuccessful or falling behind. It was found that this particular group of learners experience anxiety when forced to produce unprepared language output, when communicating with native speakers, and when there is potential to be compared to classmates.departmental bulletin pape
A study on detecting abnormal movements of stroke patients
福井工業大学大学院工学研究科博士(工学)厚生労働省発表の「平成26年度患者調査の概況」1 )によると,脳血管疾患の総患者数(継続的な治療を受けていると推測される患者数)は,117万9,000人で非常に高い水準にある.また,そのうちの多くは上肢麻痺を伴い,上肢障害は日常生活に大幅な制限をもたらすため積極的なリハビリテーションは重要になる.平成27年度の国民医療費は42兆3,644億円で,そのうち脳血管疾患の医療費は,1兆7,821億円と増加しており2 ),今後も増え続けることが予測される.経済的で効率的なリハビリテーションを行なうことが必要とされる. 厚生労働省発表の「平成26年度患者調査の概況」1 )によると,脳血管疾患の総患者数(継続的な治療を受けていると推測される患者数)は,117万9,000人で非常に高い水準にある.また,そのうちの多くは上肢麻痺を伴い,上肢障害は日常生活に大幅な制限をもたらすため積極的なリハビリテーションは重要になる.平成27年度の国民医療費は42兆3,644億円で,そのうち脳血管疾患の医療費は,1兆7,821億円と増加しており2 ),今後も増え続けることが予測される.経済的で効率的なリハビリテーションを行なうことが必要とされる. しかし現在の脳卒中リハビリテーションにおける保健医療体制は,膨張する医療費を抑制することを狙い,漫然とリハビリを続けるのではなく,標準的な治療期間として標準的算定日数を発症日から180日としている.平成20年4月からは,治療を継続することにより,状態の改善が期待できると医学的に判断される場合には,標準的算定日数を超えても標準的算定日数内と同様の算定できるが,治療を継続された場合も1日6単位(2時間)までと制限があり回復に必要な集中的なリハビリテーションを行える状況にはない9).現在の保険診療体制では回復が見込めるにもかかわらず,対応できない事例が多く存在することが予想される.今後の課題としては,いかに集中的で,効率的なリハビリテーションを行うことが重要になる.そして退院後の施設や在宅において行われる維持期のリハビリテーションにおいても,集中的な訓練を行うことができる体制づくりが重要になる.このような状況にこたえるために近年,ロボット技術,バーチャルリアリティ(以下,VR)技術を応用した上肢リハビリテーション支援システム(以下,上肢リハ支援システム)が開発されている10-13).上肢リハビリテーション技術は,十分な安全性や信頼性が確保できれば,ロボット技術を用いて,訓練の自動化および半自動化を図り,治療訓練の補助として集中的な訓練を実現することが可能である.しかし現在,開発されている上肢リハビリテーション支援システムは非常に高価であり,前述した医療費増大の解決には結びつかない現状がある.脳卒中ガイドライン201514)では国内での実践事例は少ない状態と記載されている.これは経済的なものが最も大きな要因と考えられ,今後は安価なシステムの開発が求められる. また維持期などでセラピストのいない状況(在宅及び施設など)の自主的な訓練で,安全性,効率性の高いものにするには,上肢リハ支援システムが訓練中の対象者の状況把握を十分に行なえることが重要になる.多くの上肢リハ支援システムは,評価システムとしての側面も有しており15)16),脳卒中患者の訓練動作(リーチ動作)における異常性の検出や,重症度の判定,回復レベルの評価などが可能である.上肢機能に関する評価情報をデジタルデータ化することは,telerehabilitation17)18)など遠隔地においての対象者把握にも役立ち,在宅や施設等の様々なシーンの訓練を実現する.また脳卒中の運動障害に対するフィードバック訓練の効果は様々な研究で実証されており19-21),脳卒中患者の訓練動作中の異常性を評価できるシステムを組み込むことで,ロボット訓練におけるフィードバックが可能となり,訓練効果を向上させることにもつながる.しかし現在の上肢リハ支援システムによる測定は制限があり,特に比較的に安価な端点型End-effector Type)では,操作部である把持部の軌道などの測定でとどまる.把持型で手部以外の評価を行なうためには新たにモーションセンサを組み込むことが必要になる.またモーションセンサを用いれば上肢リハ支援システム以外のVR技術を用いた仮想上肢訓練や通常の作業療法で行なわれている机上訓練などの評価にも活用することができる。doctoral thesi
Quality Monitoring of Paddy Rice Using Satellite Image Data
We have been researching to support production of rice with good taste by using satellite image data. Specifically, we aim to extract protein content of rice using satellite image data before harvesting. When comparing measured values such as growth condition and protein content of rice with satellite image data, it is necessary to consider the difference of phenology by varieties of rice. So, as a first step towards monitoring rice quality, a method for determining varieties of rice using Landsat-8 OLI data was proposed. Next, in order to estimate the protein content of rice using a vegetation index (NDVI) obtained from the satellite image, it was analyzed which satellite image (observed at which season) should be used. Furthermore, as a result of investigating the new vegetation index instead of NDVI, the estimation accuracy of rice protein content using the new index was greatly improved.departmental bulletin pape
