    Get PDF
In this study, we monitored college students' sleep quality using a mat-like sleep tracker. Furthermore, physiological indicators were also monitored using a pulse oximeter, thereby examining the relationship between sleep quality and physiological characteristics. During the course of this study, the participating college students were able to secure a sufficient amount of sleep time and maintain their sleep efficiency. However, a lot of the participants felt displeased with their sleep quality. In this study, a positive correlation was established among 3%ODI, body weight, and BMI. Furthermore, a positive correlation was also established between the length of sleep interruption and body weight. Characteristics of respiratory status that depends on the body type may play a role in sleep interruption. Consequently, characteristics of respiratory status may be related to the deterioration of sleep quality.departmental bulletin pape

Investigation of Anama Turnip Stored under Snow

    Get PDF
“Vegetables stored under snow" are vegetables that are grown in autumn and stored under snow in winter. Anama turnip is the traditional vegetable grown in Ono city, Fukui prefecture. In this work, we did listening survey about Anama turnip and its storage under snow method from some experts who know a lot about Anama turnip. They said that about 1 ton of Anama turnip stored under snow is produced per year in this city, and that it is generally known the vegetables stored under snow become more delicious and sweeter than the fresh ones. But scientific evidence about such changes of nutrients of Anama turnip stored under snow has not been obtained. We thus decided to study the changes of some ingredients such as sugars and amino acids in Anama turnip before and after storage under the snow.departmental bulletin pape

The number of credits required for graduation from a four-year university from the viewpoint of the history of university physical education

    Get PDF
This review examines the number of credits required for graduation in light of the history of physical education at the university level. Physical education was introduced at the university level after World War II with the addition of 4 credits to the 120 credits required for graduation. After recent changes to the general rules, however, it is no longer a compulsory subject. However, the graduation requirement remains 124 credits. Because the university has diversified and degree requirements have increased, it is possible to maintain the requirement of 124 credits. University administrators today during the Reiwa era must reexamine the historical context in which physical education was introduced when reconsidering the 124-credit graduation requirement.departmental bulletin pape

Applying "The Period for Integrated Studies" to Students' Future

    Get PDF
"The Period for Integrated Studies" was announced and introduced for the first time in the curriculum guidelines for elementary, junior high, and high schools in 1998 (Heisei 10)and 1999 (Heisei 11). In the 2018 (Heisei 30)Notification of High School Curriculum Guidelines, the name was changed to "The Period for Inquiry-Based Cross-Disciplinary Study." The content is also changing from cross-disciplinary and comprehensive content guidance to deep, inquiry-based content. From now on, the main content of the guidance will be to nurture the "power to live" and provide guidance on upbringing and living to the students. Here, I would like to describe how "The Period for Inquiry-Based Cross-Disciplinary Study" should be linked to individual students' lifestyle guidance, while looking at examples of efforts by each school.departmental bulletin pape

Elucidation of Reaction Mechanism of PVA-KI Gel Dosimeter ( I )

    Get PDF
Radiation-based cancer treatment has less burden on the human body, and it is expected that demand will further increase in Japan where there are many elderly people. At present, there is a demand for a method to visualize radiation easily in radiation cancer treatment. In this study, K I (potassium iodide) was added to a partially saponified PVA (polyvinyl alcohol, hereinafter referred to as PVA) aqueous solution to develop a gelled PVA-KI gel dosimeter. PVA-KI gels are low cost, easy to make, and reusable, such as being able to re-transparent those that have been colored red by radiation when heated, which are not found in other gel dosimeters. The purpose of this study is to elucidate the reaction mechanism in which PVA-KI gel, which turns red by X-ray irradiation, becomes transparent by heating.departmental bulletin pape

This study examined evaluations of psychology education to enhance critical thinking ability and meta-cognition skills for university students. University students had taken lesson in critical thinking and meta-cognition and did worksheets after receiving lectures about them in “Introduction to Psychology" class. Although the results of pre-and post-tests demonstrated significantly improved higher levels of critical thinking ability, no significant results between the implementation and control groups have been demonstrated in the follow-up studies had about one year and two years after the class had finished. On meta-cognition skills, no significant results have been demonstrated at pre-and post-test and follow-up studies. The results from a four-year implementation analysis showed that the effects were different depending on the school year implemented. It suggested that effects of psychology education would be affected some of student's individual factors.departmental bulletin pape

In the master's program, the writer has been filming for two years with research theme of "recording activities aimed at revitalizing local resources". At "Ashizumigama", a charcoal kilns in Ashimi district, Fukui City, as a research theme for “recording activities aimed at revitalizing local resources". Writer created a video work that summarizes the activities of Mr. Keibun Fujii, who is the representative of "General Incorporated Association "Marginal settlement A43 (Ashimi)," which runs the "Ashizumigama" while continuing to connect the residents of the Marginal Village. Writer applied for the 2nd SDGs Creative Award and received the grand prize of SDGs Creative Award Local Action. In Japan, which is a coronal disaster, a sustainable and affluent lifestyle in marginal settlement has been reviewed from urban lifestyles. Therefore, I thought that it was time to convey the charm to the marginal villages that I had been studying so far. From the viewpoint of tourism town development, creating a homepage introducing case studies of marginal settlement A43 (Ashimi).departmental bulletin pape

Acute Effect of Dynamic Stretching Performed Shortly Before Batting on the Swing Velocity of College Baseball Players: Walking Lunge with Rotation

    Get PDF
In this study, we examined the acute effect of dynamic stretching performed shortly before batting on the swing velocity of college baseball players. The participants of this study consisted of ten college baseball players with over ten years of experience in competitive baseball. We tried two approaches for two days: having the participants do a warm-up without dynamic stretching before making a swinging motion (C-approach), and having participants perform dynamic stretching in addition to warming up before making a swinging motion (DS-approach). However, the effect of dynamic stretching on bat swing velocity could not be determined. The findings of this study suggest that for well-trained college baseball players with extensive competitive experience and in excellent physical condition, performing only one type of dynamic stretching during a warm-up shortly before making a swinging motion has negligible effect on bat swing velocity.departmental bulletin pape
