Una provincia sin representación. La ausencia de San Luis Potosí en las Cortes, 1810-1814
Get PDFThis article analyzes a topic mentioned in the historical narratives but has not been studied from the local perspective: how a colonial province lacks of a representative in the Spanish Courts from 1810 to 1814. The lack of a representative in several American provinces made them name a substitute. The case analyzed here, San Luis Potosi, neither had the chance to elect a representative or a substitute. The only elected deputy that traveled to Spain made it until August 1814, when the King was already reinstated and the Spanish Courts dissolved. This article analyzes the circumstances that impeded the province of San Luis Potosi to have a representative in the Spanish Courts and the strategies that the local political actors used to make them to be heard.Este artículo aborda un tema poco analizado desde la perspectiva local, el hecho de que una provincia novohispana careciera de representante en las Cortes entre 1810 y 1814. Si bien la falta de un representante en las Cortes fue un problema al que se enfrentaron varias provincias americanas, lo cual las obliga a nombrar suplentes, la particularidad del caso que analizamos es que San Luis Potosí tampoco conto con esta posibilidad: el único diputado electo por esta provincia que logro embarcarse a la península llegó en agosto de 1814, cuando el rey había regresado y las Cortes estaban disueltas. En el texto se analizan las circunstancias que impidieron a San Luis Potosí tener un representante en las Cortes, así como las estrategias a las que recurrieron los actores políticos locales para hacerse escuchar en los asuntos que consideraban de mayor importancia para la provincia.

Get PDFResumen: En este artículo se exponen los diferentes orígenes de las fotografías de indígenas queretanos, realizadas entre los años de 1850 y 1937, en su mayoría corresponden al grupo otomí. Por medio de ellas se muestran aspectos del proceso social y cultural de los otomíes en los ámbitos rural y urbano. En algunos casos estas fotografías coinciden con lo asentado por otros estudiosos, en tanto que fueron el producto de la recolección de datos antropológicos, aunque la respuesta del personaje queretano fotografiado fue diversa. Hubo casos en que fueron los otomíes quienes solicitaron la fotografía para su propio uso. Abstract: This article presents the different origins of the photographs of Querétaro’s Indians. These photographs were made between the years 1850 and 1937, and mostly belong to the Otomí group. They show different aspects of the social and cultural process of the Otomíes in both urban and rural environments. In some cases these photographs match what academics have said before, since they were product of the collection of anthropological data, although the responses of the people shown were varied. There were cases in which the Otomíes themselves requested the photograph for their own use

Get PDFThis study part of the renewal of the Argentine hitoriographical field in the decade of 1950, describing the alternatives of the discipline in the unstable political context and focused centrally in the problematic of the making of the urban popular sectors in the Argentine historiography. The objective is to carry out a balance of them contribute that they have carried out the investigations on the popular sectors, directed fundamentally by the members of the pehesa. The forms in which this current has presented a break with the paradigm of the histories of the Argentine workers' movement, to the time that tries to show the deep continuities between the historiography and the sociology Argentine decade of the 1950 and the designed production to the study and the analysis of the Argentine urban popular sectors from the decade of 1980 and 1990. Finally, it is concluded with a critical balance on its contributions and perspectives.Este estudio parte de la renovación del campo historiográfico argentino a mediados de la década de 1950, describiendo las alternativas de la disciplina en el inestable contexto político y enfocándose en las problemáticas atinentes a la formación de la historiografía de los sectores populares urbanos. El objetivo es hacer un balance de los aportes que han realizado las investigaciones acerca de los sectores populares, dirigidas fundamentalmente por los miembros del grupo del Programa de Estudios de Historia Económica y Social de Argentina (PEHESA).

Kant en el México del siglo XIX: la recepción e influencia de su filosofía
Get PDFAbstract: I will try to show that Mexico was not strange to the presence nor to the influence of the Kantian Philosophy; that from an early stage, the ideas of the philosopher of Königsberg were relevant for the theory of law, pedagogy, psychology, ethics and the culture that Mexican intellectuals, educators and thinkers developed in general. Also, that his figure was present, even among those who manifested themselves as detractors of his philosophy. How and in what the Kantian thinking was felt in the life of the Mexico of the nineteenth century? This is the question to answer in the present essay.Resumen: Procuraré hacer ver en este trabajo que México no fue en modo alguno ajeno a la presencia e influencia de la filosofía kantiana; que desde temprana fecha el pensamiento del filósofo de Königsberg fue relevante para la teoría del derecho, la pedagogía, la psicología, la ética y la cultura en general que desarrollaron intelectuales, educadores y pensadores mexicanos y que su figura estuvo presente incluso en quienes se manifestaron como detractores de su filosofía. ¿Cómo y en qué se dejó sentir el pensamiento kantiano en la vida del México del siglo XIX? Ésta será la pregunta que busca responder este ensayo.
