No full textThis article aims to offer part of the results of the historical research involved in the doctoral thesis of Esther Apesteguía Lanseros, directed by María Eugenia Martínez Gorroño and María Teresa Calle Molina, on the social and cultural circumstances that made female athletic throw possible in Spain between 1960 and 1990. As it is a study on the History of the Present Time, the methodology used has been specifically designed, using and categorizing various sources, to subsequently carry out a documentary analysis, contrasting and triangulating the information from the mentioned sources to obtain validity and reliability in the results obtained. Based on the possibility of being able to conduct interviews with primary oral sources related to shot put, an approach to the life story of Margarita Ramos Villar is presented, the first Spaniard to participate in the Olympic Games in this modality and a fundamental part of the history of Spanish athletics.El presente artículo presenta parte de los resultados de la investigación histórica que supone la tesis doctoral de Esther Apesteguía Lanseros, dirigida por María Eugenia Martínez Gorroño y María Teresa Calle Molina, sobre las circunstancias sociales y culturales que posibilitaron el inicio del lanzamiento femenino en España entre 1960 y 1990. Al tratarse de un estudio sobre la Historia del Tiempo Presente, la metodología utilizada ha sido específicamente diseñada, utilizando y categorizando diversas fuentes, para posteriormente realizar un análisis documental, contrastando y triangulando la información de las fuentes mencionadas para obtener validez y fiabilidad en los resultados obtenidos. Basándonos en la posibilidad de poder realizar entrevistas a las fuentes orales primarias relacionadas con el lanzamiento de peso, se expone una aproximación a la historia de vida de Margarita Ramos Villar, primera española en participar en unos Juegos Olímpicos en esta modalidad y parte fundamental de la historia del atletismo español

No full textThis article presents an important sporting milestone that occurred a few months ago in Chicago (USA). For the first time in history, a woman has broken the 2:10 barrier in the marathon. This mark is an important and significant time for any male marathon specialist. Kenyan athlete Ruth Chepngetich was the architect of this achievement. This article analyzes how she achieved such a fantastic time: her 5 km split times; her intermediate half marathon split times; her 5 km split times in the second half marathon and her loss of speed in these final stretches; and a comparison of her 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon pace times with her previous personal bests at these distances. Her athletic history and development over the years are also analyzed. Finally, a set of factors that intervene and affect sports performance are analyzed, which allow us to explain the result obtained, and which aim to help reflect on what this milestone means and the circumstances in which it occurred.El presente artículo tiene con finalidad exponer un hito deportivo importante que aconteció hace unos meses en la ciudad de Chicago (USA). Una mujer, por primera vez en la historia, ha sido capaz de derribar el muro de las 2h 10´en maratón. Esta marca es un tiempo importante y relevante para cualquier especialista varón en maratón. La atleta keniana Ruth Chepngetich ha sido el artífice de este logro. En este artículo se analiza cómo logró tan fantástica marca: los tiempos parciales de paso cada 5 km; el tiempo de paso intermedio de la media maratón; los tiempos parciales cada 5 km en la segunda media maratón y la pérdida de velocidad en dichos tramos finales; la comparativa de sus tiempos de paso, en el 5 km, 10 km, media maratón y maratón, con sus marcas personales, de siempre, en estas distancias. De la misma manera se analiza su historial deportivo y su evolución deportiva en el trascurso de los años. Finalmente, se analizan un conjunto de factores que intervienen e inciden en el rendimiento deportivo, que permiten explicar el resultado obtenido, y que tienen como fin, ayudar a la reflexión de lo que supone este hito y las circunstancias en las que se ha producido

No full texthis study centers on political discourse, with a particular focus on the implicit linguistic constructions that speakers use to influence undecided or inattentive voters, effectively bypassing their critical evaluation. The research adopts a corpus-based approach, drawing on the IMPAQTS corpus, which is representative of political speech in the history of the Italian Republic. The analyzed sample includes speeches by Anna Maria Bernini, Pier Luigi Bersani, Carlo Calenda, Vincenzo De Luca, Luigi De Magistris, Luigi Di Maio, Nicola Fratoianni, Giorgia Meloni, Matteo Renzi, and Matteo Salvini. A method for calculating a text’s implicitness index was applied to the selected speeches. This analysis is followed by some theoretical reflections on the problem of delimiting the picaresque genre.Este trabajo estudia la presencia del vino en la literatura picaresca española y trata de analizar su importancia tanto para la configuración particular de cada novela como para el desarrollo del género literario. A dialectical model of moral address
No full textA relatively new view in reactive attitudes theory regards the reactive attitudes and their expression communicatively, and argues that what characterizes the agents who are their targets is a capacity for engaging in a dialogical exchange of moral reasons. Moral competence is evaluable in terms of linguistic competence, with our attributions of responsibility depending ultimately on what people can acceptably say in a certain kind of moral discourse. McKenna (2012) regards the entire process from the commission of the action to the attitude after reflection on analogy with the unfolding of a conversation, and he calls it a “moral responsibility exchange”. I wish to consider whether the critical discussion of the pragma-dialecticians can serve as a dialogue model of this conversation. If it can, then the rules of critical discussion and the material starting-points together determine whether an agent should be held responsible by the other party in the discussion.Keywords: moral responsibility, reactive attitudes, conversation, dialogue model.Un punto de vista relativamente nuevo en la teoría de las actitudes reactivas interpreta comunicativamente las actitudes reactivas y sus expresiones, y alega que lo los agentes que son su objeto se caracterizan por su capacidad de participar en un intercambio dialógico de razones morales. La competencia moral se puede evaluar en términos de competencia lingüística, de forma que nuestras atribuciones de responsabilidad dependen en última instancia de lo que la gente puede decir aceptablemente en un cierto tipo de discurso moral. McKenna (2012) ve todo el proceso, desde la comisión de la acción hasta la actitud después de reflexionar, por analogía con el despliegue de una conversación, y lo llama “intercambio de responsabilidad moral”. Quiero discutir si la discusión crítica de los pragmadialécticos puede servir como modelo de diálogo para esa conversación. Si es así, las reglas de la discusión crítica determinan junto con los asunciones materiales iniciales si un agente puede ser considerado responsable por la otra parte de la discusión.Palabras clave: actitudes reactivas, conversación, modelo de diálogo, Michael McKenna, responsabilidad moral.
Abducción y diálogo persuasivo: Elemental, querido Peirce
No full textIn this article, abduction will be analyzed integrating it within dialogue models; what we might call a dialogic approach to abduction. To do this, abductive reasoning is considered as a process of dialogue that moves forward as we are making / answering certain questions. I will argue, therefore, that abductive reasoning develops in a dialogue frame, which can be explicit or implicit (elliptical). It is in this discursive context in which this "instinctive process" for the assumption or divination becomes conscious, voluntary and ultimately, logical. Therefore, it is from this perspective that abduction can be analyzed and criticized at every turn. I will illustrate this model with the help of some cases of the very well known detective Sherlock Holmes.Keywords: abduction, Holmes, Peirce, persuasion dialogue, reasoned dialogue, Walton.En este artículo se analiza la abducción integrándola en modelos de diálogo; lo que podríamos llamar una aproximación dialógica de la abducción. Para ello, considero el razonamiento abductivo como un proceso de diálogo que se mueve hacia delante según se van haciendo/respondiendo ciertas preguntas. Sostendré, por tanto, que el razonamiento abductivo se desarrolla dentro de un marco de diálogo, que puede ser explícito o implícito (elíptico). Es en este contexto discursivo en el que este "proceso instintivo" para la suposición o adivinación se hace consciente y voluntario y, en definitiva, lógico, por lo que es desde esta perspectiva desde la que podrá ser analizado y criticado a cada paso. Ilustraré este modelo ayudándome de algunos casos del archiconocido detective Sherlock Holmes.Palabras clave: abducción, diálogo persuasivo, diálogo razonado, Holmes, Peirce, Walton.
El debate público en las Redes Sociales Twitter España como estudio de caso
No full textThis paper presents the preliminary conclusions of a Twitter monitoring experiment focused on its activity in Spain and conducted by the research group SDYC-Digital and Knowledge Society. It also provides some indications about the role of these networks in the construction of the public debate in the digital age. Finally we present some prospects on the future development of the project and the general architecture of a system for continuous monitoring of Twitter activity.Keywords: Social Networks, Twitter, Facebook, Digital Media, Civil debate, Monitoring. En este trabajo se exponen las conclusiones preliminares de un experimento de monitorización de Twitter centrado en su actividad en España y realizado por el grupo de investigación UAM SdyC -Sociedad Digital y Conocimiento-. Se ofrecen igualmente algunas indicaciones acerca del papel de estas redes en la construcción del debate público en la era digital. Argumentos sobre derechos humanos: algunos intentos de fundamentación
No full textIn this paper, some attempts to ground human rights are examined. Toulmin’s schema is applied as an analytical tool in order to make explicit not only the structure but also the function accomplished by the arguments. After a presentation of the two main grounding approaches, namely, the moral view and the political view on human rights, it is contended that the proposals within the framework of the political view are in a better position to yield a response, in terms of an argumentative procedure able to determine the rights framework. A critical assessment of two very influential accounts (those by Rawls and Habermas) identifies some relevant conditions of rebuttal against both. Notwithstanding this, finally, the worth of an argumentative procedure in line with the political view is here vindicated as a means to solve problems relating to human rights.Keywords: Habermas, human rights, problems of grounding, Rawls, Toulmin’s schema.En este artículo se examinan algunos intentos de fundamentación de los derechos humanos. Se utiliza para ello, como herramienta de análisis, el esquema de Toulmin, con el fin de hacer explícita no solo la estructura sino también la función de los distintos argumentos. Después de presentar los dos grandes enfoques fundamentadores que representan la concepción moral y la concepción política de los derechos humanos, se defiende que son las propuestas integradas en la concepción política las que mejor pueden aproximarse a una respuesta, en términos de procedimiento argumentativo, que permita la determinación del marco de derechos. Un examen crítico de dos muy relevantes (las de Rawls y Habermas) identifica algunas reservas importantes que pueden formularse a cada una. No obstante lo anterior, finalmente se defiende el valor de un procedimiento argumentativo en línea con las concepciones políticas para la resolución de los problemas vinculados con los derechos humanos.Palabras clave: derechos humanos, esquema de Toulmin, Habermas, problemas de fundamentación, Rawls
El argumento MOU como alternativa a la concepción formalista tradicional de la inferencia
No full textIn this paper I will show the features of the so-called mou argument, which was described by the later Mohist, a chinese philosophy school of the 3rd century BC. The mou argument is a comparative argument which is based on similarities between the statements\u27 syntactic, semantic and pragmatic features. We will see that the later Mohist set up a five-sort typology of relations of implication between statements using this argument. I will defend that the later Mohist approach is a point of view which, starting from an analogical conception of argumentation, allows us to analyze relations of implication between statements using pragmatical elements of language and not only the traditional formal connection of logical consecuence.Keywords: Analogical arguments, Later Mohist, mou argument, pragmatics.En este trabajo expondremos las características del argumento mou descrito por la corriente neomohista del pensamiento chino (siglo III a.C.) Se trata de un argumento comparativo que se basa en las semejanzas entre los rasgos sintácticos, semánticos y pragmáticos de los enunciados. Por medio de este argumento se establece una tipología de cinco casos de relaciones de implicación entre los enunciados. Defenderemos que el enfoque neomohista representa un punto de vista que permite analizar las relaciones de implicación entre enunciados teniendo en cuenta no solo las relaciones formales tradicionales de consecuencia lógica sino también los elementos pragmáticos del lenguaje, a través de una concepción esencialmente analógica de la argumentación.Palabras clave: argumentos analógicos, argumento mou, neomohismo, pragmática
