    No full text
The 50º clavicle radiography examination at the Radiology Installation of Yogyakarta City Hospital added a 50º cephalad Axial (AP) projection. The purpose of this study was to determine the post-ORIF radiographic examination procedure for clavicle fracture cases with a 50º angle, the resulting diagnostic information, and the reasons for using an additional 50º Axial (AP) projection. This study used a qualitative case study approach at the Radiology Installation of Yogyakarta City Hospital. The data collection methods used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study were that the 50º clavicle radiography examination procedure at the Radiology Installation of Yogyakarta City Hospital was carried out with general patient preparation by removing metal objects, the patient positioned supine, the object position was adjusted to the mid-clavicle detector, the acromioclavicle and sternoclavicle joints were not cut. The central point was the mid-clavicle, the horizontal central ray was 50º cephalad perpendicular to the detector, and collimation was minimized. The resulting diagnostic information pays attention to the superimposed clavicle body with plates and screws, the fracture line on the clavicle, looking at the joint space in the shoulder. The reason for using the 50º projection is to obtain diagnostic information on the entire clavicle without superimposition on plates and screws, scapula, ribs, and patient follow-up assessment. The use of the 50º cephalad projection in the Radiology Installation of Yogyakarta City Hospital can provide diagnostics, especially focusing on information on the superimposed clavicle with plates and screws, and the fracture line

Fever is a condition where the body temperature exceeds 37°C above the normal limit. The administration of antipyretic drugs aims to reduce the temperature in the hypothalamus by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which prevents the formation of prostaglandins. The mentaos plant (Wrightia pubescens R.BR.) is known to have flavonoid, tannin, saponin, alkaloid, and steroid chemical compounds. The purpose of this study was to determine the antipyretic activity of mentaos leaf extract (Wrightia pubescens R.BR.) and to determine the most optimal dose as an antipyretic from mentaos leaf extract (Wrightia pubescens R.BR.). The method used was the pretest-posttest-only control design method. Group I was given Na-CMC 0.5% as a negative control, Group II was given paracetamol 9 mg/kgBB as a positive control, and Groups III, IV, and V were given mentaos leaf extract at doses of 120 mg/kgBB, 160 mg/kgBB, and 200 mg/kgBB, respectively. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was antipyretic activity in the three doses of mentaos leaf extract (Wrightia pubescens R.BR.) and that the optimal antipyretic effect was in the third dose group of mentaos leaf extract, 200 mg/KgBB

Facilities are an important component that determines whether a learning process is successful or otherwise. An effective learning process requires resources and media to support it. The current school facilities management data collection still uses conventional methods, so there are often errors in writing and inputting data into the book. The waterfall method, also known as a structured and sequential approach in software development, is used for this system because it allows users to participate in the planning process and produces a computerized system in a relatively short time. It is expected that this web-based information system will increase productivity, reduce data loss, and make recording school facilities easier

In the digital era, public opinion spreads massively and instantly through various social media platforms. One issue that has sparked widespread attention and debate in the digital space is regarding the authenticity of President Joko Widodo's diploma. This issue has provoked various reactions, both support, criticism, and neutral attitudes from netizens, especially through the comments column on YouTube. This study analyzes public sentiment towards the issue using a machine learning approach with the Naïve Bayes and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) algorithms, as well as the SMOTE data balancing technique. A total of 1,000 comments were analyzed and classified into three sentiment categories, namely positive, negative, and neutral. Four test scenarios were carried out, namely: KNN, KNN with SMOTE, Naïve Bayes, and Naïve Bayes with SMOTE with a performance comparison tested to see the effectiveness of each in classifying digital opinion. The test results showed that the combination of Naïve Bayes and SMOTE provided the best performance with accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score of 73%. In contrast, the worst performing model is KNN with SMOTE, which only achieves 27% accuracy, 53% precision, 34% recall, and 15% F1-score. This study emphasizes the importance of algorithm selection and data handling strategies in digital opinion classification, and can be the basis for developing a reliable sentiment analysis system in the future

In writing a literary work, every sentence created by a writer has a purpose of conveying information to the readers, which can be understood by analyzing the presupposition and assertion within each sentence. In this sense, the present study aims on examining how information is organized in the fantasy novel The School for Good and Evil, specifically portraying through the main character. The data for this study was taken from the main character’s utterances within dialogues in the novel, limited to the sentence-level forms. To collect the data from the novel, a documentation method with stratified sampling technique was applied. In this case, the story was divided into five different plot stages with five utterances were selected for each strata, resulting in a total of 25 data for the analysis. Additionally, the present study also applied a qualitative method following the theory of information structure by Lambrecht (1994). These elements were examined to understand how information is structured and what is assumed to be known or introduced as new to the readers. In the result, it revealed that the writer intentionally organize sentences to share information regarding the story in the main character’s utterances throughout the narrative

Politeness Strategies in Comic Strip Dialogues of Junior High School English Textbooks

    Get PDF
Within the framework of Kurikulum Merdeka, English language instruction emphasizes not only the acquisition of linguistic structures but also the pragmatic use of language across diverse social and cultural contexts. Comic strips, as part of the learning materials, offer authentic language interactions that reflect everyday communication and provide exposure to various politeness strategies. This study employed a qualitative approach with content analysis as the method to examine 164 utterances found in the comic strips. The utterances were classified using Brown and Levinson’s (1987) theory, which identifies four types of politeness strategies: bald on-record, positive politeness, negative politeness, and off-record. The findings show that bald on-record strategy was the most frequently used (93 instances), followed by positive politeness (70 instances). Negative politeness was absent, and off-record occurred only once. The predominance of direct strategies is likely attributed to the informal nature of peer-to-peer interactions, where minimal social distance reduces the need for indirectness. These results suggest that comic strips can serve as effective pedagogical tools for fostering learners’ pragmatic competence, particularly in the domain of politeness. The study provides pedagogical implications for educators and material developers in designing instructional resources that integrate both linguistic and pragmatic dimensions of language learning
