    No full text
Gross motor development in early childhood is an important component in children's growth and development, which is closely related to physical, cognitive, social, and emotional abilities. Factors that influence gross motor development include biological factors such as nutritional status and health, as well as external factors such as environmental stimulation, parenting patterns, and early intervention. This study aims to identify and analyze the main factors that contribute to the development of gross motor skills in early childhood and fill the research gap related to the relationship between nutritional status, home stimulation, sleep quality, and technology-based approaches. The research method used was qualitative descriptive with literature study. Relevant scientific articles were analyzed to provide a comprehensive picture of these factors. The results of the study indicated that adequate feeding during the diet transition period, socio-economic conditions, and access to early intervention such as physiotherapy play an important role in gross motor development. In addition, the quality of stimulation at home, good nutritional status, adequate sleep, and the use of technology such as Active Video Games also support the improvement of children's gross motor skills. Consequently, the holistic and multidimensional interventions, including health, nutrition, psychosocial, and technology aspects, are very important in supporting the development of gross motor skills in early childhood. Recommendations are provided for a more integrated and evidence-based intervention approach to support child development

ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY TEST OF THE COMBINATION OF PAPAYA LEAF (Carica papaya L.) AND BASIL LEAF (Ocimum x africanum Lour) EXTRACTS AGAINST THE GROWTH OF Candida albicans

    No full text
Fungal infections are common health problems, one of which is caused by Candida albicans. The use of synthetic antifungal agents in treatment can lead to side effects and resistance risks, thus necessitating safer natural alternatives. Papaya leaves (Carica papaya L.) and basil leaves (Ocimum x africanum Lour) are known to contain active compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, steroids, and tannins, which have potential as antifungal agents. The combination of these two plant extracts was used to enhance antifungal effectiveness through possible synergistic effects of their active compounds, with the expectation of yielding a more optimal inhibitory effect against Candida albicans. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a combination of papaya and basil leaf extracts in inhibiting the growth of Candida albicans. The research was conducted experimentally using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatment groups and four replications. The antifungal activity was tested using the disc diffusion method with extract combinations formulated in 96% ethanol at concentrations of (18.75% : 18.75%), (37.5% : 12.5%), and (56.25% : 6.25%), as well as a negative control (aquadest) and a positive control (ketoconazole 15 μL). One-Way ANOVA analysis showed a significant difference between treatments (p < 0.05). Further analysis using Tukey HSD revealed no statistically significant differences between the three extract combination groups. However, P3 exhibited the highest inhibition zone (4.73 ± 0.91 mm), while P1 showed the lowest (3.45 ± 0.65 mm), and P2 was intermediate (3.98 ± 0.65 mm). All three combinations showed statistically significant differences compared to the negative control (0 mm) and the positive control (6.50 ± 0.83 mm). Thus, although no significant difference was observed between the combination groups, all combinations demonstrated statistically significant antifungal activity against Candida albicans compared to the negative control. In conclusion, the combination of papaya and basil leaf extracts possesses antifungal activity against Candida albicans, although the effectiveness is not yet optimal. Further research is recommended with increased extract concentrations and development into pharmaceutical dosage forms such as gels or ointments as alternative topical antifungal treatments

Skin damage due to UV exposure and pollution can trigger the formation of free radicals that accelerate the process of premature aging. The use of natural antioxidants in cosmetic products to combat free radicals serves as an alternative to synthetic antioxidants, which often cause side effects. Agarwood leaves (Aquilaria malaccensis L.) are known to contain groups of active compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, and terpenoids that have potential as antioxidants. This study aims to formulate and evaluate the face mist preparation of ethanol extract from agarwood leaves in three different concentration variations: FI (5%), FII (6%), and FIII (7%). The research was conducted experimentally in the laboratory, covering the stages of plant determination, maceration with 96% ethanol, phytochemical screening, formulation of preparations, physical evaluation (organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, specific gravity, spreadability, spray condition, drying time, protection, and stability through cycling tests), as well as antioxidant activity testing using the DPPH method with UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The results showed that all formulations had good physical characteristics and were stable using the cycling test method, except for FII which was unstable in the specific gravity test. The IC₅₀ values of each formulation were FI at 28.138 mg/L, FII at 21.871 mg/L, and FIII at 19.387 mg/L, categorized as very strong antioxidants and the three formulations had significant differences with a p-value of ˂0.05. The conclusion of this research is that the FIII formula (7%) is the best formula because it has high antioxidant activity, is stable physically and chemically, and has the potential as a natural cosmetic product that protects the skin from free radicals

    No full text
Hypertension is recognized as a leading contributor to cardiovascular diseases and is frequently labeled a "silent killer" due to its lack of clear symptoms, despite its significant impact on global illness and death rates.  This research aimed to evaluate the influence of such exercise on blood pressure in adults diagnosed with hypertension. A pre-experimental design utilizing a one-group pretest–posttest method was applied, involving 43 participants selected via purposive sampling based on set inclusion criteria. The data were examined using the Shapiro–Wilk test for normality and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for hypothesis testing. Findings revealed that prior to the intervention, the median systolic pressure was 148 mmHg, and the median diastolic pressure stood at 88 mmHg. Following the exercise intervention, the systolic median dropped to 141.75 mmHg and the diastolic to 84 mmHg. Statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon test returned a p-value of 0.000 (below 0.05) for both measures, indicating a statistically significant change post-intervention. These outcomes demonstrate that hypertension exercise can be an effective method for lowering blood pressure in hypertensive adults. The results support the broader adoption of non-drug-based strategies in communities to help manage and control hypertension

The performance of administrative staff plays a vital role in supporting the smooth delivery of healthcare services in hospitals. Poorly managed workloads can decrease both performance and work efficiency. This study aims to determine the influence of workload on the performance of administrative staff at Husada Hospital in 2025. The research employed a quantitative-descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. Workload was divided into two categories: internal factors (age, gender, nutritional status, health condition, motivation, trust, and job satisfaction) and external factors (job tasks, work organization, and work environment). A total of 53 respondents were selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS with multiple linear regression. The analysis showed that most variables had no significant effect on performance, except for four: job trust (p = 0.004), job satisfaction (p = 0.024), work organization (p = 0.002), and work environment (p = 0.010). Job trust and work organization had a positive effect on performance, while job satisfaction had a negative effect. The study concludes that psychological factors and work systems are more influential in determining performance than physical workload. It is recommended that hospital management strengthen organizational structure, create a supportive work environment, and proportionally enhance trust and job satisfaction to maintain optimal staff performance

    Get PDF
This study aimed to explain the changes in setting that occur in the ecranisation process of ‘Always and Forever’, Lara Jean novel into ‘To All the Boys: Always and Forever movie’. Moreover, this study was conducted by using a qualitative method. Document analysis and note-taking techniques were used in collecting data and then applied the ecranisation theory proposed by Eneste (1991) to analyze the data. The study results showed that the setting has undergone 37 reductions, eight additions, and seven variations. The changes that occurred during the adaptation are most likely because of the technical and time limitations of the movie production, the insignificance of the particular parts of the novel, and the importance of the particular part to be displayed in the movie

Hubungan Polimorfisme Toll-Like Receptor 2 Dan Sifilis Okular

    No full text
Sejak pandemi HIV terjadi peningkatan kasus sifilis okular.
