Assessment of the Impact of Locally Sourced Building Materials on Residential Property Development in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria
This research explores how locally sourced building materials (LSBMs) influence residential property development in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria. Rising construction costs, lack of affordable housing, and environmental degradation stem largely from a dependence on imported, industrial materials. Through a survey of construction experts and skilled artisans in Owerri, the study gathers substantial data. It evaluates these materials based on three main criteria: their local availability, their affordability, and the resulting impact on construction expenses. Additionally, the investigation highlights common hurdles blocking LSBM utilization. These include limited policy support, negative assumptions about quality, technical skill gaps, and lack of standardisation. Encouragingly, the study finds that laterite, stone, bamboo, timber, and clay are abundantly present and inexpensive. These materials offer developers a meaningful cost reduction alternative. Although the benefits are considerable, prejudice and infrastructure gaps prevent widespread acceptance. The study urges policy, educational, and technical strategies to help close existing supply and application gaps. For lasting improvements in sustainable construction and cost efficiency, this study recommends strengthening regulatory frameworks, standardising material quality, and running education campaigns for residents and developers alike

Secondary data was obtained from annual accounts of the deposit money banks, CBN Statistical Bulletin and Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) Annual Reports for the period 2015-2023. Multiple Regression analysis was employed with the aid of SPSS version 9.0 for the purpose of testing the research hypotheses. The finding revealed that Automated Teller Machine (ATM), Point of Sales (POS) and Mobile Banking Transactions (MBTs) have positive and significant effect on Return on Equity (ROE) and Earnings Per Share (EPS) of deposit money banks in Nigeria. Hence, the study concluded that technological disruption has significant positive effects on deposit money banks financial performance in Nigeria. Based on the findings, the study recommends that deposit money bank management should pay more attention on the activities that will improve the technological disruption channels of their banks if they wish to increase the ROE and EPS value of their banks as this will lead to high customers’ satisfaction and patronage.

EFFECT OF RISK ON FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF LISTED COMMERCIAL BANK IN NIGERIA
The study investigated the effect of risk on financial performance of quoted commercial bank in Nigeria. The study sheds light on the surprising link between risk and financial performance of quoted commercial bank in Nigeria. The study covered a ten-year period from 2014 to 2023. The specific objective was to analyze the impact of non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, Loan loss ratio, Capital adequacy ratio (LCR) and custom on financial performance of listed commercial bank in Nigeria. The study employed Ex-post facto research design in which secondary data were collected from annual reports and financial statements of five purposively listed commercial banks from 2014 to 2023. Panel least square regression was adopted for the analysis using E-views 10 statistical tools. Findings made indicates that non-performing loan ratio has a significant positive impact on the financial performance (p-value = 0.0000), loan loss ratio has a significant positive impact on financial performance. (p-value = 0.0000), capital adequacy ratio has a significant negative impact on financial performance (p-value = 0.0000) and custom has insignificant negative impact on the financial performance of quoted commercial bank in Nigeria. (p-value =0.6030). The study recommended among others that banks should implement stringent policies and strategies to reduce non-performing loans. This will help lower the NPL ratio and improve financial performance as higher NPLs were found to positively impact performance, suggesting recovery efforts may be yielding results. Strict loan monitoring and borrower evaluation can help curb rising NPLs
IMPACT OF FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING SYSTEM ON CORPORATE PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING FIRMS IN NIGERIA
This study examined the impact of financial accounting system on corporate performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria. The reason for this study was because financial report is expected to show the economic and financial situation of the company, in order to inform managers and shareholders and is of crucial importance in decision making, when the interests of both shareholders and creditors must be taken into account. The specifics objectives of the study were to ascertain the effect of financial reporting quality on return on assets, effect of financial reporting quality on return on equity and effect of financial reporting quality on net profit margin all in manufacturing companies in Nigeria. Secondary data was used in this study and Ordinary Least Square (OLS) multiple regression was used to analysed the data with the aid of SPSS version 23 output statistical software. The study employed an ex post factor research design because the data for the study was extracted from annual report and account of the manufacturing companies in Nigerian. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select 10 financial firms listed on the Nigerian Exchange Group as at 31st December, 2023. The study covered a time frame of five (5) years, starting from 2019 – 2023. The study found out that positive relationship between financial reporting quality and returns on assets, a negative relationship between financial reporting quality and returns on equity and a positive relationship between financial reporting quality and net profit margin of selected manufacturing companies. We therefore, recommended timeliness of audited corporate annual financial reports is considered to be a crucial and an essential factor affecting the usefulness of information made available to various users, the use of joint auditors is also encouraged, as the volume of transactions in most Nigerian firms are constantly increasing, the possibility of efficiency and effectiveness in audit might be likely eroded and appointing outside directors to the board is an effective board leadership style to reduce the agency problem and increase reporting quality.

FIRM-SPECIFIC FACTORS AND CORPORATE SOUNDNESS OF NIGERIAN INSURANCE COMPANIES: DO RELEVANCE AND FAITHFUL REPRESENTATION MATTER?
The case of corporate soundness of Nigerian insurance companies being threatened as reflected in some momentum of corporate failures, seemingly technical insolvency and constraints in settling policyholders’ claims should be a source of worry. This study, therefore, examined the impact of firm-specific factors on the corporate soundness of listed insurance firms in Nigeria. This was done in the context of switch to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) believed to be deep-rooted in “relevance” and “faithful representation” qualitative characteristics. Using insurer-level data of 22 listed insurance firms manually extracted over the period 2007-2023, data analysis was performed using Driscoll and Kraay’s Estimator with capacity to correct heteroscedastic, serially correlated and cross-sectional dependent residuals. The findings showed that 6 out of 10 firm-specific factors examined are favourable to the improved financial standing in terms of soundness as measured by Z-score. These factors are share of premium ceded to reinsurance, premium retention, premium to surplus ratio, capital adequacy, loss ratio and level of profitability. Claims growth and insurer’s size are unfavourable while concluding evidence cannot be made regarding insurance premium growth and insurer’s age. However, during IFRS, insurer’s soundness was subject to improvement via reduced claims growth and loss ratio and somehow upward growth in insurance premium only. This suggests that favourable IFRS reporting impact reflected in few of the factors, indicating that there is low progressive institutional change in corporate reporting practices of insurance firms in Nigeria. This situation requires that relevant regulators increase their level of oversight in ensuring that there is a true and favourable reflection of IFRS reporting in the financial soundness of Nigeria insurance firms.

ESGs PRACTICES AND ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE OF MANUFACTURING FIRMS: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF NIGERIA AND GHANA
This study assessed the effect of environmental, social and governance practices on economic performance of manufacturing firms in Nigeria and Ghana. Specifically, the study compared the degree of effect of each of the elements of ESG on cash value added of firms listed on Nigeria and Ghana Exchange Group. The study employed a longitudinal research design because it involves the evaluation of the behaviour of the same variables over an extended period of time. The population of the study comprised all manufacturing firms in both Nigeria and Ghana listed on the Exchange Group and Stock Exchange respectively, and a sample of eleven (11) manufacturing firms in both Nigeria and Ghana was taken. The study used secondary data which were sourced from the various annual reports of the sampled manufacturing firms deposited in the libraries and website of the NGX (www.ngxgroup.com) and GSE (www.gse.com) which covered a period of twelve (12) financial years (2012-2023). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, and the hypotheses were tested with inferential statistics panel regression analysis. The evidence provided by the regression result showed that ESGs had a negative coefficient of -100528.7 and a p-value of 0.000 but was significant at 5% level for Nigeria manufacturing firms; while the outcome showed a positive coefficient of 1842.176 and p-value of 0.090 for Ghanaian manufacturing firms, but has no significant effect on cash value added. Based on the findings, the study recommended that the management of both countries manufacturing firms needs to adequately be aware of the importance of environmental, social and governance which may improve the performance of the firms, and spend extensively in it as this will be a great catalyst for their growth, productivity, and development. This will result in an increase in management efficacy
INTEGRATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) INTO BUSINESS EDUCATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP PRACTICE: OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES, AND FUTURE PROSPECTS
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly reshaping modern education and entrepreneurship. It offers transformative opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and personalized engagement. This paper examines the application of AI in Business Education and entrepreneurship practice with particular emphasis on how AI technologies personalize learning, enhance instructional delivery, automate assessment, and simulate real-world business environments. In entrepreneurship, AI supports market research, opportunity identification, business planning, idea generation, process automation, and predictive analytics for better decision-making. Despite these numerous advantages facing integrating AI into Business Education and entrepreneurship practice, the integration of AI faces several challenges. These include ethical concerns, data privacy and security risks, pedagogical and cultural resistance, AI literacy gaps, potential job displacement, infrastructure limitations, and resistance to change. The paper argues that for AI to be effectively integrated into Business Education and entrepreneurship, stakeholders must address these challenges through targeted curriculum reforms, AI literacy programmes, infrastructure investment, and ethical AI adoption. It concludes that AI, if strategically embraced, can revolutionize both business education and entrepreneurial practice, thereby equipping learners and practitioners with the tools needed for success in a digitally driven economy. It was therefore suggested, among other things, that AI literacy needs to be incorporated into curricula. Workshops, training programmes, and online courses should be offered to help entrepreneurs understand AI fundamentals, its applications, and its potential impact on their businesse

Design and Construction of a 1.2KVA Carbon-Free and Fueless (CFF) Generator
There have been problems with public power generation and distribution in Nigeria, and this has affected many Nigerians in one way or the other. Similarly, apart from health hazards, many deaths have been recorded as a result of use of diesel or fuel dependent generators, Additionally, the production of electrical power via solar energy is increasingly gaining more awareness, but the cost of its installation in residential buildings is not affordable by an average Nigeria. Hence, the need to design and construct a more environmental-friendly and less expensive generator for average Nigerians. This study therefore adds to electrical power generation to design and construct a 1.2KVA Carbon Free Fueless (CFF) generator. The study employed an experimental design approach following designs procedures for constructing generator. The construction employed some resources such as alternator, bridge rectifier, capacitor, stator winding. Having constructed the CFF generator with an external solar power source, it shows that its performance evaluation is 1,200W (1.2KVA) CFF-generating set with a minimum time of six hours
Teachers’ Skills in the Improvisation of Instructional Materials for Teaching Computer Studies in Junior Secondary School
Improvisation can be an essential skill for teachers, especially in resource-constrained educational environments. The study investigated the skills of teachers in Egor Local Government Area of Edo State to improvise instructional materials for teaching when conventional resources are unavailable. Using a descriptive survey research design, the study sampled 102 teachers from 12 public Junior secondary schools. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire divided into sections addressing demographic information and the variable of interest. The instrument, validated by experts, achieved a reliability coefficient of 0.780 through Cronbach\u27s Alpha. Mean and standard Deviation was used to answer research question 1, t-test was used to test hypothesis 1 and ANOVA was used to test Hypothesis 2. at a 0.05 significance level. The findings revealed that teachers in the study area possess adequate improvisation skills, enabling them to adapt their teaching methods effectively in diverse situations. Teachers demonstrated the ability to create alternative instructional materials and found no variation in these skills based on gender, as male and female teachers exhibited similar proficiency levels in improvising teaching resources among others. Moreover, the study concluded that educational qualifications do not affect teachers\u27 improvisation abilities. Teachers across various qualification levels were equally adept at creating instructional materials. This uniformity suggests that the ability to improvise is a skill that transcends formal qualifications
