    The Influence of Entrepreneurship Workshop Programme on Entrepreneurial Intentions of Technology and Vocational Education Students in Public Universities in Anambra State

    The growing concern for innovation, job creation and economic growth has led to the inclusion of entrepreneurship education into Nigerian tertiary institutions\u27 curriculum. Does the programme achieve the aim necessitated by the study? This study investigates the influence of the entrepreneurship workshop programme on entrepreneurial intentions of technology and vocational education students in public universities in Anambra State Nigeria. One research question guided the study, and one hypothesis was tested. The study employed a correlational research design, and 104 Technology and Vocational Education students in the 400 level were sampled. The instrument for data collection was a 5-point rating scale questionnaire titled “Entrepreneurship Workshop Programme and Entrepreneurial Intentions Questionnaire”. The instrument contains 15 items of Strongly Agree (SA), Agree (A), Neutral (N), Strongly Disagree (SD) and Disagree(D). The instrument was validated by two experts in business education. The reliability of the instrument was obtained using Cronbach’s Alpha and a reliability coefficient of 0.79 was obtained. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient (PPMCC) and Simple Linear Regression. PPMCC statistics were performed to answer the research questions. Simple linear regression statistics were performed to test the hypothesis on the relationship and prediction. The decision criteria for the use of PPMCC were based on the range of coefficient value (r), and when a coefficient r-value was positive correlation; it meant that as one variable increases, the other increases. The null hypothesis was determined using regression estimates, 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that a low positive relationship exists between the entrepreneurship workshop programme and entrepreneurial intentions among TVE students in public universities in Anambra State, Nigeria. Also, the findings revealed that the entrepreneurship workshop programme has a significant positive relationship with entrepreneurial intentions of TVE students in public universities in Anambra State, Nigeria. Based on the findings, it is concluded that the more students are exposed to the entrepreneurship workshop programme, the more they develop the desire to become an entrepreneur. It was therefore recommended among others that management of public universities should ensure that entrepreneurship programmes are regularly organized for students to develop EI for the establishment of their businesses upon graduatio

    The study examined integrating technology into pedagogy for improving students’ performance in Agricultural Education programme in Colleges of Education in South-East, Nigeria. The study was guided by three research questions and three corresponding null hypotheses were formulated. The population of the study was 430 comprising 185 Agricultural Educators and 245 final year Agricultural Education students. The sample of the study was 205 comprising 88 Agricultural Educators and 117 final year Agricultural Education students. The sampling technique adopted was purposive sampling technique. The instrument for data collection was structured questionnaire validated by three experts. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach Alpha statistic which yielded overall reliability co-efficient index of 0.84. The data collected were answered using mean and standard deviation and the null hypotheses were tested using the t-test statistic at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the data analyses revealed that to high extent Interactive Whiteboard integration, Educational Tablets and Artificial Intelligence integration into pedagogy improved Agricultural Education students’ performance.     Online Visibility of the Research Output of Library and Information Science Educators in Federal Universities in South-East, Nigeria on Google Scholar Database

    This study investigated the online visibility of the research output of library and information science educators (LISE) of federal universities in South-East Nigeria, using the Google Scholar Database. Three research questions guided the study. The descriptive survey design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 129 library and information science educators from five Federal universities in South-East, Nigeria. A checklist titled “Researcher’s Google Scholar Observation Guide (RGSOG)” was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experienced lecturers. One in the department of Educational Foundations (Psychology unit) and two in the department of Library and Information Science, all in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. Scorer or rater reliability estimate was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument with a value of 0.79. The data obtained was analyzed using frequencies and percentages that were presented in tables. The findings revealed that majority (70.5%) of Library and Information Science Educators of federal universities in South-East of Nigeria are visible on Google scholar. It was also found that most of the research outputs (2173) of Library and Information Science Educators (LISE) in Federal Universities in South-Eastern Nigeria are available on the Google Scholar database. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that university management should engage in public enlightenment programs through mass media and academic outlets like departmental board meetings to sensitize and encourage Library and Information Science Educators to publish their works in well-known and reputable journals to improve their availability on the Google Scholar database

    The face significant challenges in the digital era due to globalization, urbanization, and the dominance of English. However, digital platforms have become vital tools for preserving and revitalizing the culture. Initiatives like the Igbo Literacy Project aim to create comprehensive digital and physical repositories of Igbo linguistic and cultural heritage, encompassing traditional practices, oral histories, and community mappings.  E-learning platforms offer interactive curricula that blend notes, audio, videos, and games, reaching students globally and fostering fluency in Igbo. outlets such as BBC Igbo have expanded the language\u27s presence in broadcast media, creating viable channels for literacy and oracy in Igbo. Social media platforms, YouTube channels, and podcasts dedicated to teaching and discussing the culture are gaining increasing popularity. These digital endeavours not only counteract the decline of the but also promote cultural pride and identity among younger generations. By leveraging technology, communities are ensuring that their culture remains vibrant and accessible in the digital age. This study will use a Qualitative Research Design. This design would be suitable for exploring the potential of online platforms in preserving the culture. A case study approach or Surveys and interviews could be used to examine specific online platforms or initiatives that promote the culture. It will recommend that the experts get involved in the online promotion of the culture.&nbsp

    CULTURAL LAG: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AFRICAN INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS, AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE MODERN DIGITAL WORLD

    The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping societies worldwide, but in Africa its integration often collides with deep-rooted Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS). This tension can be understood through the sociological concept of cultural lag, where material culture (technological innovation) advances faster than non-material culture (values, practices, and institutions). This paper critically explores how cultural lag emerges in the interaction between AI and African IKS, and the implications for sustainable development. Drawing on conceptual clarifications of cultural lag, AI, IKS, and sustainability, the discussion identifies challenges such as epistemological dissonance, infrastructural gaps, and temporal disjuncture. At the same time, it highlights areas where AI can strengthen indigenous practices in agriculture, medicine, education, and climate resilience. Using African case studies, comparative global insights, and empirical data, the paper argues that bridging this lag requires deliberate epistemic integration, institutional adaptation, community-led digitization, and ethical frameworks grounded in African values such as Ubuntu. Ultimately, Africa’s sustainable development hinges on transforming AI from a driver of cultural displacement into a catalyst for indigenous knowledge revitalization and inclusive innovation.&nbsp

    CHARACTERISTICS OF CLAY DEPOSITS FROM AKPOHA AREA, SOUTHEASTERN NIGERIA: ITS SUITABILITY AS A RAW MATERIAL IN CERAMICS INDUSTRIES

    In this research, the clays widely deposited around Akpoha region, were sampled and evaluated to determine their suitability for use as raw materials in ceramic applications. The clay samples were first characterized by evaluating their physical properties identified by grain size distribution and Atterberg limits. Winkler diagram and Casagrande clay workability chart were employed for technological classification of clay products. The bulk and clay (< 2 μm) fractions of the samples were further analyzed by X-ray diffraction to identify the mineralogical compositions, whereas their chemical compositions were determined using Philips PW 1600 X-ray spectrometer. To determine their ceramic applications, technological properties such as bulk density, linear firing shrinkage, weight loss, water absorption and flexural strength were evaluated by firing the clay samples at high temperatures ranging from 800oC to 1200oC. From the results, the clays consist of fine particle with high plasticity and were composed predominately of illite, chlorite-vermiculite and kaolinite. The oxides were dominated by SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3. The feldspar contents and the alkali elements revealed their potential as stating materials for earthenware production. The results of the fired properties revealed significant development of densification of ceramic behavior noticed at the firing temperature above 800oC. The results also revealed an increase in linear firing shrinkage and flexural strength. From the mineralogy, grain size distribution, plasticity and fired properties of the studied clays, they are suitable as raw material for ceramic production. They utilization can boost the nation’s economy in terms of gross domestic product and foreign exchange earnings

    A COMPARATIVE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF 22 FACTORIAL EXPERIMENT AND TWO-WAY ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE INTERACTIVE MODEL

    statistical comparative analysis of 22 factorial experiments were compared with Two-Way analysis of variance (ANOVA) interactive model. The three models for Two-Way ANOVA were considered with respect to when to test for the main effects. The three models are; fixed effect, random and mixed effect models. When the two factors namely; factor A and factor B are fixed, the common denominator for testing for the main effects is mean square error (MSe). Conversely, when the two factors are random, the common denominator for testing for the main effects is mean square interaction (MSλ). However, when factor A is fixed and factor B is random, the denominator for testing for factor A is MSλ while that of factor B is MSe. Conversely, when factor A is random and factor B is fixed, the denominator for testing for factor A is MSe while that of factor B is MSλ. The 22 factorial experiments have no model specifications. After the statistical analysis, the results from the fixed effect model for the Two-Way ANOVA gave the same result with that of 22 factorial experiments using the Yates’ technique or any other technique. The researcher therefore recommends that when both factors are fixed, either 22 factorial design or Two-Way analysis of variance (ANOVA) interactive model could be used. But when both factors are random or mixed, the Two-Way analysis of variance (ANOVA) interactive model is highly recommended

    This study explores the application of integrated airborne geophysical data and satellite imagery to investigate the subsurface and surface characteristics of parts of Lapai Local Government Area, located in Niger State, Nigeria. The research utilizes a combination of geophysical methods such as magnetic, radiometric, and electromagnetic surveys, alongside high-resolution satellite imagery, to analyze geological features, mineral resources, and potential environmental hazards. The integration of these data sources allows for a comprehensive understanding of the area’s geology, identifying anomalies and patterns that can be linked in geological ways such as formations, mineral deposits, groundwater resources, and land use changes. The results of this study are significant for resource management, environmental monitoring, and regional development planning. The findings highlight the potential of using integrated remote sensing and geophysical techniques as a cost-effective and efficient approach for regional geological and environmental assessments.&nbsp

    Electrical and electronic waste (E- waste) is applied to electrical and electronic waste materials of all kinds,which includes but not limited to refrigerators, mobile phones, computers, televisions and other electronicgadgets. This E-waste has been found to have tremendous deterioration on engineering properties of soilover time. This study investigates the influence of Cement and Rice Husk Ash (RHA) on some geotechnicalproperties of E-waste such as the California Bearing Ratio (CBR), triaxial test results, and UnconfinedCompressive Strength (UCS). E- Waste contaminated soil samples were treated with 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%,and 10% cement and RHA. The results of the CBR showed highest value of 59.05%, deviation. stress σ3 peakvalue of 615.05KN/m2 and UCS highest value of 276.84 kPa. These results were obtained at the optimalcement-RHA admixture performance. The result demonstrates that the addition of cement and RHA enhancesthe e-waste soil\u27s engineering properties
