The study in order to prevent occurrence of correlation of variables equally carried out the serial correlation LM test which clearly indicates that there was no correlation between the variables in the model. This is because the p-value are insignificant at 5% level of significance. The findings show that local government revenue from the various sources as contained in the study significantly affects economic development in Nigeria. Unidirectional link runs between Value Added Tax of local government revenue to real GDP in Nigeria. Descriptive statistics such as mean and standard deviation were used in describing the nature of the data while ordinary least square regression was used to validate the hypotheses. The results showed that: current asset turnover ratio has a significant positive effect on the return on asset; fixed asset turnover ratio has a non-significant positive effect on the return on asset and total asset turnover ratio has a non-significant negative effect on the return on asset. Secondary data were collected from the annual reports of the selected firms over a ten-year period that covered 2014 to 2023. Analyses of data were done using preliminary tools such as descriptive statistics, test of heteroskedasticity, multicollinearity, cross-sectional dependence and Hausman specification test after which the hypotheses were tested using Panel Estimated Generalized Least Squares. The findings revealed that: board size has a significant positive effect on the audit report timeliness of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria (p-value = 0.0160); board independence has a significant positive effect on the audit report timeliness of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria (p-value = 0.0000); board gender diversity has a non-significant positive effect on the audit report timeliness of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria (p-value = 0.1870); board diligence has a non-significant positive effect on the audit report timeliness of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria (p-value = 0.1036). In conclusion, larger, more independent, and diverse boards, along with diligent governance practices, contribute to a robust oversight mechanism that facilitates timely audit reporting. Diverse boards that include a mix of genders are likely to benefit from varied perspectives and approaches to problem-solving, which can improve the overall effectiveness of governance practices. The experiment was carried out at the Teaching and Research Farm of Department of Crop Science and Horticulture, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. The aim was to evaluate the effect of neem leaf rates on the establishments, growth, yield and blossom end rot of tomato (Lycopersicon esculetum), in Awka, Anambra State. Four rates of Neem leaves were used as mulch which served as treatments (0.00 kg ha-1, 2775 kg ha-1, 5550 kg ha-1 and 8338 kg ha-1) on the PADMA 108 F1 variety of tomato. The neem leaves were applied on well prepared beds, one week before transplanting. Plots mulched with 5550 kg ha-1 gave highest number of fruits per plant (16.70) while control plot gave lowest number of fruits per plant (4.90). Mulching with 8338 kg ha-1of neem gave highest fruit weight (0.339 t ha-1) while control plot gave lowest fruit yield (0.207 t ha-1). Number of tomato fruits per plant affected by blossom end rot was highest in control plot (11.00) and reduced in plot mulched with 8338 kg ha-1 of neem (4.00). Therefore, the use of 8338 kg ha-1 of neem leaves is recommended for improved yield and increased resistance to blossom end rot in tomatoes in Awka
