New Technologies and Curriculum Development in Business Education and Entrepreneurship

    No full text
The rapid pace of digital transformation and the Fourth Industrial Revolution has made it imperative to reform business education and entrepreneurship curricula. This paper explores how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, virtual reality, and cloud computing can modernize learning environments, enhance entrepreneurial skills, and expand access to quality education. Despite global advancements, many institutions still rely on outdated curricula and lack the infrastructure to support digital integration. This paper identifies five core challenges: obsolete content, infrastructural disparities, limited faculty capacity, weak industry-academia linkages, and inadequate assessment models. In response, it offers strategic, actionable policy recommendations: modernizing curriculum frameworks, investing in digital infrastructure, equipping educators with digital competencies, fostering academia-industry collaboration, and promoting inclusive access for marginalized learners. Drawing insights from global exemplars such as MIT Sloan, the African Leadership University, and the Singapore Institute of Management, the paper demonstrates that effective reform is both possible and necessary. The proposed strategies aim to ensure that business education is not only responsive to technological change but also inclusive, relevant, and future-read

Primary health care is a grass root-oriented approach to health care that is structured to provideessential health care services to all individuals in the community. This concept that came intoexistence globally in 1978 from the Alma-Ata conference, was conceptualized to achieve“Health for All” and universal health coverage. Universal health coverage means all individualshave access to essential and quality health care services needed at the right time without financialhardship. The paper reviewed PHC as a strategic concept structured towards achieving UniversalHealth Coverage in Nigeria with focus on challenges and prospects. The study adopted aqualitative study design with a review method that focused on PubMed and google scholardatabases. Search was conducted using key words like PHC in Nigeria, current status of PHC,PHC implementation, universal health coverage, and challenges to universal health coverage. The review results revealed that, Nigeria has a robust primary health care implementationframework with result-oriented interventional programmes that are supported by policy toachieve universal health coverage. However effective implementation of primary health care hasbeen challenged by various problems, some of which included inadequate funding, unsatisfactory political will, deficit in human resources for health, poor state of healthinfrastructure etc. Primary health care was initiated to make essential health care servicesavailable, accessible, acceptable and affordable by all individuals in the community. For primaryhealth care implementation to achieve the universal health coverage in Nigeria, efforts must bemade to comprehensively address these highlighted challenges.&nbsp

PETROPHYSICAL PROPERTY EVALUATION AND RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION IN THE B-FIELD, NIGER DELTA

    No full text
The Niger Delta Basin in southern Nigeria is a prolific hydrocarbon province characterized by complex structural and stratigraphic settings. This study aimed to characterize and evaluate reservoir intervals within the basin using an integrated approach combining well log analysis, seismic interpretation, and petrophysical assessments. Four reservoir intervals, labeled A-D, were identified through detailed well log analysis of gamma ray, resistivity, neutron, and density logs in four wells (B3 ST1, B10, B2, and B4) aligned in a southwest-northeast direction. Well log signature evaluation revealed a decrease in reservoir quality from the southwest (B10) towards the northeast (B3 ST1 and B4), as evidenced by diminishing electrical resistivity responses. This observation was corroborated by seismic mapping, which indicated a southward dip in the structural elevation of the reservoir beds. The updip/structurally higher positions were represented by B10 and B2, while B3 ST1 penetrated the downdip/structurally lower portion of the reservoirs. Seismic-to-well ties enabled the generation of structure maps for each reservoir top, facilitating the characterization of reservoir distribution and structural styles. Petrophysical assessments provided insights into key reservoir properties, including gross pay, net pay, porosity, and water saturation. The results suggest that the reservoirs have not reached their maximum potential and may involve both structural and stratigraphic trapping mechanisms due to lithological changes. This integrated approach has provided valuable insights into the reservoir characteristics and distribution within the Niger Delta Basin, which can inform future exploration and development strategies in the region

    No full text
This study examines upcycling activities for environmental awareness and creativity among primary school pupils in Nigeria. Upcycling, a process that involves creatively repurposing waste materials, offers a dual advantage of reducing waste and fostering creativity. It explores the integration of upcycling activities into the curriculum of Nigerian primary schools as an educational tool for promoting environmental sustainability and developing creativity. It highlights the environmental challenges faced by Nigeria, including inadequate waste management and growing waste accumulation and positions upcycling as a practical and cost-effective solution. Through upcycling, primary school pupils can gain hands-on experience in waste reduction, resource conservation, and innovative problem-solving. This approach not only raises awareness about environmental issues but also nurtures critical thinking, collaboration and artistic expression. The paper also addresses the challenges of implementing upcycling in Nigerian schools, such as limited resources, lack of teacher training and inconsistent waste management systems and offers useful suggestions for overcoming these barriers through partnerships, curriculum integration and localised solutions. By incorporating upcycling into primary education, Nigerian schools can empower pupils to take responsibility for their environment, inspire creative thinking and contribute to the broader goal of sustainable development. This initiative presents an opportunity to shape a generation of environmentally conscious, innovative and proactive citizens prepared to tackle the ecological challenges of the future
