INCOME DIVERSIFICATION CONSTRAINTS AMONG FARM HOUSEHOLDS IN THE NIGER DELTA REGION OF NIGERIA
This study investigated constraints limiting income diversification among farm households within Nigeria\u27s Niger Delta Region. A total of 360 respondents were selected through multistage, purposive, and random sampling methodologies. Primary data obtained via structured questionnaires underwent analysis using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Findings revealed that the principal constraints inhibiting non-farm income-generating activities included escalating costs of fuel and essential materials, deteriorated road infrastructure, and insufficient access to credit facilities. The study recommends governmental investment in modern, high-quality rural infrastructure to minimize entry barriers for both farm and non-farm ventures, thereby enabling households to maximize their productive capabilities and achieve enhanced diversification outcomes. Additionally, policymakers should expand access to affordable credit through various Credit Guarantee Scheme programs, subsidize agricultural inputs and equipment rental services to strengthen smallholder farmer productivity, and implement measures to ensure fuel affordability
INSECURITY AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA: CONTEXT OF FOURTH REPUBLIC
The main problem of Nigeria nowadays is the growth in insecurity. A major cause for concern is the frequency of wanton and ritual killings, kidnappings, property vandalism, Delta militancy, fraud, farmer-herder conflicts, banditry, religious conflicts, Boko haram insurgency, and interethnic disputes. Numerous times, crooked politicians and bad leadership are blamed for this terrible Nigerian experience. It is believed that leadership will serve as a catalyst for the coordination, effective distribution of good news, projection of visions, dissemination of knowledge, and implementation of excellent public policy. Unfortunately, Nigerian leadership is lacking greatly. Numerous persons in positions of power abuse such positions for their gain, the imposition and realization of personal interests, victimization, theft, the pursuit of rivals, and the poverty of the populace. In contrast, this lack of managerial and leadership skills has developed into a scary insecurity that is raging. The mounting anxiety prevents both domestic and foreign investment, poses a major risk to the safety of people and property, and obstructs the pursuit of sustainable development. This paper examined insecurity challenges and leadership in Nigeria from 1999-2023(Fourth Republic), the incidents of insecurity, and their implication on sustainable development. Secondary data collected from the internet, academic journals, books, and newspapers was used. The data was analyzed based on the content and descriptive statistics. This study recommends that the government must raise national intelligence to fight the menace and also policymakers to design and implement inclusive policies that mitigate violence

BIBLICAL CULTURE ON SEXUALITY AND ITS SOCIAL IMPLICATION ON THE CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY
This study explores the Biblical culture on sexuality and its social implication on the contemporary society through content analysis of relevant scriptural texts and scholarly literature. The background of the study is rooted in the growing moral decline and the increasing liberalization of sexual practices in modern societies, which often contradict biblical teachings. The problem addressed is the widening gap between biblical standards of sexual behaviour and prevailing societal norms, which has led to significant social, moral, and psychological consequences. The aim of the study is to examine biblical views on sexuality and assess their implications for contemporary social values. The objectives include identifying biblical teachings on various aspects of sexuality—such as sex and marriage, celibacy, oral sex and masturbation, pre-marital and extra-marital sex, prostitution, incest, and homosexuality—and evaluating their relevance and influence in today’s society. Using content analysis as the methodology, the study critically analyses scriptural passages and interprets their meanings in light of contemporary sexual ethics. Findings reveal that the Bible upholds sexual relations within the confines of marriage, condemns sexual immorality in all forms, and emphasizes purity, fidelity, and respect for the human body. The consequences of sexual sin, as outlined in Scripture, include spiritual separation from God and societal decay. Social implications observed include broken homes, rise in sexually transmitted infections, and moral confusion among youths. Recommendations include increased biblical literacy, sexual education grounded in Christian values, parental guidance, pastoral involvement, and the promotion of moral discipline. The study concludes that adherence to biblical sexual ethics offers a path to personal and societal transformation.
Mathematical Model for the dynamics of Kidnapping in Nigeria with Optimal Control
Kidnapping is regarded as one of the most terrifying types of banditry in the world. In Nigeria, it is a volent act use for perpetuating political objectives and interest by politicians. We developed a compartmentalized mathematical model for the dynamics of kidnapping activity. Total human population was sub-divided into S(t), I(t), U(t), R(t), K(t) and D(t), a system non-linear first order ordinary differential equations was developed. Two equilibrium points were established (kidnapper free equilibrium point and equilibrium point with kidnapping activity), stability analysis was carried out and the analytical result shows that the two equilibrium points are local asymptotically stable (LAS). The equilibrium point with kidnapping activity is globally asymptotically stable (GAS) provided that the condition of the Lyapunov function is satisfied. Additionally, the fundamental reproduction number or threshold number was calculated followed by numerical simulations to back up the analytical results
