Gujarati Translation and Psychometric Evaluation of the Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors–Short Form (CHIEF-SF) in Individuals with Spinal Cord Injury
Background: Environmental conditions strongly influence social participation and community reintegration following spinal cord injury (SCI). The Craig Hospital Inventory of Environmental Factors–Short Form (CHIEF-SF) is a well-recognised tool to assessing environmental barriers; however, a Gujarati version has not been available.
Objective: To translate, culturally adapt, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the CHIEF-SF for use with Gujarati-speaking individuals with SCI.
Methods: The adaptation followed Beaton et al.’s standardized protocol. Two independent forward translations were prepared, synthesized, and then backtranslated. An expert committee reviewed all versions to confirm semantic, idiomatic, and conceptual accuracy. Pre-testing was conducted with 30 participants to ensure clarity and cultural fit. The finalized version was administered to a larger SCI sample for psychometric testing. Validity and reliability were assessed through content validity index (CVI), Cronbach’s alpha, intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC), standard error of measurement (SEM), minimal detectable change (MDC), and construct validity.
Results: Content validity was excellent (S-CVI/Ave = 0.91). Internal consistency was high (Cronbach’s α = 0.87). Test–retest reliability was excellent (ICC = 0.92, 95% CI: 0.88–0.95). SEM and MDC95 values indicated acceptable precision. Construct validity was supported through significant negative correlations with participation measures (r = –0.62, p < 0.01).
Conclusion: The Gujarati CHIEF-SF is a valid and reliable measure of environmental barriers in individuals with SCI and can support both clinical practice and policy development in Gujarat.

Phytochemical and Anticancer Evaluation of Vernonia amygdalina Leaf Extract
This study examines the phytochemical composition and anticancer potential of Vernonia amygdalina (bitter leaf) leaf extracts, focusing on the influence of solvent polarity on the extraction of bioactive compounds. Among all ethanol–water mixtures tested, the 50% ethanol extract showed the highest yield, containing abundant flavonoids, phenolics, and saponins—key constituents known for their antioxidant, cytotoxic, and antiproliferative effects. UV–Vis spectrophotometry and HPLC confirmed the superior bioactive content of this extract. Major compounds such as luteolin, chlorogenic acid, and vernodalin demonstrated mechanisms linked to anticancer activity, including apoptosis induction, oxidative stress modulation, and inhibition of cell cycle progression. Overall, the findings highlight V. Amygdalina as a promising source of anticancer phytochemicals with potential applications in cancer therapy or nutraceutical development. However, further work involving standardized extraction, toxicological evaluation, and clinical studies is essential. Future research should explore compound isolation, detailed mechanistic studies, and the development of advanced formulations to support its evidence-based use in oncology.

EVALUATION OF THE EFFICACY OF PIX LIQUIDA FOR ALOPECIA AREATA: A CASE REPORT
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disease primarily characterized by visible, non-scarring hair loss in various parts of the head. Alopecic patches generally have a discoid form but sometimes shape may vary from discoid forms. Every age group and both genders are impacted by the condition. Alopecia areata is caused by impairment in the hair follicle's immune system. A thirty year old man was consulted for alopecia areata. The patient was prescribed Pix Liquida, a homoeopathic medication. Alopecia severity was assessed using the Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) score. The patient recovered after using the homoeopathic medication Pix Liquida.

NUTRITIONAL ASSESSMENT AND STUDY OF AN AYURVEDIC PAUSTIK BISCUIT FORMULATED WITH RAGI, MUDGA, AND SHALI ON SCHOOL GOING CHILDREN OF INDIA
Malnutrition among school-going children remains a major challenge in developing countries, leading to growth retardation and low immunity (1). The present clinical study was conducted to evaluate the impact of an Ayurvedic, diet-based formulation — Paustik Biscuit, prepared from Ragi (Eleusine coracana), Mudga (Vigna radiata), and Shali (Oryza sativa) — on nutritional and growth parameters among primary school children in Patan district, Gujarat. The intervention was based on classical Ayurvedic principles of Brimhana and Rasayana chikitsa (2,3). Each child received one standardized biscuit daily during the intervention period under supervision. Anthropometric parameters such as height, weight, BMI, and mid-arm circumference were recorded before and after intervention. Post-intervention analysis revealed significant improvement in mean BMI and weight, particularly among underweight children (5,6). The results suggest that Paustik Biscuit can serve as a cost-effective and culturally acceptable dietary supplement for improving child nutrition in school settings (7). The study follows the CONSORT guidelines for clinical trials and the DID-METAB 2025 checklist as recommended for diet-based interventions (8).

Scope of Homoepathic Medicine Natrum Mur aticum in case of Allergic Rhinitis –A Case report
Allergic rhinitis (AR) is a hypersensitivity response of the nasal mucous membrane to specific allergens. It affects over 400 million people globally. A 45-year-old male presented to the clinic on 15/03/2024 with rhinitis and urticaria of allergic origin. He was diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. Based on the totality of symptoms, Natrum muriaticum 200 was prescribed. The patient showed considerable improvement in both allergic rhinitis and urticaria. Marked improvement was also observed on the Japanese Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (JRQLQ)

Marker Based Standardisation of Saptang Guggul Using HPTLC Validated Method for Guggulsterone, Gingerol, Gallic Acid, Piperine Quantification
For the purpose of standardizing Saptang Guggul, a straightforward, accurate, and precise High-Performance Thin-Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) method was created and approved, a classical Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation. The method involved estimation of [insert key marker compounds, e.g., guggulsterone, gallic acid, etc.] using a suitable mobile phase and detection wavelength. Validation was done in compliance with ICH rules, assessing linearity, accuracy, precision, specificity, & robustness. The developed method provides an effective tool for quality control and standardization of Saptang Guggul.

Comparative Study of Determinants of Nutritional Status of School Children in Different Indian Cities
Childhood undernutrition and overnutrition coexist in urban India, reflecting socioeconomic and regional disparities. This study compares the nutritional status of school-age children across seven major Indian cities—Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata—using data from National Family Health Survey-5 (2019–21). Key indicators including stunting, wasting, underweight, and overweight are examined along with household, maternal, and environmental determinants. The findings highlight marked inter-city variation and underscore the role of maternal education, household wealth, sanitation, and urban living conditions in shaping child nutritional outcomes.

Comparative Evaluation of Centesimal and Fifty-Millesimal (LM) Potencies in the Homoeopathic Management of Psoriasis: A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial
Background Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory dermatosis with significant physical and psychosocial burden. Homoeopathy employs individualised prescribing using different potency scales, most commonly centesimal and fifty-millesimal (LM) potencies. Comparative clinical evidence between these potency scales remains limited. Objective To compare the clinical effectiveness of individualised homoeopathic treatment using centesimal and LM potencies in patients with psoriasis. Methods This study was conducted as a pilot randomized controlled trial at the outpatient department of Jawaharlal Nehru Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital. Ten patients with clinically diagnosed psoriasis were randomly allocated into two parallel groups: LM potency group (n = 5) and centesimal potency group (n = 5). In both groups, remedies were selected on an individualised basis according to classical homoeopathic principles; the potency scale was the only variable. Disease severity was assessed using the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) at baseline and after six months. Statistical analysis included paired and independent t-tests
Impact of Poor Oral Health on Overall Health: A Systematic Review
Suboptimal oral health is a very common but often ignored societal health issue with serious overall health consequences. Dental caries, periodontal disease, and tooth loss, as oral diseases, impact billions of people around the globe and have been identified as drivers of systemic inflammation, chronic disease development, and poor quality of life. This systematic review presents the modern peer-reviewed evidence on the relationship between poor oral health and systemic health outcomes. Predefined keywords related to the topics of oral health and systemic disease were used to search databases such as PubMed, Scopus, CINAHL, and Google Scholar. It included 15 high-quality peer-reviewed studies, such as systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and extensive population-based studies. The results show that there are consistent relationships between poor oral health and cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, respiratory illnesses, poor pregnancy outcomes, and elevated mortality. Some of the biological processes that relate to oral and systemic health are chronic inflammation, microbial translocation, and immune dysregulation. The review emphasizes the need to incorporate oral health in primary care, chronic diseases, and health policy. Pareto-Optimized Deep Neural Network Framework for Multi-Objective Dengue Severity Classification
Early and accurate prediction of dengue severity is critical for timely clinical intervention and reducing disease-related mortality. Traditional machine learning methods often struggle to simultaneously achieve high predictive accuracy, computational efficiency, and model scalability. To overcome these limitations, we propose a Pareto-Optimized Deep Neural Network (PO-DNN) framework that employs multi-objective optimization to minimize validation loss, computational cost, and model complexity. The framework generates a set of Pareto-optimal architectures, enabling a trade-off between predictive performance and operational efficiency. Using a preprocessed clinical dataset with 25 selected features, the PO-DNN was trained and evaluated via 10-fold cross-validation. Experimental results show that PO-DNN attains 96.8% accuracy, 95.7% recall, 97.1% precision, 96.4% F1-score, and an AUC of 0.975, outperforming baseline classifiers including SVM (87.3%), KNN (89.1%), Random Forest (91.0%), and conventional DNN (92.6%). Additionally, model optimization reduced average inference time to 1.9 ms per instance and compressed model size by 32%, demonstrating suitability for real-time deployment. These results highlight PO-DNN as a robust, efficient, and clinically applicable tool for dengue severity prediction.
