Testing Modified Gravity with Large-Scale Structure Surveys: Probing Dark Matter and Cosmic Acceleration

    Get PDF
The accelerated expansion of the Universe, first discovered through Type Ia supernova observations, has prompted significant investigations into the underlying physics driving cosmic acceleration. While the standard ΛCDM model explains many cosmological observations, it suffers from theoretical challenges such as the fine-tuning of the cosmological constant and discrepancies in the growth rate of large-scale structures. Modified gravity theories offer an alternative framework to explain the observed acceleration without invoking dark energy as a separate entity. This paper examines how large-scale structure (LSS) surveys—including galaxy clustering, weak gravitational lensing, baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO), and redshift-space distortions (RSD)—provide stringent observational constraints on deviations from General Relativity. By analyzing the signatures predicted by modified gravity models such as f(R)f(R)f(R) gravity, scalar-tensor theories, and massive gravity, we assess their consistency with current data and explore their potential to resolve tensions within the ΛCDM paradigm. The results indicate that future surveys like Euclid, DESI, and LSST will play a crucial role in distinguishing between modified gravity and standard dark energy scenarios, offering insights into the nature of dark matter, structure formation, and fundamental physics governing cosmic acceleration

The place of pedagogical abilities in pedagogical activity

    Get PDF
One of the important aspects in pedagogical activity is pedagogical ability. Pedagogical ability is one of these types of abilities, which determines the suitability of a person for pedagogical activity and the fact that he can successfully engage in this activity. In pedagogical psychology, effective research has been carried out on the scientific interpretation of the place of pedagogical abilities in pedagogical activity. The so-called pedagogical abilities characterize both the mental side of the individual and the emotional-volitional side. All these qualities are interlinked with each other, acting on each other and forming a whole. In psychology, abilities are defined as such: abilities are an individual-psychological feature that is considered a condition for the successful implementation of this activity of an individual and becomes inconsistent in the differences that arise in the dynamics of acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this

    Get PDF
The widespread use of antiscalants in water purifiers has become essential for preventing scale formation and enhancing the operational efficiency of membrane-based and thermal water treatment systems. However, the long-term implications of antiscalant use on human health and the environment are emerging as significant concerns. This review critically examines the chemical composition of commonly used antiscalants, their degradation products, and potential toxicity. Continuous exposure to residual antiscalants in drinking water may pose health risks, including gastrointestinal disturbances, renal stress, and bioaccumulation of certain heavy metal

Double Jeopardy Reimagined: Gendered Racism in the Retelling of the Ramayana in Amish Tripathi’s Ramachandra Series

    Get PDF
Gendered Racism is considered to be the idea of double jeopardy because the individual is discriminated with two excluded identities. It is clearly projected in the myths like Ramayana and Mahabharata. Mythology serves as a guide for the formation of society. Through its social and economic hierarchy, every nation formulates its ideologies that facilitate the division of classes. Class differences not only create stagnation but also feed prejudice and gender inequity in society. Amish Tripathi is popular for his mythological series Ramachandra series highlights his characters by speaking for themselves, refuting traditional ethics made them strong, defy convention, remain truthful to the spirit of inquiry, master the secret art of perseverance, and carve out a place for themselves in a world that always appears to be working against them. This article exposes and analysis the sufferings of household women, abuse of lassie and depicts the social construct of disability and also proves that double jeopardy leads the humanity into the path of destruction

Therapeutic Effect of Virechana (Therapeutic purgation) on Insulin Resistance among Prediabetic Individuals: A Case Series

    Get PDF
Background: Prediabetes is a state of impaired glucose regulation strongly linked with insulin resistance, obesity, and metabolic dysfunction. It carries a high risk of progression to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and associated cardiovascular and microvascular complications. Conventional management relies on lifestyle modification, but adherence is often challenging. Ayurveda describes Prameha as a Bahudoshaja Vyadhi, in which Shodhana therapies are recommended in the early stages. Among these, Virechana Karma (therapeutic purgation) is considered the prime intervention for Kapha–Pitta predominant conditions. Objective: To evaluate the effect of Virechana Karma on insulin resistance, glycaemic indices, and lipid parameters in individuals with prediabetes. Methodology: This case series included three prediabetic patients aged 39–52 years who met the American Diabetes Association (ADA) criteria and were clinically fit for Virechana. The intervention involved a standard protocol comprising Deepana-Pachana, Snehapana, Abhyanga, Swedana, and administration of Trivrut Lehyam for purgation, followed by Samsarjana Krama. Key assessment parameters included fasting serum insulin, HOMA-IR, fasting and postprandial blood sugar, and lipid profile, measured before and after therapy. Results: All participants achieved Madhyama Shuddhi and demonstrated improvements in metabolic parameters. Fasting serum insulin and HOMA-IR values decreased, indicating enhanced insulin sensitivity. Both fasting and postprandial blood sugar levels declined, reflecting better glycemic control. Lipid parameters showed favorable modulation, with reductions in total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and VLDL levels. HDL changes varied, though overall cholesterol/HDL and LDL/HDL ratios improved, suggesting a healthier cardiometabolic profile. Conclusion: Virechana Karma produced a notable reduction in insulin resistance and improved glycemic and lipid parameters among prediabetic individuals. These findings support its potential role as an early Ayurvedic intervention to restore metabolic balance and delay progression to T2DM. Larger clinical studies are warranted to validate these preliminary observations

Lindernia dubia (L.) Pennell a least concerned emergent plant belong to the family linderniaceae was subjected to micropropagation technique for the standardization of in vitro direct organogenesis protocol. The experiment was carried out to explore, conserve and increase the distribution of the plant via aseptic condition and this serves as the first report of this plant species. Nodal segment from the elite mother plant was excised, surface sterilized and inoculated in Plant Growth Regular (PGR) Free MS basal medium for organogenesis following the standard plant tissue culture procedure. The strength of the MS salt was altered for obtaining the best regeneration capacity in both the medium. The result showed that half strength - Plant Growth Regulator free medium regenerated more plantlets from the selected explant than the other medium. In Hormone free MS media, only MS salt, Carbon source and B5 Vitamins were added. After a month of inoculation, the developed shootlets were sub cultured and raw data's for shoot & root number, length were calculated at 25 th and 50th day from incubation. Statistical interpretations like ANOVA and Tukeys Multiple comparision Analysis were performed for significance. The regeneration percentage was 100 in all the sets. So, from the study it is concluded that the plant naturally possess essential growth regulators for its vegetative phase and under artificial conditions like in vitro conditions they doesn’t require specific growth regulators.   &nbsp

Successful Management of Pyogenic Liver Abscess in a 39-Year-Old Male through Ayurveda: Case Study

    Get PDF
Liver abscesses are a significant clinical condition characterized by localized pus collection within the liver parenchyma. This condition is correlated with a disorder described in Ayurveda texts; known as Yakrut vidradhi (liver abscess). A liver abscess is a type of Abhyantar Vidradhi; that refers to an internal abscess. In India, studies have estimated the prevalence of pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) to be approximately 0.022-0.031% (22-31 cases per 100,000 individuals). The condition is significantly associated with risk factors such as alcohol consumption and diabetes. In South Asia, the incidence has been increasing, with Taiwan reporting a prevalence of 0.012% to 0.018% (12 to 18 cases per 100,000 people). Klebsiella Pneumoniae is the most common pathogen, particularly in patients with comorbidities like diabetes. This case study discusses a 39-year-old male admitted with complaints of nausea, abdominal pain primarily in the right hypochondriac region, general weakness, and intermittent fever. Laboratory tests, including hematological investigations and liver function tests, along with imaging studies, confirmed the presence of a pyogenic liver abscess. The patient was successfully managed through Ayurveda treatment using multiple polyherbal formulations. This case emphasizes the importance of early detection and intervention to prevent complications
