L'emigrazione in Belgio.

Drawing on an analysis of data from both national and international contexts, this article reflects onthe marginalized condition affecting female students with disabilities through the lens of the Intersectionality Approach. It proposes a reevaluation ofschool policies and educational practices with an emancipatory perspective. Special emphasis is given to the strategic role of PCTOs (Paths for TransversalSkills and Orientation) in facilitating the transition from school to work and the need to co‐construct orientation paths that are sensitive to gender dif‐ferences and aimed at fostering the development of skills necessary for independent living
Structural design and lifecycle analysis of an orthotropic steel deck bascule bridge
This study presents the structural design and lifecycle analysis of an orthotropic steel deck (OSD) bascule bridge in Viareggio (Italy), considering various operational states and constraints. The analysis varied the bridge’s opening angle in 15-degree increments from 0 to 90 degrees, using two steel grades, S355 and S450, by comparing hydraulic or electro-mechanically driven activation mechanisms. The findings reveal that as the static model transitions from pinned-pinned to cantilevered when the bridge is opened, the structural demand for bending moment and shear force increases, with a maximum of nearly 15◦–30◦. At the same time, axial forces shift from tensile to compressive. Structural design has been carried out using higher grade steel (S450), which has led to a 17.17% mass reduction, cost savings of 3.4%, and a notable decrease in CO2 emissions by 16%. This proves that despite using higher-grade steel characterized by more significant CO2 emissions, the mass reduction associated with the refined design leads to an overall lower environmental footprint. This fact underscores the importance of selecting proper steel grades for steel to achieve an optimal trade-off between CO2 emissions and mass reduction

Preventing Dysgraphia: Early Observation Protocols and a Technological Framework for Monitoring and Enhancing Graphomotor Skills
Writing is first-order instrumental learning that develops throughout the life cycle, a complex process evolving from early childhood education. The identification of risk predictors of dysgraphia at age 5 has the potential to significantly reduce the impact of graphomotor difficulties in early primary school, which affects handwriting performance to such an extent that it can become illegible. Building on established scientific literature, this study focuses on screening processes, with particular attention to writing requirements. This paper proposes a novel prevention and intervention system based on new technologies for teachers and educators or therapists. Specifically, it presents a pilot study testing an innovative tactile device to analyze graphomotor performance and motor coordination in real time. The research explores whether this haptic device can be used as an effective pedagogical aid for preventing graphomotor issues in children aged 5 to 6 years. The results showed a high level of engagement and usability among young participants. Furthermore, the quality of graphomotor traces, respectively executed by children after virtual and physical training, were comparable, supporting the use of the tool as a complementary training resource for the observation and enhancement of graphomotor processes
The Inclusive University: Practices and reflections for student community well-being
Following the 2030 Agenda (UN, 2015), the growth of an inclusive culture in higher education contexts contemplates the strategic value of promoting the university community well-being, starting from each person’s contribution (Priestley et al., 2022). According to Article 30 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006), providing opportunities to support study and university life means moving from a logic of needs to a logic of rights. In that sense, the University of Macerata promotes the psycho-physical and social well-being of its students, developing empowerment processes (Barbuto, 2018; Taddei, 2020) that guarantee a more equal participation in university life. In this paper, we will present the format Inclusion 3.0 which, starting from the “Voice” (Grion, 2017; D’Angelo et al., 2020) of university students with disabilities and SLDs (Giaconi, Del Bianco, 2018; Giaconi et al., 2018), embodies an innovative perspective for University as a place of well-being
Body-related data visualization. A study for design guidelines.
This contribution is part of a broader research project entitled Human Body Interaction Design (HBID) started at the Advanced Design Unit of the University of Bologna in 2021. Consistently with the arguments addressed over the years, this recent part of the research investigates the theme of the relationship between body, data and environment while focusing on the user. Specifically, it explores the world of applications relating to the monitoring of body parameters through devices, i.e. the increasingly widespread phenomenon of the Quantified Self. The objective of the research is to understand the most effective ways of representing body parameter data through device applications, aiming at the final elaboration of an online tool that can serve as a support for designers in the future design of this type of data visualization. Starting from an initial state-of-the-art and preliminary research phase, the research then focused on the collection and systemization of case studies and the elaboration of qualitative and quantitative tests The contribution summarizes the outputs of these firsts phase, highlighting the gaps recognized as priorities in this type of design project and providing some indications on how to approach some of the problems that emerged
