    Effect of Lime and Waste Stone Powder Variation On the pH Values, Moisture Content and Dry Density of Clayey Soil

    This paper reports an investigation of the influence of waste stone powder and lime on the geotechnical properties of clayey soil. The compaction and changes in the chemical properties of the soil with pH test when mixed with varying proportions of waste stone powder and lime were investigated. Thus, the effectiveness of using Waste Stone Powder (WSP) and lime for preliminary laboratory tests including grain size analysis, PH test and standard Proctor compaction tests for stabilizing fine-grained clayey soil (CL) was investigated in the laboratory. The percentage of lime and WSP used on the samples varied from 0 to 11%, which treatment of the samples with lime and WSP content show that the optimal moisture and maximum dry density values of the samples were changed. The results show increasing in the pH value of clayey soil with increasing amount of waste stone powder and lime. And the optimal moisture content increased with increasing lime and WSP content for all the samples. Also the maximum dry density decreased with increasing lime, whereas the maximum dry density increased with increasing WSP content. The behavior of the geotechnical properties of the clayey soil when blended with waste stone powder and lime indicates that these materials are a good modifier for this soil

    Abstract We have investigated a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Kaluz-Klien space time with cosmic strings in the presence of Sen Dunn theory as source. Exact solutions of the Einstein field equations are presented via a suitable power law assumption. Some of models obey geometric strings, massive strings and Takabayasi’s equation of state .We find that the constant value of deceleration parameter is reasonable for the present day universe. Some physical and geometric behaviour of the models are also discussed

    In the current study, the effects of stacking sequence layers of hybrid composite materials on ballistic energy absorption, which were fabricated from Kevlar, carbon, glass fibres and resin have been experimentally investigated at the high velocity ballistic impact conditions. All the samples have equal mass, shape and density, but they have different stacking sequence layers. After running the ballistic test in the same conditions, the final velocities of the bullets showed that how much energy absorbed by the samples. The energy absorption of each sample through the ballistic impact has been calculated, accordingly , the decent ballistic impact resistance materials could be found by conducting the test. This paper can be further studied in order to characterise the material properties

    This paper describes erosion characteristics of high velocity oxy fuel (H.V.O.F.) along with commonly used steels 16Cr5Ni in Turbine and studied the comparison the effect of erosion at Different Velocities of the slurry on Cr2O3 and CrC-NiCr coating on steel. The four different ranges of velocity is taken i.e. 35m/s, 50m/s ,60and 70m/s. at normal impact angle and comparison regarding the erosion resistance was determined from the mass loss results.     By Using Model Shift and Improving The Walking Facilities: A Case Study In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

    The recent increase in privately owned vehicles has caused numerous problems: traffic congestions, unnecessary fuel lost and global warming are only few of these problems. This study will try to understand people’s behavior and modal choice and try to sway them to means of public transportation. A survey of mode choice between cars users in a neighborhood in Kuala Lumpur was conducted. A total of 25 surveys were collected over the course of a month. Among data collected were demographic details such as age, gender, educational level and travel behavior. The data was processed by SPSS software to determine which factors encourages and discourages using private, public transportation or walking. The study highlighted four models travel time reduction, travel cost reduction, and increase the parking charges and improves the walking facility. The sensitivity analysis results show that the main attraction that might switch private car users is travel time and improving the walking facility. The consequences of these would be less traffic on the roads contributing to less pollution and greater safety

    In this paper, the effect of magnetic field on I-V characteristics of a silicon solar cell of n+pp+ structure is studied in dark and illumination modes. In dark, both the current and the voltage decrease with increasing the magnetic field in forward bias. However in reverse bias, the behavior is different. Under illumination, the effect of magnetic field on I-V characteristics of the silicon solar cell is studied experimentally and simulated using Neural Network Algorithm (NNA). Both short circuit current (Isc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) are measured under the influence of magnetic field. The solar cell efficiency and the fill factor (FF) are calculated without and with the magnetic field. This performance testing of the solar cell under magnetic field can be considered as one of the non-destructive reliability tools

    Insilico Identification of Potent Inhibitor from Andrographis Paniculata for ESBLs

    The study aimed at docking of TEM - 52 & modeled CTX – M -13 by ethanol extracted compounds from Andrographis paniculata and to predict their binding efficiency. BLAST-P was performed to retrieve suitable templates for homology-modeling using the bla CTX-M sequences obtained from Genbank.  Protein Data Bank (PDB) IDs of these templates were retrieved. Models were prepared using Swiss-Model-Server and verified by Procheck and 3D programmes RAMPAGE was used to prepare Ramachandran plots.   The 13 - Hexyl - oxa - cyclotridec - 10 - En- 2 - one was selected as ligand for this docking study from the data generated by Mass spectrometry analysis of methanol extracted compounds from Andrographis paniculata. The structure was drawn manually with aid of JME and its drug likeliness & molecular properties was calculated using Pre Admet server.  Docking was performed by using docking server. Since the docking results proved that the amino acid residues Ser70,Ser 130,Ser237,Arg 276 and Thr235 of CTX-M-13 (enzyme) make important contacts with the ligand, researchers are expected to duly utilize this information for designing more potent and CTX - M inhibitors

    This study aimed to evaluate the factors used for develop a best model of multiple indirect effect among latent constructs by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) on volunteerism program as a research subject. The data be collected through questionnaires distributed at four higher education institution. This questionnaire is constructed based on four dimension which is motivation, benefits, goverment support, and  barrier  The data were distributed by using stratified sampling technique and involving 453 respodents  . In this case, the data were analyzed by using Analysis Moment of Structural (AMOS) 18.0 in order to examine the influence of exogenous and endogenous variables. As a result showed that the goverment support is significant and direct influences on motivation, benefits, and barrier. Moreover, the benefits and barrier is significant and direct influence on motivation. In generals, the findings revealed that benefits influence is most crucial for motivation of volunteerism

    Biomonitoring of Zn pollution by using Leaves, Stems and Roots of a Medicinal Plant Centella Asiatica

    In this study, three parts (leaves, stems and roots) of Centella asiatica and surface soils were collected from 11 geographical sampling sites in Peninsular Malaysia. Ranges of Zn concentrations (µg/g dw) in soil was 102.70-826.11 while 81.16-198.56 for leaves, 56.27-146.93 for stems and 95.72-285.00 for roots. In C. asiatica, Zn accumulation was found the highest in roots followed by leaves and stems. Correlation analysis based on Zn concentrations between the three parts of plants and soils were found to be significantly (P< 0.05) correlated (root-soil, R= 0.973; leaves-soils, R= 0.955; stem-soils, R= 0.952). For the transplantation study, three sites were selected as unpolluted (UPM), semi-polluted (Balakong) and polluted sites (Sg. Juru). Based on transplantation study under experimental field and laboratory conditions, Zn concentrations in the leaves, stems and roots of C. asiatica were significantly (P< 0.05) higher after three weeks. The Zn accumulation was the highest in Sg. Juru, followed by Balakong and UPM which were in accordance with the Zn contamination levels in the soils. Thus, these experimental findings confirmed that leaves, stems and roots can reflect the Zn levels in the soils where C. asiatica were found. After three weeks of back transplantation to clean soils, the Zn levels in the three parts were still higher than the initial Zn level even though elimination occurred. In conclusion, all the above findings indicated that the leaves, stems and roots of asiatica are good biomonitors of Zn pollution
