    Get PDF
Cloud computing is making a big revolution in the field of information technology thereby reducing capital expenditures spent. Computing is delivered as a service enabling effective utilization of computational resources. Certain security issues exist which prevents individuals and industries from using clouds despite its advantages. Resolving such problems may increase the usage of cloud thereby reducing the amount spent for resources. The paper focuses on one of the three service delivery models, Platform-as-a-Service(PaaS). PaaS model, layers in PaaS and PaaS providers are described along with the security issues encountered in PaaS clouds. The issues along with solutions discussed provide an insight into PaaS security for both providers and users which may help in future PaaS design and implementation

The inverters have to be designed to obtain a quality output voltage or a current waveform with a minimum amount of ripple content. In high power and high voltage applications the conventional two level inverters, however, have some limitations in operating at high frequency mainly due to switching losses and constraints of the power device ratings. Series and parallel combination of power switches in order to achieve the power handling voltages and currents. The conventional two level inverters produce THD levels around 60% even under normal operating conditions which are undesirable and cause more losses and other power quality problems too on the AC drives and utilities. Nowadays, multilevel inverters are widely used in power industry. Voltage unbalance problem is one of the major issues in working of multilevel inverter. In this paper, a three phase H-bridge + H-type FCMLI using sinusoidal reference, third harmonic injection reference, 60 degree reference and stepped wave reference are initially developed using SIMULINK and then implemented in real time environment using dSPACE. The five level output voltages of the chosen MLIs obtained using the MATLAB and dSPACE based PWM strategies and the corresponding % THD, VRMS (fundamental) , CF and FF are presented and analyzed. It is observed that bipolar COPWM-C provides output with relatively low distortion for sine reference and bipolar COPWM-B strategy is found to perform better since it provides relatively higher fundamental RMS output voltage for 60 degree reference

Novel Design of Reversible MUX and DEMUX using GDI Techinque

    Get PDF
Now a day’s Reversible logic is playing a crucial role in designing of digital circuits and it is used in reducing power consumption in digital design. By regaining the bit loss it reduces the power consumption in digital circuits. Gate diffusion input (GDI) is a technique of low-power digital circuit design. This technique reduces the power consumption, delay, and transistor count by maintaining the complexity very low of logic design. In these paper a novel MUX and DEMUX has been presented, which can be extended up to 1:2n and 2n:1 respectively  and these are developed by using only one type of Reversible gate i.e. Fredkin Gate (FRG) and Not Gate. The simulations are done in H-Spice using 90nm technology

Evaluation of h- and g-indices of Scientific Authors using Modified K-Means Clustering Algorithm

    Get PDF
In this paper we proposed modified K-means algorithm to assess scientific authors performance by using their h,g-indices values. K-means suffers from poor computational scaling and efficiency as the number of clusters has to be supplied by the user. Hence, in this work, we introduce a modification of K-means algorithm that efficiently searches the data to cluster points by compute the sum of squares within each cluster which makes the program to select the most promising subset of classes for clustering. The proposed algorithm was tested on IRIS and ZOO data sets as well as on our local dataset comprising of h- and g-indices, which are the prominent markers for scientific excellence of authors publishing papers in various national and international journals. Results from analysis reveal that the modified k-means algorithm is much faster and outperforms the conventional algorithm in terms of clustering performance, measured by the data discrepancy factor

Performance and Analysis of Automatic Detection Of Ground-Glass Pattern in Lung Disease using High-Resolution Computed Tomography

    Get PDF
This study proposes an approach for automatic detection of Ground glass pattern, a lung disease, from Computed Tomography (CT) and High Resolution Computed Tomography (HRCT) scans of the lung. The algorithm is based on frequency spectrum analysis of image using Gabor filter bank. Gabor filter banks are used to support the frequency extraction process. These algorithms when applied to HRCT images will assist doctors to gain more information than from the CT images. The tasks are completed in three steps: Preliminary mask formation, Peripheral mask formation and finally post processing. By these, higher sensitivity and selectivity may be achieved with fast processing time. In the post processing, binary noise removal technique is used to remove noise from the detection mask

Hospitality is one of the important sectors in the growth of the Indonesian Economy, which it continues to increase each year. But on the other hand it also has a negative impact. The higher use of the hotel, the higher the resource and energy expended to serve the guests of the hotel. This study aims to determine the implementation of sustainable development concept of Hotel A in Surabaya. This hotel is under auspices of the Accor Group, one of international hotel management groups, which already implemented the concept of sustainable development. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher using qualitative analysis techniques to process the primary and secondary data obtained, to find the answer on how far the application of sustainable development at the Hotel A. The research results show that Hotel A has conducted various measures to support sustainable development in several aspects. But they just apply 3 of 7 pillars of ecology as envisioned by the Accor Group. This study shows the aspects of eco-friendly management that can be carried out by a hotel.

Investigation of Neem Fatty Acid Ethyl Ester for Electric Power Generation

    Get PDF
Producing an efficient alternative renewable fuel for power generation is the solution for today’s power crisis. As the oil prices are increasing day- by- day and the fossil fuels are depleting, why to rely on the fossil fuels for energy?. One of the alternative fuels is bio-fuel which can be obtained from sewage, garbage and waste vegetable oils which would otherwise be difficult to dispose leading to pollution. Biodiesel is a substitute for petroleum-based diesel which is derived from vegetable oils by the process of trans-esterification. Biodiesel is prevalently used as automobile fuel. Ethyl esters produced by trans-esterification can be used for rural electrification. In this paper, the electrified quality output obtained using different blends of ethyl ester with diesel and the efficiencies for each blend and pure diesel are studied and the results show that power generation using ethyl ester for rural population will be efficient, reliable and economical

Commodity Price Data Analysis Using Web Scraping

    Get PDF
Today, analysis of data which is available on the web has become more popular, by using such data we are capable to solve many issues. Our project deals with the analysis of commodity price data available on the web. In general, commodity price data analysis is performed to know inflation rate prevailing in the country and also to know cost price index (CPI). Presently in some countries this analysis is done manually by collecting data from different cities, then calculate inflation and CPI using some predefined formulae. To make this entire process automatic we are developing this project. Now a day’s most of the customers are depending on online websites for their day to day purchases. This is the reason we are implementing a system to collect the data available in various e-commerce sites for commodity price analysis. Here, we are going to introduce a data scraping technique which enables us to collect data of various products available online and then store it in a database there after we perform analysis on them. By this process we can reduce the burden of collecting data manually by reaching various cities. The system consists of web module which perform analysis and visualization of data available in the database

Resistivity Studies On Mn Site Substituted LCMSO Manganites

    Get PDF
Effect of Mn-site disorder in La0.67Ca0.33Mn1-xSbxO3 (LCMSO) created by the substitution of Sb5+ at Mn-site is studied through X-ray diffraction (XRD) and temperature dependent resistivity measurements to identify the role of size mismatch at Mn-site and their resistivity property correlations. XRD patterns collected at room temperature for all the LCMSO samples reveal single phasic nature without any detectable impurities within the measurement range studied. XRD data shows that all the samples possess orthorhombic structure without any structural phase transition. Variation in resistivity with Sb5+ content has been discussed in detail in the context of modifications in the structural and magnetic lattices and structural disorder

An Enhanced Lossless Color Filter Array Image Compression Based On Predictive Adaptive Arithmetic Coding

    Get PDF
Most consumer digital cameras use a single image light sensor which provides color information using color filter array(CFA).This  provided a mosaic images, in which each pixel position contains only one color component in case of Bayer CFA Pattern. This paper produced a CFA hierarchical prediction scheme based on context adaptive coding. In CFA hierarchical scheme, the green pixels were subdivided into two sets .  was encoded by a gray scale conventional method and  was  predicted based on . The red pixels were predicted using both the sets of green pixels and blue pixels were predicted using red and green. The predictors were designed based on direction of the edges in the neighborhood. Using the prediction information, the magnitude of prediction error was also determined and context adaptive arithmetic coding was applied to reduce bits. The simulated results on CFA images showed that the proposed method gives less bits per pixel than the recently developed CFA compression algorithms
