Design of Robust Load Frequency Controller for Multi-Area Interconnected Power System Using SDO Software
The response of the load frequency control problem in multi-area interconnected electrical power system is much more complex with increasing size, changing structure and increasing load. This paper deals with Load Frequency Control of three area interconnected Power system incorporating Reheat, Non-reheat and Reheat turbines in all areas respectively. The response of the load frequency control problem in a multi-area interconnected power system is improved by designing PID controller using different tuning techniques and proved that the PID controller which was designed by Simulink Design Optimization (SDO) Software gives the superior performance than other controllers for step perturbations. Finally the robustness of controller was checked against system parameter variations.
Identification of a Non-Linear System Using Volterra Series Model with Calculated Kernels by Legendre Orthogonal Function
Modeling and identification of non-linear systems have gained lots of attentions especially in industrial processes. Most of the actual systems have non-linear behavior and the first and simplest solution in modeling such systems is to linearize them which in most cases the result of linearization is not satisfactory. In this paper, modeling of non-linear systems is investigated using Volterra series model based on Legendre orthogonal function. Expansion of Volterra series kernels by Legendre orthogonal functions causes a reduction in the number of model parameters; hence, complexity of calculations would be decreased. Besides, if the free parameter is selected properly in these orthogonal functions, error is reduced and convergence speed of parameters is increased which leads to an increase in identification accuracy. In this paper, identification of non-linear system is presented with Volterra series expanded by Legendre function and PSO algorithm is used to calculate the optimum free parameters of Legendre function. Finally, in order to validate the efficacy and accuracy, the proposed algorithm is implemented on a non-linear system i.e. heat exchanger with actual dat
Federer Measures, Good and Nonplanar Functions of Metric Diophantine Approximation
The goal of this paper is to generalize the main results of [1] and subsequent papers on metric Diophantine approximation with dependent quantities to the set-up of systems of linear forms. In particular, we establish “joint strong extremality” of arbitrary finite collection of smooth nondegenerate submani- folds of .The proof was based on quantitative nondivergence estimates for quasi-polynomial flows on the space of lattices

The research work is to improve the segmentation of the color satellite images. In this proposed method the color satellite image can be segmented by using Tsallis entropy and granular computing methods with the help of cuckoo search algorithm. The Tsallis and granular computing methods will used to find the maximum possibility of threshold limits and the cuckoo search will find the optimized threshold values based on threshold limit that is calculated by the Tsallis entropy and granular computing methods and the multilevel thresholding will used for the segmentation of color satellite images based on the optimized threshold value that will find by this work and these methods will help to select the optimized threshold values for multiple thresholding effectively
Review on Recent Advances in Titanium Dye Oxide Nanoparticles for Dye Sensitized Solar Cell Applications
Alternate energy source becomes a crucial for green energy solution against ever increasing demand. Dye Sensitized solar cell is another promising option toward green energy providing opportunity to explore natural dye extracts from plants. This review explores recent developments in the field of Dye Sensitized solar cell technology specifically with sensitizer synthesized from plants which are also found in India. Anthocyanin, betalain, chlorophyll and carotenoids are among the most common plant pigments explored as sensitizers. The review of different attempts on fabrication of natural dye based solar cells implies that titanium dioxide (TiO2) nano particles can be used as photoanode, platinum (Pt) as counter electrode and iodine/iodide electrolyte. Plant pigments are highly pH sensitive and can alter solar cell performance based on its extraction method, concentration and its ability to anchor with photoanode. Stability of dye, absorption in near IR range and leakage of liquid electrolyte are few of the challenges ahead. However, natural dye is biodegradable and non-toxic having most of the extraction process harmless to environment. In addition, natural dye has the promising future as it is abundant.
A CFD Study with Fuzzy Logic Pitch Angle Turbine Control Implementation for OWC Generation System
The paper takes the improvement of the performance for an OWC converter from the mechanical side. A FEM model of the OWC conversion structure was proposed, studied and simulated using a CFD simulator. A novel wave generation method was applied through the RWMD method (Real Wave Model Simulator) instead of using an ordinary sin wave generator on the tank to make the waves the closest possible to the real sea waves. A mechanical prototype was built for this purpose to get an oscillated wave model. On the electrical side, a pitch angle control system based on fuzzy set was applied on the turbine to be auto-adapted for the fast variation of the airflow speed to establish and maximize the extracted power from the OWC device. The model have been studied, simulated, implemented and tested to validate the obtained results

Modelling of e-Governance Framework for Mining Knowledge from Massive Grievance Redressal Data
With the massive proliferation of online applications for the citizens with abundant resources, there is a tremendous hike in usage of e-governance platforms. Right from entrepreneur, players, politicians, students, or anyone who are highly depending on web-based grievance redressal networking sites, which generates loads of massive grievance data that are not only challenging but also highly impossible to understand. The prime reason behind this is grievance data is massive in size and they are highly unstructured. Because of this fact, the proposed system attempts to understand the possibility of performing knowledge discovery process from grievance Data using conventional data mining algorithms. Designed in Java considering massive number of online e-governance framework from civilian’s grievance discussion forums, the proposed system evaluates the effectiveness of performing datamining for Big data
Analysis of Superconducting Fault Current Limiter in DC System with Renewable Energy Sources
Superconducting fault-current limiters (SFCLs) have been the subject of research and development for many years and offer an attractive solution to the problem of rising fault levels in electrical distribution systems. SFCLs can greatly reduce fault currents and the damage at the point of fault, and help improve the stability of a power system. Superconducting fault-current limiters (SFCL) provide a new efficient approach to the reliable handling of such faults.(SCFLs) can be used for various nominal voltages and currents, and can be adapted to particular limiting characteristics in case of short circuits. In this project, dc resistive type superconducting fault current limiter (SFCL) is presented. This SFCL is designed for the HVDC system. Uniform current and voltage sharing among the SFCL modules can be observed through contact resistance tests, dc flow-through tests, and ac flow-through tests. Results of tests show that each limiting module has good uniformity in higher current system. The proposed concept can be implemented using renewable energy sources. The results are presented by using Matlab/simulink platform
