The melting and solidification times decrease with increasing of TaC nanoparticles concentrations to water-polyethylene glycol/SnO2nanofluidand SiC nanoparticles concentrations to water-polyethylene glycol/SnO2nanofluid
Effect of chemical reaction on MHD flow with heat and mass transfer past a vertical porousplate in the presence of viscous dissipation
An attempt is made to study an unsteady MHD free convective flow with heat and mass transfer past a semi-infinite vertical porous plate immersed in a porous medium. Presence of viscous dissipation and chemical reaction are taken into account. It is assumed that the plate is moved with uniform velocity in the direction of fluid flow. Viscous dissipation term leads nonlinearity in the governing equations. Applying perturbation technique, the solutions for velocity, temperature and concentration are obtained. The effect of various parameters such as Rc, Gr, Gc, Sc etc. on velocity, temperature and concentration are shown through graphs
Comparative study of the most efficient maximum power point tracking techniques for a photovoltaic system
In Photovoltaic (PV) systems, maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is an important challenge which faces this system. In this paper, a comparative study between two high efficient MPPT control techniques is presented. These techniques are based on the incremental conductance (IC) method. The first technique is based on optimized PI-controller gains and the other is based on Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC). The comparison between the algorithms is investigated under different environmental conditions. The comparison criteria which are taken into consideration are: the percentage tracking factor (%TF), the tracking time, the ripple voltage in the steady-state, the dynamic response, and the complexity of implementation
The effect of e-cigarette and a conventional cigarette to the alveolus on Wistar male rats
Smoking can cause a variety of diseases one of them on pulmonary organs, e-cigarettes are also considered to be safer than conventional cigarettes and the number of smokers in Indonesia is increasing every year. The purpose of this study to determine differences in pulmonary alveolar damage in male rats (Rattus norvegicus Wistar strain) on electric cigarette smoke exposure and conventional cigarettes. This research is true experimental with post-test only control group design. Male rats were used as many as 25 rats were divided into 5 groups, namely the group P0 as a negative control group; P1 group was exposed to clove cigarettes; P2 group is exposed to a filter cigarette; P3 group was exposed to e-cigarette 0mg; P4 group exposed the e-cigarette 3mg. Samples were treated for 30 days. Data were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis with p <0.05. The results showed that there were significant differences in alveolar damage in the fifth group (p = 0.003). With Mann Whitney shows that groups P1, P2, P3, and P4 there are no significant differences. The conclusion of this study is there is no difference in alveolar damage on Wistar male rats by e-cigarettes and conventional cigarettes exposure
Odd generalized exponential log logistic distribution: A new acceptance sampling plans based on percentiles
In this paper, acceptance sampling plans are developed for the odd generalized exponential log logistic distribution based on percentiles when the life test is truncated at a pre-specified (pre-determined) time. The minimum sample size necessary to ensure the specified life percentile is obtained under a given consumer’s risk. The operating characteristic values of the sampling plans as well as the producer’s risk are presented. One example with real data set is also given as an illustration
Car following and lane changing behavior using NGSIM and China data
Road safety is imperative theme because increasing road fatalities deaths in world. Besides road fatalities, traffic jam is increasing, human is frustrated for uncomfortable journey. The roads safety and passengers comfortable of the roadway system are vastly depended on the Car following (CF) and Lane Changing (LC) features of drivers. CF and LC theory describe the driver behavior by following paths in a traffic stream. In this research, researchers have compared to US-101 Next-Generation-Simulation (NGSIM) data with Beijing forth ring road, China freeways real trajectory data by CF and LC models. The CF data has been calibrated with Genetic Algorithm (GA). Reproducing Kernel Hilbert Space (RKHS) is generated the LC beginning and finishing points. Findings revealed that the CF parameters as maximum acceleration, minimum deceleration, free speed, minimum headway and stopping distance percentages of Chinese data are 74.71%, 79.95%, 66.57%, 0.018% and 65.65% respectively of NGSIM data. After completing the comparison, researchers have been found out optimization safety and comfortable acceleration-deceleration and LC beginning-finishing points of driver behavior. Here this analysis generates the driver behavior at real traffic network on the express highways of specific two roads US-101 (NGSIM) data and Chinese freeways data. Since NGSIM data is well simulated so road traffic is more safety and comfortable for journey
Design PV system for a small GEO satellite and studying the effect of using different types of propulsion
This paper presents an optimum design of the solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) power system for small Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) satellites using triple junction solar cells and advanced Lithium Ion batteries. The paper applies the proposed system on various propulsion technologies; full chemical, full electrical and hybrid propulsions. This research work studies the capability to fulfil efficiently all the satellite power requirements during both the launching and the on-station phases while reducing the high cost challenge. Since the propulsion type is a key factor for the satellite cost, an economic analysis is demonstrated and investigated in two different strategies. The first scenario fixes the satellite weight and offers the revenue due to the increase in the satellite payload. However, the second scenario evaluates the saving profits due to the reduction in the satellite weight using the same number of satellite transponders. The analytical comparison among the different propulsion techniques shows the superior advantages of using the full electrical satellites.
Molecular techniques applied to investigations of abundance of the ammonia oxidizing bacteria and ammonia oxidizing archaea microorganisms in the environment
This review shows regards of the recently experienced concerning the environments of ammonia oxidizing bacteria (AOB), ammonia oxidizing archaea (AOA) microorganisms, and denitrifying microbes. The advancements of molecular biology techniques have encouraged staggeringly to the fast recent developments in the sector. Various methods for implementing so are discussed. The function of AOB, AOA, and denitrifying microorganism composition was investigated through a high throughput of the 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing protocol. There is potential to observe the specific species appearance of these microorganisms in each environment and get to the evaluated relative abundance of several kinds. There is information indicated which the structure of denitrifying and nitrifying group was monitored field to significant fluctuations and the complexes, together in space and in time. More effort is required to enhance and isolate those microorganisms that common of the progressions and to function them through the compound of molecular techniques, biochemical and physiological. However, the investigation with deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), antibodies, and the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was preferred mainly to report the composition of chemolithoautotrophic bacteria, surveys of their characteristics in environmental that needed quantification at the transcriptional level is presently not available
A model free dissolved oxygen controller for industry effluent using hybrid variables measuring technique
The present scenario of the world relays on water scarcity, enormous amount of water is needed for people but the world has pollution which makes a great effect. Water is polluted due to various reasons such as industrial waste, sewage, and global warming and oil pollution and mainly polluted due to industrial effluent waste water. The main objective of this paper is to control the dissolved oxygen of the industrial waste water by measuring turbidity and dissolved oxygen (DO). Turbidity is measured through the intensity of the light through the medium in Nephelometric unit (NTU) and dissolved oxygen is measured in PPM through amperometic electrode method. The controller is designed to improve the quality of the effluent water through the aeration process. The very low concentration of dissolved oxygen (DO) level is too harmful to the aquatic ecosystem and it pollutes the water to the maximum extent. This measurement method of turbidity has an enhanced idea which processed with the software and it is monitored. The controller is designed as such with the condition of inverse proportionality of water turbidity and dissolved oxygen, which contributes an additive advantage to the concept design
Solar irradiance forecasting using fuzzy logic and multilinear regression approach: A case study of Punjab, India
The accurate forecasting of solar irradiance depends on various uncertain parameters like time of day, temperature, wind speed, humidity, and atmospheric pressure. All these play an important role in calculating PV power output. In this paper, a novel approach for forecasting of solar irradiance using flexible and accurate fuzzy logic and robust multi-linear regression approach has been proposed considering the above mentioned five variables. Based on the simultaneous consideration of those five variables, the solar irradiance is forecasted using the proposed methodology at a particular location in India, and the results are compared with the real time measured value of solar irradiance at that location on the days for which solar irradiance are forecasted. The proposed method is validated by comparing the results with real time data. The error analysis of the fuzzy logic based proposed system shows the root mean square error of 10.011 and mean absolute percentage error of 1.703%, while compared with real time data measured by instruments pyranometer, anemometer etc. The same results are found better while compared with the results obtained using multilinear regression approach
