    Get PDF
The main objective of the paper is to develop a water condensation system based on thermoelectric cooler using solar Energy to convert atmospheric moisture directly into usable and even drinking water. This idea can be extended further in future – For large scale implementation, RO and UV water filter can be used for producing such water that meets the standard of WHO and BIS easily. Peltier device has many types of models which are much efficient than TEC1. Those can be used. As the paper aims at producing water from atmosphere and keeping this device handy, large sized scrubbers are not used for better air filtration. Scrubbers can remove all the oxides from the air. For large implementation it can be handled. The concept of this paper can also be used as a better alternative in refrigeration science against conventional systems. It can also be observed in this way i.e. the usage of such low power semiconductor devices are indicating towards more prominent evolution of cooling engineering that is going to alter the whole scenario and myths about the power consumption of refrigeration science. Thus in near future we will be able to use such devices that are now limited within the paper

The quick development of innovation has made our lives less demanding. Innovation has additionally expanded activity risks and street mishaps occur very often which cause tremendous death toll and damage to property on account of poor response from the people in charge of managing such incidents. The mishap recognition undertaking will give an ideal solution for this problem. An accelerometer or a Tilt Sensor can be used as part of an auto caution application with the goal that unsafe driving can be identified. It can be utilized as a crash or rollover finder of the vehicle amid and after a crash. With signals from a sensor, a serious situation because of an accident can be avoided or attended to at the earliest. At the point of time when a vehicle meets with an accident or an auto moves over, the tilt sensor recognizes the flag and promptly sends it to the microcontroller. The microcontroller sends the alarm message through the IoT Module including the location of the accident through the GPS Module to the police or control group by publishing it over the cloud. So, the crisis enable group can promptly follow the area through the GPS Module, subsequent to receiving and accepting the data. The area can likewise be seen on the Google maps. Vital move can be made if this data reaches the control group in time. This venture is valuable in recognizing the accident with the use of sensors. As a future execution, we can add a remote webcam to the current system in order to capture pictures of the scene of the accident

Speed control of sensorless brushless DC motor by computing back EMF from line voltage difference

    Get PDF
Sensorless operation of permanent magnet brushless direct current (BLDC) motor drive controls the rotating speed with different applied voltage. No phase lagging is produced which leads to increase the efficiency and minimize the torque pulsation of the BLDC motor. Initially, motor can be started by following the v/f method then allows the sensorless mode after reaching the minimum speed of 500-1000rpm. The Sensorless BLDC motors are highly used due to higher efficiency, reliability power, acoustic noise, smaller, lighter, greater dynamic response, better speed versus torque characteristics, higher speed range and longer life. Thus the source voltage spikes and switching losses are reduced. This method can be demonstrated through MATLAB simulation and DSP TMS 320LF2407A is used in the experimental setup to get the outpu

Performance evaluation and comparison of diode clamped multilevel inverter and hybrid inverter based on PD and APOD modulation techniques

    Get PDF
The popularity of multilevel inverters have increasing over the years in various applications without use of a transformer and has many benefits. This work presents the performance and comparative analysis of single phase diode clamped multilevel inverter and a hybrid inverter with reduced number of components. As there are some drawbacks of diode clamped multilevel inverter such as requiring higher number of components, PWM control method is complex and capacitor voltage balancing problem, an implementation of hybrid inverter that requires fewer components and less carrier signals when compared to conventional multilevel inverters is discussed. The performance of single phase diode clamped multilevel inverter and hybrid multilevel inverter for seven, nine and eleven levels is performed using phase disposition, alternate phase opposition disposition sinusoidal pulse width modulation techniques. Both the multilevel inverter are implemented for the above mentioned multicarrier based Pulse Width Modulation methods for R and R-L loads.  The total harmonic distortion is evaluated at various modulation indices. The analysis of the multilevel inverters is done by simulation in matlab / simulink environment

A categorical data analysis of impact of biogas on women of rural households – with examples from Nepal

    Get PDF
This paper is based on primary data collected from 400 households of biogas consumers. A detailed structured questionnaire was developed and pretested. Here response to each question was given as a multiple choice option resulting in more than 450 categorical data. These variables studied various aspects of households using biogas. The results focused on women of these households. Interrelationships between several other variables including the role of a woman in various decisions related to the plant were analyzed. Logistic regression of decision making of woman on several variables including asset index of the family was done. This asset index was calculated from the principle component analysis of socio-economic variables. The family dynamics in the choice of biogas as renewable energy source was quantified using odds ratio and regression coefficients. The interdependence between variables was tested using Chi square test of Independence of Attributes. A novel data based approach of generation and analysis of categorical data is demonstrated here. The suitability of generation of categorical data in the absence of accurate measurement instruments is highlighted. This method is also suitable for countries without a strong backbone of good quality official records, and provides a good backup data for official statistics

Improved speed response of DC motor via intelligent techniques

    Get PDF
The classical Proportional- Integral (PI) control for Direct Current (DC) motor causes slow response of actual speed with high overshoot and undershoot which leads to sluggishness of the system. To minimize the problem of PI controller, intelligent technique based on hybrid neural network sliding mode control NN-SMC is suggested.  The benefits of SMC are that it is simple, and tough to parameter deviations as compared with other controllers. In this paper, the neural network NN is used to minimize the error between reference speed and actual speed. In addition, the SMC aim is to control and optimize the voltage that is supplies the DC motor which guarantees the robust performance of the speed controller under disturbances. The proposed method for the speed control is first calculated and executed to DC motor by using MATLAB SIMULINK. The results of the suggested NN-SMC are compared with the traditional PI controller. The results obviously show the supremacy of NN-SMC over PI controller

Subsynchronous resonance oscillations mitigation via fuzzy controlled novel braking resistor model

    Get PDF
Subsynchronous resonance (SSR) torsional torque oscillations is a problem of a great concern in the power engineering community. SSR causes torsional torque oscillations with ever-increasing magnitudes occurring in the machine shaft sections causing a premature fatigue life expenditure of the shaft metal. In this paper, dynamic braking switching strategy designed through fuzzy logic control theory and implemented via novel braking resistor model, namely chopper rectifier controlled braking resistor for tempering SSR torsional torque oscillations of a large turbo-generator. The proposed mitigation scheme has been tested on the IEEE second benchmark model for SSR studies. Comparative simulation study via MATLAB/Simulink-based modeling and simulation environment of the test model with and without the suggested mitigation regime should demonstrate its effectuality for mitigation of SSR torsional torque oscillations
