    To solve optimal reactive power problem this paper projects Hyena Optimizer (HO) algorithm and it inspired from the behaviour of Hyena. Collaborative behaviour & Social relationship between Hyenas is the key conception in this algorithm. Hyenas a form of carnivoran mammal & deeds are analogous to canines in several elements of convergent evolution. Hyenas catch the prey with their teeth rather than claws – possess hardened skin feet with large, blunt, no retractable claws are adapted for running and make sharp turns. However, the hyenas' grooming, scent marking, defecating habits, mating and parental behaviour are constant with the deeds of other feliforms. Mathematical modelling is formulated for the basic attributes of Hyena. Standard IEEE 14,300 bus test systems used to analyze the performance of Hyena Optimizer (HO) algorithm.     Design and implementation of an effective web-based hybrid stemmer for Odia language

    Stemmer is used for reducing inflectional or derived word to its stem. This technique involves removing the suffix or prefix affixed in a word. It can be used for information retrieval system to refine the overall execution of the retrieval process. This process is not equivalent to morphological analysis. This process only finds the stem of a word. This technique decreases the number of terms in information retrieval system. There are various techniques exists for stemming. In this paper, a new web-based stemmer has been proposed named as “Mula” for Odia Language. It uses the Hybrid approach (i.e. combination of brute force and suffix removal approach) for Odia language. The new born stemmer is both computationally faster and domain independent. The results are favourable and indicate that the proposed stemmer can be used effectively in Odia Information Retrieval systems. This stemmer also handles the problem of over-stemming and under-stemming in some extend

    Design, simulation and implementation of an Arduino microcontroller based automatic water level controller with I2C LCD display

    The paper explains utilization of Arduino Microcontroller to automatically control level of water in a tank. From a well spelt out algorithms, flowchart was drawn, from which Codes were written and compiled on Arduino IDE. IF statements were copiously used. Proteus was used to simulate the design while the project was implemented on breadboard. Liquid Crystal Display function displays the level of water on the 16 × 2 LCD thus: Very Low, Low, High and Very High. An option of I2C LCD codes was written thus providing advantage of using only two analog input A4 and A5 pins instead of 4 to 8 pins in other configurations thereby allowing other pins dedicated for other tasks. The design recommends improvements in the area of sump control so that its low water level could disable pump thus preventing it from running dry. Protection devices like circuit breaker overload and phase failure relays are recommended in order to prolong the life of the Water pump. It is believed that the design will go in long way in educating power electronic engineers in the arts of design using Arduino; also, a mass production of the device will accentuate Small and Medium Enterprises SMEs in developing countries with its concomitant economic advantages

    A computer vision-based weed control system for low-land rice precision farming

    Agricultural sector is one of the economic pillars of developing nations, because it provides means of boosting gross domestic profit. However, weeds pose a threat to food crop by competing with it for nutrients and undermining the profit to be made from it. The treatment of these weeds is necessary, but at minimal impact on the actual food crop. Herbicide usage is one major means of weed control, owning to the expensive and labour-intensive nature of hand weeding. Recently, the need for site specific spraying has been on the rise because of health concerns which have been raised on the effect of herbicides on food crops and the effect on the environment. Most research on the field focuses on accurately identifying the weeds whilst neglecting the weed control. In this research, we apply fuzzy logic-based expert system to control how herbicide is sprayed on low-land rice in order to reduce excessive herbicide usage. The system supplies the control with weed density (Box size) and confidence level. The values of both are then passed to the fuzzy logic control for spray decision. The Sugeno as well as Mamdani models were tested using generated values for detected weed box size and confidence levels of the computer vision. The mean absolute error obtained was 0.9 for both, and 0.3 and 0.2 respectively, for the mean square error. The error shows how accurate the system can be and with low error value, it shows that the system implementation is capable of providing control for spraying of herbicides which in turn will yield more returns for low-land rice farmers

    In this work, a Chaotic based Pteropus algorithm (CPA) has been proposed for solving optimal reactive power problem. Pteropus algorithm imitates deeds of the Pteropus. Normally Pteropus while flying it avoid obstacles by using sonar echoes, particularly utilize time delay. To the original Pteropus algorithm chaotic disturbance has been applied and the optimal capability of the algorithm has been improved in search of global solution. In order to augment the population diversity and prevent early convergence, adaptively chaotic disturbance is added at the time of stagnation. Furthermore exploration and exploitation capability of the proposed algorithm has been improved. Proposed CPA technique has been tested in standard IEEE 14,300 bus systems & real power loss has been considerably reduced

    Spectroscopic properties of lithium borate glass containing Sm3+ and Nd3+ ions

    Lithium borate glass samples mixed with a different concentration of Sm3+ and Nd3+ ions organized by quenching technique. Structural, vibration groups and spectral properties of glass samples investigated using X-ray diffraction, FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The X-ray confirmed the lithium borate glass samples containing Sm3+ and Nd3+ ions in the amorphous state. Luminescence spectra of glass samples excited at 400 nm recorded, here three luminescence bands observed in Visible region, which due to spectra materials (Sm3+, Nd3+). These indicate that these glass samples responsible orange emission and used in the improvement of materials for LED, and optical devices. The functional vibration groups of the glass matrix studied using FTIR spectroscopy

    Two bio-inspired algorithms for solving optimal reactive power problem

    In this work two ground-breaking algorithms called; Sperm Motility (SM) algorithm & Wolf Optimization (WO) algorithm is used for solving reactive power problem. In sperm motility approach spontaneous movement of the sperm is imitated & species chemo attractant, sperms are enthralled in the direction of the ovum. In wolf optimization algorithm the deeds of wolf is imitated in the formulation & it has a flag vector also length is equivalent to the whole sum of numbers in the dataset the optimization. Both the projected algorithms have been tested in standard IEEE 57,118, 300 bus test systems. Simulated outcomes reveal about the reduction of real power loss & with variables are in the standard limits. Almost both algorithms solved the problem efficiently, yet wolf optimization has slight edge over the sperm motility algorithm in reducing the real power loss

    Face Detection plays a crucial role in identifying individuals and criminals in Security, surveillance, and footwork control systems. Face Recognition in the human is superb, and pictures can be easily identified even after years of separation. These abilities also apply to changes in a facial expression such as age, glasses, beard, or little change in the face. This method is based on 150 three-dimensional images using the Bosphorus database of a high range laser scanner in a Bogaziçi University in Turkey. This paper presents powerful processing for face recognition based on a combination of the salient information and features of the face, such as eyes and nose, for the detection of three-dimensional figures identified through analysis of surface curvature. The Trinity of the nose and two eyes were selected for applying principal component analysis algorithm and support vector machine to revealing and classification the difference between face and non-face. The results with different facial expressions and extracted from different angles have indicated the efficiency of our powerful processing
