Transient Analysis of Switching the Distributed Generation Units in Distribution Networks
Adding distributed Generators (DGs) to the passive electrical networks causes major changes in the specifications of the network including voltage profile, short circuit level and transient stability. In this paper, the effect of DGs switching transient in network is considered. The DGs location are changed in different buses. Two types of DGs are used (i.e. wind and synchronous DGs). Switching transient signals are time variant. It has a continuous spectrum of frequency. Fast Fourier and Wavelet transform methods are used for transient analysis. The proposed method is applied to IEEE-13 Bus distribution system
A Step Down Transformerless Single Switch Integerated Buck and Buck-Boost Converter
This paper presents about the designing of the controller for integrated Buck Buck-Boost converter for maintaining the constant DC output voltage. This constant output voltage can be used for low voltage application. The absence of transformer includes the advantages of losses is less, efficient power factor and high efficiency. It provides the simple control structure with the positive constant output voltage .It operates on the closed loop with the designing of the PI controller for a MOSFET switch to provide the gate pulse. Whatever may be the input voltage it will produce the constant output voltage. The converter is successfully done by using MAT Lab/Simulink and verified the error reducing to negligible values
Performance Analysis of 5-Phase Multi-level Inverter Using Carrier Based PWM Technique
The major analysis has been based on the induction machine drive system that is for the analysis of the carrier based PWM two level source inverter. The unbalanced conditions are mainly to handle the results of simulation for the analysis that results in the two fault conditions. The system setup has been involving the voltage source inverter as well as the five phase multi-level inverter. The effects are through performing the scenarios which consider the performance effects with the load on induction machine. The simulation is based on the imbalance conditions which results on the oscillations depending on the electromagnetic torque through the attendant reduction of the torque rating. The larger slipping has been in the rotor speed
Single Phase PV Inverter Applying a Dual Boost Technology
In this paper, a single-phase PV inverter applying a dual boost converter circuit inverter is proposed for photovoltaic (PV) generation system and PV grid connected system. This system is designed to improve integration of a Single phase inverter with Photovoltaic panel. The DC 24V is converted into to 86V DC and then 86V DC to 312V DC. The 312 V DC is then successfully inverted to AC 220V. Hence solar energy is powerfully converted into electrical energy for fulfilling the necessities of the home load, or to link with the grid. Matlab Simulation software was used for simulation of the circuit and outcome is presented in this paper
Shunt-Series FACTS Devices on Network Constrained Unit Commitment
Shunt-Series FACTS Devices (SSFD) would play an important role in maintaining security and reduce Total Generation Cost (TGC) in the economical operation of power systems. The application of this devices to the AC model of Network-Constrained Unit Commitment (NCUC) for the day ahead scheduling is presented in this paper. The proposed AC model of NCUC with SSFD would include active and reactive power flow constraints which increase the network controllability at normal operation. A general SSFD model is introduced for the reactive power management in NCUC which is based on the reactive power injection model (RPIM). The case studies reveal that power transfer capability and voltage profile of the power system is improved by compensating SSFD. Meanwhile simulation results demonstrate the combined use of these devices to NCUC have a significant impact on maintaining network security, lower TGC and increase using the maximum capacity of the existing transmission network.
Harmonic Elimination of Seven Level Inverter with Switching Pattern Reconfiguration Technique Using Hybrid BBO/MAS Algorithm
A hybrid optimization algorithm is proposed in this paper to find the optimum switching angles in a Cascaded Multilevel Inverter (CMLI). A seven level cascaded inverter is considered and optimum switching angles are found by hybrid Biogeographical Based Optimization search (BBO) / Mesh Adaptive Direct Search (MAS) algorithm. The fundamental frequency Selective Harmonic Elimination-Pulse Width Modulation (SHE-PWM) technique is applied in order to reduce the switching losses.Reconfiguration technique is also proposed to achieve harmonic elimination for entire Modulation index(M). The various performance indices like phase THD, line THD, lower order harmonics eliminated in a CMLI are calculated based on the optimized switching angles. A seven level CMLI is simulated in MATLAB/SIMULINK by using switching angles calculated from BBO/MAS algorithm and the FFT analysis of traditional SHE-PWM and reconfiguration SHE-PWM methods are compared and verified with the calculated values from BBO/MAS algorithm
Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm for An Optimal Solution for Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch Problem
In India Electrical Energy is generated mainly Coal based Thermal Power stations and hydro Electric Power Stations. The main aim of power generating company is to provide good quality and reliable power to consumers at minimum cost. The problem of Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch deals with the minimization of both fuel cost and emission of pollutants such as oxides of Nitrogen and Oxides of Sulphur. In our power system the emission is major problem created that’s why in now a days we move from green energy source or renewable energy such as Sunlight, Wind, Tides, Wave, and Geothermal Heat Energy. The Emission constrained Economic Dispatch problem treats the emission limit as an additional constraint and optimizes the fuel cost. In this paper we optimizes the Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch problem by using two different optimization method such as Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Genetic Algorithm (GA).The proposed ABC Algorithm has been successfully implemented is to IEEE 30 bus and Indian Utility sixty two Bus System The simulation result are compare and found the effective algorithm for Combined Economic and Emission Dispatch problem
Proposed An Intelligent System for Electricity Theft Detector at Smart City Scenarios
This is a conceptual proposal which is aimed at describing an intelligent security system to early detect cases of electricity theft which is claimed effective to cope with ICT based cases of electrecity theft. The method employed in the detector is computation system, which is the computation of phase differences (Φ), current voltage in real time and losses detection of electrical power grid by 220V. The losses calculation employs Kirchoff’s law I which is Kirchoff’s current law. The current sensors are put on the output distribution transformer and on customer’s APP connection. The working principles are (1) reading output current and phase differences at the load point (of the customer’s) in the distribution transformer using the current sensor, (2) comparing the output current (Io) with the sum of certain variables on consumers to be discussed in this paper. (3) Knowing the data of electric current usage by recording data of losses in real time and by sending them to teh control center monitoring in real time
Design and Implementation of Three Phase Reversing Voltage Multilevel Inverter
This paper examines how a Reversing voltage multilevel inverter (RVMLI) strategy is enforced to develop multilevel inverter fulfilment. This approach has been used SPWM-PD technique to regulate the electrical inverter. It desires numerous less range of carrier signals to deliver gate pulses of switches. Increasing within the levels during this strategy aid in reduction of output voltage harmonics expeditiously and improves power quality at output of the electrical inverter. It wants a lowered quantity of total switches, which is in a position to decreases of switching losses in this process. The Three-phase reversing voltage multilevel inverter of 7- level and 9- level is accomplished for R-load and R-L load and Three Phase Induction Motor. A reversing voltage multilevel inverter of 7- level and 9- level simulation is intended and developed. Mat lab/Simulink outcome is awarded to validate the proposed scheme
