Optimization of efficiency for power system using three phase AC to AC matrix converter with the algorithm of fuzzy controller
This paper suggested a new contribution of three phase AC to AC matrix converter MC via fuzzy logic controller FLC to enhance the whole system. However, the weakness of matrix converter is that the input- output voltage transfer is control to 87% for input and output waveform. Also, matrix converter is more sensitive to the trouble of input voltage which deteriorates the system performance. To overcome these problems, and to improve the efficiency of system, FLC with matrix converter is proposed to minimize the sensitivity to the load, and to increase voltage transfer. In this paper the currents a,b,c are converted to alpha and beta current via Clarke transformation . In this method two FLC are used. The error (between alpha current and reference current) (e) and the change of this error (de) will apply to first FLC. The output of FLC is actual alpha current. In the other hand, the error of beta current and the change of error are also passes through the second FLC to produce the actual beta current. The actual alpha and beta current is converted to direct and quadrature d-q current by park transformation. The d-q current is converted to (a, b, c) out currents by inverse park transformation, the results of this method express that the matrix converter with FLC is more capable, high accuracy with better efficiency as compared with conventional matrix converter system
Control of a stand-alone photovoltaic/battery bank system to supply energy to resistance load
In this paper, supervisor control for stand-alone hybrid power system to supply energy to resistance load is presented. The hybrid system is used to produce energy withoutinterruption and it consists of a photovoltaic generator (PV), and a battery bank. PV system work in parallel via DC/DC converter and the battery bank is used to store the excess of energy. The mathematical model topology, the identification of each subsystem and the control supervision of theglobal system are the contribution of this paper. Obtained results under Matlab/Simulink presented and discussed

Simulation results obtain record activation, high performance, and efficiency of this network
Developing a battery monitoring system software in matlab simulink environment using kalman filter
Batteries play a vital role in electrical equipments and electrical engineering tools. In addition, in vehicles, the duties of the battery is very important, both in providing initial start energy for conventional cars and movement energy for electric vehicles. Therefore, the batteries could be counted as one of the most important segments of the electric vehicles. The batteries used in vehicles have various types. The most utilized of which in vehicles are the lead-acid batteries. Due to the noticeable privileges of the lead-acid batteries, they have been widely used in vehicles. The battery of the system, which have been processed in this project, is a traction battery with 24V nominal voltage and 500Ahours nominal capacity. In this project, the Kalman filter method has been used in order to estimate the remaining amount of battery’s charge. Kalman filter is an algorithm that estimates the state of a dynamic system using a set of measurements including fault in a specific time period. Having implemented the Kalman filter to the dynamic model of the battery, an estimation of state of the charge (SOC) and battery parameters have been acquired. This operation was simulated in Matlab Simulink environment and the results of the simulation were compared with the real amounts of the parameters achieved from prior experiments to make sure about the accuracy of the results. In the designed software, a graphical environment has been developed in order to providing an appropriate interface and simplifying the software performance. The program can be easily implemented to a real battery and calculate the desired parameters
Neutral point clamped quasi Z source inverter for photovoltaic systems
Multilevel inverters are becoming popular for power conversion in renewable energy systems, AC-DC hybrid micro grids etc. The voltage stress and inrush current through these inverter leg switches are quite higher as compared to the load ratings which increase the chances of inverter leg switch failure. A three level neutral point clamped quasi Z source inverter topology is discussed in this paper which has the features of lower component count, reduced capacitor voltage stress, and it can be operated at different control strategies to achieve wide range of voltage boosting ability, suited for photovoltaic (PV) systems. It also ensures continuous input current irrespective of the DC supply voltage variations and injects stable and smooth power to the load/grid. The effectiveness of the proposed inverter is verified by simulation results in MATLAB Simulink model as well as performing experiment with the help of a laboratory prototype
Optimal incorporation of multiple distributed generation units based on a new system maximum loadability computation approach and vortex searching algorithm
In this paper, the optimal incorporation of distributed generation (OIDG) units for the maximization of the system‟s loadability is investigated (based on sizing and siting). To this end a new computational approach for computing maximum loadability of the system is developed. This approach has been compared with the classical one on different radial test systems (RTS) and is found to be faster and more accurate. The OIDG problem is formulated mathematically as an optimization problem with the objective function to maximize system‟s loadability, the imposed constraints are; voltage limits, thermal limits and DG penetration level. The optimization algorithm used is to solve the OIDG problem is the Vortex searching algorithm (VS). The tested radial distribution systems are the standard 33-bus and 69-bus systems. This paper also discusses some other interesting findings about VS algorithm
A novel matlab/simulink model of DFIG drive using NSMC method with NSVM strategy
In this article, we present a comparative study between pulse width modulation (PWM) and neural space vector modulation (NSVM) strategy associated with a neuro-sliding mode control (NSMC) of stator reactive and stator active power command of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The obtained results showed that, the proposed NSMC with NSVM strategy have rotor current with low harmonic distortion and low powers ripples than PWM strategy
Statistical analysis of night radiance RH using VIIRS day/night band satellite time series data
Amount of night lights in an area is a proxy indicator of electricity consumption. This is interlinked to indicators of economic growth such as socio-economic activities, urban population size, physical capital, incidence of poverty. These night lights are generated by renewable and non renewable energy source. In this paper the behavior of night radiance RH data was minutely analyzed over a period of 28 hour; Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite Day/Night Band (VIIRS DNB) satellite earth observation data were used. These 28 hours and 8936 observations time series data is from 2 September 2018 to 4 September 2018. The behavior of night radiance RH data over 122 time intervals was analyzed using box plots. It was seen that the arithmetic mean of RH data is more sensitive than the arithmetic mean of first order difference of RH data. The first order difference of night radiance RH was regressed on night radiance over 110 intervals of time. The box plot of slope and intercept of this linear regression showed the behavior of these regression parameters over 110 intervals of time. It is seen that the data are more scattered with respect to slope than with respect to intercept. This implies that the rate of change in RH with respect to change in time has more variability that the intrinsic value of RH data at the sampled point of time
Estimation of daily vertical solar irradiation by the use of meteorological data
Energy has been recognized as one of the most inputs for social and economic improvement and a clean energy is a challenge in the future. Therefore, renewable energy has become one of the most popular sources of energy. The solar energy, is one of this renewable energy, has the most propriety which is the durability. Due to its geographical location, Algeria has one of the world’s most important gas reserves, and has in addition one of the highest solar reservoirs in the world. Solar irradiation is an essential parameter for many applications such as the design and performance of renewable energy systems, but this is not always available, especially in remote locations. The prediction of solar irradiation values is often the only practical way to acquire these data. The objective of this work is to develop a model for the prediction of the Vertical Solar Irradiation (VSI) based on real meteorological data. This model is based on the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN)
