Qualitative and Quantitative Modeling of the Artificial Citizens using Genetic Methods

    Get PDF
Human Development Index is a key indicator of a country’s development as formulated by the United Nation. It determines a country’s progress in three main areas: Life Expectancy, Education and Income. A number of researches have been made for the understanding of how the different factors that together make up the Human development Index are correlated and to what extent each of them affects the HDI value. However, there are always certain unpredictable events that directly or indirectly affect the Human Development Index. Our project aims to incorporate the interdependencies between different factors of the HDI with the simulation of random events in an artificial population to establish the HDI value. This value is future forecasting as the HDI value output would be based upon the input values given by the user, including a certain number of years after which HDI is to be determined. The user would also have other options available to him which he can use to determine the HDI value. That is, after changing the values of various different factors upon which HDI depends by his own choice, the user can effectively study different elements affecting HDI. This can prove to be a great convenience in policy making. Genetic Algorithm is a technique that mimics the process of natural evolution. The essence of Genetic Algorithm is being employed in this system to generate artificial agents for Pakistan’s entire population. This population (represented as chromosomes of bit strings) would then undergo various genetic operations like fitness evaluation, cross-over and mutation. Then after certain generations of the initial population have evolved after a specific number of years as input by the user, the Human Development Index value would be calculated. This value would be determined from the statistical analysis of the population. This analysis has been encoded in the system and is result of extensive study of various research articles and books that facilitate in understanding how socio-economic parameters affect each other and the HDI

Resource Sharing in Libraries on Cloud Landscape: Potentials and Paradoxes

    Get PDF
The initial hype of any development can eclipse its practical applications. The present paper attempts to separate the hype of cloud computing and explores the possibilities of resource sharing in libraries through Cloud Computing. The present study is based on the usage pattern of cloud computing in libraries and explores a model for resource sharing. It also proposes a cloud based resource sharing framework for moving from ground to the cloud. Although a lot of work has been done on cloud computing yet none of the works has been dedicated to the cause of libraries. With the development of electronic resources and shift in user’s preference of online services there is an urgent need of change in library practices

Determination of Number of Channels in Multiple Access Techniques for Wireless Communications

    Get PDF
In wireless communications system, it is desirable to allow the subscriber to send simultaneously information to the base station while receiving information from base station. Multiple access techniques are used to allow many mobile users to share simultaneously a finite amount of radio spectrum. Frequency division multiple access (FDMA), time division multiple access(TDMA), and code division multiple access (CDMA) are the three major access techniques used to share the available bandwidth in a wireless communication system. In this paper we calculated the number of channels required for FDMA & TDMA techniques depending on various factors such as spectrum, channel band width etc

This paper was conducted to apply Analytical Hierarcy Process (AHP), applied as Decision Support System (DSS) model in selection of lecturer at STAIN Batsangkar. Data collected by through observation and interview done in shares of administration academic data center at college. Here in  data analyzed to learn the pattern from method used and added with the reference from literature. Experiment done using Microsoft Excel and Expert Choice Software, known that method can yield the optimal decision in selection of lecturer. There by the method recommended to be applied to getting optimal result in decision making

Investigational Security Structural Design Using Client and Server Ambitious Protocols for WMN

    Get PDF
Wireless mesh network plays an vital role in our day to day life, Networks are mainly used to deliver voice, video and data but using WMN’s we can communicate in outdoor environments without wired. A wireless mesh can deliver network capacity, reliability and security along with the flexibility. Nowadays the WMN’s are used by municipalities, public safety agencies, port authorities, and industrial organizations to connect to their workers and constituents. However, many technical issues still exist in this field. In order to provide a better understanding of the research challenges of WMNs,   In this paper we propose MobiSEC, a complete security architecture protocols and algorithms for WMNs that provides both access control for mesh users and routers as well as a key distribution schemes that supports layer-2 encryption to ensure security and data confidentiality of all communications that occur in the WMN

Circularly Polarized Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antenna with Finite Ground Plane

    Get PDF
In this paper a new geometry of patch antenna is proposed with improved bandwidth and circular polarization. The radiation performance of circularly polarized rectangular patch antenna is investigated by applying IE3D simulation software and its performance is compared with that of conventional rectangular patch antenna. Finite Ground truncation technique is used to obtain the desired results. The simulated return loss, axial ratio and smith chart with frequency for the proposed antenna is reported in this paper. It is shown that by selecting suitable ground-plane dimensions, air gap and location of the slits, the impedance bandwidth can be enhanced upto 10.15 % as compared to conventional rectangular patch (4.24%) with an axial ratio bandwidth of 4.05%.

Programmer is one of the hottest jobs nowadays. The need of competent programmer is increasing. But the gap between expected skillful software engineer and IT graduate skills is too big. This paper is discussing how an online integrated portal can help producing good software engineers with high programming skill and matching their competencies with job opportunity

One-Bit Hard Combination Decision Scheme for Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio

    Get PDF
In this paper, the performance of 1-bit hard combination decision scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing in Cognitive Radio has been studied to maximize the probability of primary user detection. Energy detector model is used to observe the presence of primary user signal. Simulation result shows that the probability of missed detection is decreasing for both conventional and 1-bit hard combination OR rule with increasing the probability of false alarm correspondingly. It also has demonstrated that 1-bit hard combination decision scheme exhibits comparable performance with the conventional one-bit scheme and thus achieves a good tradeoff between performance and complexity

Performance Measurement for “Es Puter Bang Karim” Use Supply Chain Operation Reference

    Get PDF
“Es puter Bang Karim “ is the one company that produces ice cream in the city of Palembang . This company does not have a good performance measurement . Performance measurement systems in use today are not able to measure the actual value of the company's performance , because the valuation is only based on the perspective of the production output . supply chain operations reference is one of the performance measurement tool used to streamline material and machinery . Supply chain operations reference is considered more complete , systematic and more integrated . The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the performance of companies using supply chain operations reference . Results of this experiment showed that the value of the highest performance occurred in June with a value indicator ( 60.3 ) and lowest values in April with a value of ( 58.2 ) so that the average indicator 59.3 . This value includes the category average performance indicators . Need to improve performance in order to better index future

Chaos Based Image Encryption using Expand-Shrink Concept

    Get PDF
Image information security plays a vital role in computing and communication technologies. This paper describes a new concept of expand and shrink to enhance the strength of chaos based image encryption technique. This method consists of both permutations as well as substitution process for image scrambling and encryption. In permutation plain image is shuffled using chaos technique. Input image undergo two times chaos permutation in-between expand and shrink process leads to substitution. Permutation decreases the correlation between the pixel and substitution increases the entropy of encrypted image. Proposed encryption technique works for both gray-scale and color image. From the experiment highly scrambled image is obtained at the end of encryption process. Decryption process employs exactly reverse process of encryption which results in the reconstructed images
