Energy Efficiency in Cognitive Radio Network: Green Technology Towards Next Generation Networks

    Get PDF
Energy efficiency of mobile network is always a challenging task. From the past decade, it is observable that the users who are using multimedia services are increasing in rapid way. These multimedia applications require higher data rates. High data rates will consume more energy of mobile network, which results poor energy efficiency. To meet higher data rates and to achieve energy efficiency, Cognitive Mobile Network with small cell model was explained in this paper. Dynamics of the power grid also have significant impact on mobile networks, hence smart grid implementation was proposed instead of traditional power grid. Most of the existed studies on cognitive mobile network focussed on spectrum sensing only. This paper focussed on cognitive radio network implementation by considering spectrum sensing and smart grid environment. An iterative algorithm was proposed to attain equillibrium condition to the problem. Interference management and energy efficient power allocation were achieved with the introduction of smart grid. Simulation results proved that optimum power allocation and energy efficiency are possible with the introduction of smart grid in cognitive network

Demonstration of Multi Pump Wide Gain Raman Amplifiers for Maximization of Repeaters Distance in Optical Communication Systems

    Get PDF
Fiber Raman amplifiers in ultra wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) systems have recently received much more attention because of their greatly extended bandwidth and distributed amplification with the installed fiber as gain medium. It has been shown that the bandwidth of the amplifier can be further increased and gain spectrum can be tailored by using pumping with multiple wavelengths. Wide gain of the amplifier is considered where two sets of pumps NR {5,10} are investigated. The gain coefficient is cast under polynomial forms. The pumping wavelength lR is over the range 1.40 £ lR, mm £ 1.44 and the channel wavelength ls is over the range 1.45 £ ls, mm £ 1.65. Two multiplexing techniques are processed in long-haul transmission cables where number of channels is up to 10000 in ultra-wide wavelength division multiplexing (UW-WDM) with number of links up to 480. The problem is investigated over wide ranges of affecting sets of parameters

Computer network development depends on the development of information technology and communication. Several things as the reasons to develop the technology of computer network are implementing communication flexibly which in this case in the theory of computer network is to build wireless network communication. The existence of wireless communication as the comparison against wired network, having different impairment compared to wired communication. One of which is the weakening of wireless signal strength towards the ongoing communication distance. Therefore in wireless communication currently plenty of it being implemented, to handle the occurring impairment due to distance influence, it is needed for signal amplifier device. One of signal amplifier that can be used in the surroundings which is economical and practical is by using used beverage can

    Get PDF
This paper is aim to predict nutrition status using by the Body Mass Index (BMI). BMI for men and women are obtained from the calorie needs. Calorie requirement is used to determine energy needs. The energy needs are determined by the needs of Protein, Carbohydrate, Fat, Vitamin and Mineral. The paper is made in the form of an application program using Mobile Programming. Mobile Programming by implementing Reverse Engineering. The tool used is a J2ME application on cell phone emulator having minimal CLDC, CDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0 and MIDlet. Main contribution, BMI as the simple, fast and easy to used method. BMI can be used to determine the nutrition status of individual. The benefit for individual reduce the cost of healthcare. The new result is the prediction of the nutrition status of individual using by BMI can be applied with new ways through the Mobile Application on Mobile Device, that is implemented to the cell phone. Mobile Application is a medium for the user can be accessed anytime and anywhere. It is known an application that can yield the rational decision in predicting the nutritious needs of families

    Compression Techniques Vs Huffman Coding

    Get PDF
The technique for compressioning the Images has been increasing because the fresh images need large amounts of disk space. It is seems to be a big disadvantage during transmission & storage of image. Even though there are so many compression technique already presents and have better technique which is faster, memory efficient and simple, and friendly with the requirements of the user. In this paper we proposed the method for image compression and decompression using a simple coding technique called Huffman coding and show why this is more efficient then other technique. This technique is simple in implementation and utilizes less memory compression to other. A software algorithm has been developed and implemented to compress and decompress the given image using Huffman coding techniques in a MATLAB platform.

Simulation of PCI Express™ Transaction Layer Using Hardware Description Language

    Get PDF
PCI Express is a high-speed serial connection that operates more like a network than a bus. PCI Express will serve as a general purpose I/O interconnects for a wide variety of future computing and communications platforms. PCI Express (PCIe) is implemented with a split-transaction protocol that provides more bandwidth and is compatible with existing operating systems. PCI Express has three discrete logical layers: the Transaction Layer, the Data Link Layer, and the Physical Layer. This paper  analyze and simulates the function of Transaction layer IP core in the System Level with top-down design method, wrote the codes to implement Transaction Layer using Very high speed hardware description language (VHDL) and provided the simulation results using Active HDL Simulation tool. The simulation result shows that the designed IP core meets the required protocol specifications for the proper functioning of PCI Express Transaction layer.

Two Term Approximation for Near Field Analysis of Wire Scatterers

    Get PDF
This paper presents an analysis of near field of wire scatterers. In this paper, the exact distribution on wire scatterers is approximated using a more accurate two term approximation for the ease of closed form analysis. It has been shown that the results obtained using the two term approximation are very close to the cosinusoidal distribution for the element length up to 0.7  with less than 5% error in the field evaluated from this approximation. This analysis formulation is useful in estimating fields form wire scatterers, mutual coupling in an array of scatterers or analysis of Yagi-Uda antennas

Performance Evaluation of Broad Band CDMA Signal Using Beam Forming Antenna Technology for Next Generation Communications

    Get PDF
In order to accommodate various multimedia services, next generation wireless networks are characterized by very high transmission rates. Thus, in such systems and networks, the received signal is not only limited by noise like Additive White Gaussian noise (AWGN) but especially with increasing data transmission rate by the Intersymbol Symbol Interference (ISI) due to time dispersion of channel. A number of techniques such as rake receiver in CDMA systems and equalizers in GSM systems have been proposed to combat the effect of fading so as to improve the performance of wireless communication network.  In this paper we evolve the performance of uncoded uplink transmission in broadband CDMA using beam forming technique under multipath conditions. The beam-former has been implemented using Transport Delay Line (TDL) filters.  An expression for the optimal weights of a TDL based beam former has been derived.  A carrier frequency of 2 Ghz has been used in this work as they are useful for next generation wireless systems.  Simulation results show that TDL beamformer can reduce the multipath fading and Multiple Access Interferance (MAI). It has been shown that if SNR (related with Variance of the channel) is maintained at 10 db and if a 3 ray based beamformer having 3 antennas with 3 taps is used, the Error Rate of 0.1was found without using channel coding

This paper develops a novel simulation method that seeks to mitigate the effects of interference in a multipath prone environment for a DVB-T transmission by using the AWGN and the Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channel. The channel parameters were optimized until desired result was obtained. The reception performance of the DVB-T system shows that interference though not totally eliminated, can be minimized while transmitting in a multipath prone environment

Boneh and Shacham gave a nice survey on four variants (Batch RSA, Multi-Prime RSA, Multi-Power RSA, and Rebalanced RSA). Batch RSA and Multi-Prime RSA were then combined to increase the decryption/signature generation performance. Here in this paper we further tried to increase the encryption/ signature verification performance. The proposed scheme is semantically secure also
