This study analyzes the impact of implementing Zero Trust-based security policies on a functional RESTful API for SMEs. Using an empirical approach, a functional API was designed in Laravel 12 with traditional security controls and subsequently with Zero Trust policies (JWT authentication, RBAC, continuous monitoring). Automated tests with Postman showed an 85.7% reduction in critical vulnerabilities (OWASP ZAP) and 100% blocking of unauthorized access, with acceptable average latency (<500 ms). The results demonstrate that Zero Trust is viable for SMEs, balancing security and operability without requiring costly infrastructure. The study concludes that implementing the Zero Trust model in a RESTful service architecture has a positive impact on both system security and performance. The Zero Trust strategy is accessible not only to large organizations with high technological capabilities but also to medium-sized businesses, which can begin by protecting critical APIs or integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. Recommended for organizations seeking to strengthen their security posture without sacrificing operational efficiency or technological flexibility
The Impact of Social Media on the Learning of the English Language
This study seeks to investigate how digital platforms such as social media affect language
acquisition and usage amongst learners of English as a second language, which is the study’s
objective. As more time spent online has changed how we connect, the internet has settled into
everyday existence, transforming language and creating new words, phrases, and ways of
conversing. Additionally, this work highlights the advantages and disadvantages of social media
in language learning contexts and the importance of social tools in improving the overall
language learning process, such as vocabulary acquisition and enhancing writing skills.
Furthermore, the research also sheds light on how social media might facilitate language learning
and offers practical recommendations for teachers, linguists, and language learners regarding the
effective implementation of digital platforms in language education settings.
Quantitative methods for data collection were employed, such as a survey questionnaire for 40
subjects. This questionnaire has standardized questions to gather valuable data about
respondents’ experience with social media and how it has influenced their English language
learning.
It’s clear from this research that social media can be an apt complement to language
development if done correctly. It strengthens language learning outside the classroom, and
students can use their language in more concrete situations. However, the research also points to
proper training and measures that should be implemented so that social media can improve
language learning.PregradoLicenciatura en InglésISAE UNIVERSIDA

Playful activities for teaching english to second-grade students at San Lorenzo Bilingual Academy
This research examines the impact of incorporating playful activities as a methodological strategy for teaching English to second-grade students at San Lorenzo Bilingual Academy. The purpose of this study is to describe the influence of playful activities on the English learning experience in second-grade students. The method employed is of a qualitative descriptive nature, originating from direct observation during our professional practice, which identified the need to apply didactic resources that motivate students and facilitate meaningful learning. The theoretical framework of the research is based on the perspectives of authors such as Piaget and Vygotsky, who argue that play is a key factor in children's cognitive and social development, and that it encourages active and collaborative learning through a series of playful activities, such as games, songs, and group dynamics. The study's findings indicate that playful activities not only enhance knowledge retention in students but also transform the classroom environment, promoting trust, joy, and active participation. A significant improvement in student motivation was observed, as well as an increase in their self-confidence to express themselves in English. This methodological approach is positioned as an effective tool for teachers to achieve learning objectives in a more dynamic and meaningful way, overcoming the limitations of traditional methods.PregradoLicenciatura en Inglé
