Multi-layer connection of C. elegans
No full textDataset Descriptions: Edge list of connections between neurons (nodes) for electrical and chemical communication in the nervous system of Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) Methodology Used: The neuron and connectivity data can be found on WormAtlas (http://www.wormatlas.org). The transmitter and receptor data are partly taken from B. Bentley et al. (PLoS Comput. Biol. 12, e1005283 (2016), https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1005283) and have been supplemented by own work. The data set combines connectome data provided by WormAtlas (http://www.wormatlas.org) and Bentley et al. (PLoS Comput. Biol. 12, e1005283 (2016), https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1005283). We consolidated the two data sources, which have been used in the publication: T. Maertens, E. Schöll, J., P. Hövel: Multilayer network analysis of C. elegans: Looking into the locomotory circuitry, Neurocomputing 427, 238 (2021), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.neucom.2020.11.015 and a more recent manuscript (submitted to EPJB) available as preprint D. Sharma, M. Renz, P. Hövel: Discovering Motifs to Fingerprint Multi-Layer Networks: a Case Study on the Connectome of C. Elegans, arXiv:2408.13263 (https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.13263). The is one csv file for each layer (electrical, Acetycholine, Glutamate, gamma-Aminobutyric acid, Monoamine, Peptide) with the following columns: Pre : presynaptic neuron (numerical identifier), Post: postsynaptic neuron (numerical identifier), Type: electrical or chemical connection, Layer: layer type, Pre : presynaptic neuron (name, 3-4 letter abbreviation), Post: postsynaptic neuron (name, 3-4 letter abbreviation) For more information on the neuron name and function, see https://www.wormatlas.org/neurons/Individual%20Neurons/Neuronframeset.htm

The aim of this paper was to highlight possible patterns in the demographic evolution of prehistoric and protohistoric settlements in Europe. The results of the study allowed us to identify one main pattern for all sites with a quick growth in the population after the site creation for 200 to 300 years, followed by slow decreasing until the site abandonment

No full textThis MATLAB (https://www.mathworks.com/products/matlab.html) code computes the orientation-averaged projected area of an aggregate of spheres using random sampling of orientations and Monte Carlo computation of the projected area for each orientation. The algorithm is as described in: R. Gopalakrishnan, T. Thajudeen, and C. J. Hogan, “Collision limited reaction rates for arbitrarily shaped particles across the entire diffusive knudsen number range,” The Journal of Chemical Physics 135, 054302 (2011). The number of random orientations as well as the number of random points for each Monte Carlo area computation can be adjusted. An option to plot the aggregate in 3d in a simple way is also implemented. Details on input and output of the function can be found as comments in the main function file
Geophysical data: Duvensee GPR 2016
No full textWe investigate the landscape development of the early Mesolithic hunter-gatherer sites of Duvensee performing a ground-penetrating radar (GPR) Survey. We present for the first time a three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the palaeoenvironment of 63 ha covering subarea of the former lake during the Mesolithic. The archaeological aims focus on detecting the location of former islands hosting hunter-gatherers settlements and on reconstructing the ancient landscape development for understanding prehistoric land use. Clusters of Mesolithic camps have been found located on small sand hills that formed islands in the prehistoric lake. For this environment, we present depth maps of the three most important sedimentary facies interfaces of ancient Lake Duvensee. Stratigraphic information from the corings enabled us to create a 3D model of the spatio-temporal development of the Duvensee bog. The locations of the islands and their estimated dive-up times agree with the spatio-temporal pattern of the previous archaeological finds. The model shows where hunter-gatherers could settle and move from one island to another following the shorelines of the overgrowing lake

Get PDFThese data belong to a dissertation which investigates the influence of different acoustic-prosodic features on the perception of charismatic speech of YouTubers (i.e., creators of video content on YouTube who star in their own videos). Charisma – if seen as skill used to draw in and retain an audience – is a major factor in success online, and part of charisma is transmitted via the voice. A selection of voice characteristics (e.g., pitch, tempo, emphasis, pauses) are investigated in three perception studies to find out how certain features should be configured to be perceived as charismatic (and authentic, enthusiastic, likable, and persuasive as related attributes) in the context of YouTube. The speakers in the sample were English speakers from England and North America, while all listeners were from England
