The Constitution of the Units of the Algebraic Expression, based on the viewpoint that "Mathematics is the science of patterns" : Focus on examining "the mechanism" of the algebraic expression and the integers as "the research of patterns"
中学校数学での文字式の指導における課題は,生徒が文字を用いて式に表し,目的に合った式に変形して数の性質を説明することに困難を示すことが挙げられる。そこで本研究の目的を,「数学はパターンの科学である」という視点に基づき,文字式の指導改善の方向性を明らかにすることとした。この目的を達成するため,中学校第2学年の文字式の単元を文字式のしくみや奇数のしくみに着目して構成した。特に,「奇数と奇数の和は偶数になる」ことの説明を行う活動では,奇数のしくみに着目した授業展開を考えた。授業実践と分析の結果,教師が文字式で表したり説明したりする方法を示さなくても,生徒は奇数のしくみに着目しながら,自分の力で奇数のしくみを文字式に表し,「奇数と奇数の和は偶数になる」ことの説明ができるようになった。以上により,文字式の指導改善のためには,文字式のしくみや奇数のしくみに着目することが重要な視点であるということが示唆された。The problem of teaching the algebraic expression in the class of mathematics at the junior high school is that it is difficult for the students to express the quantities using symbols and to explain property of the number by transforming symbols into the expression suitable for the purpose. The purpose of this research is to clarify the direction of the teaching improvement of the algebraic expression, based on the viewpoint that "Mathematics is the science of patterns". In order to achieve this purpose, I constituted the unit of the algebraic expression of the 2nd grade of a junior high school. Especially, in the activity where the students explain that “An odd number and an odd number makes an even number.”, I considered lesson deployment which focused on the mechanism of the odd number. After the analysis of the class, it was suggested that even if the teacher did not show the method represented by the algebraic expression or the method to explain it, the students could express the mechanism of the odd number by the algebraic expression, and could explain that “An odd number and an odd number makes an even number.” using the algebraic expression without help of the teacher. For the improvement of teaching the algebraic expression, it was suggested that it was an important viewpoint to focus on the mechanism of the algebraic expression and that of the odd number.departmental bulletin pape
高大連携探究プロジェクトと志願者確保 : ~福井大学医学部看護学科の事例~

Rotaxane Formation from Borate Ion-Containing Crown Ether and Ammonium Ion: Enhancement of their Association through Ion-Pairing
We synthesized [2]rotaxanes featuring a catechol borate ion-containing crown ether and secondary ammonium ions. These rotaxane components show both ion–ion interaction and hydrogen-bonds. X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy al-lowed to elucidate the rotaxane structure. Moreover, 1H NMR spectroscopy revealed the rotaxane synthesis can be thermodynamically controlled. The binding affinity between the borate-containing crown ether and the ammonium ions is enhanced by ion-pairing.journal articl
A Practical Project to Develop Teaching Materials for Japanese Primary School Home Economics Lessons in Collaboration with Local Businesses to Boost Risk Reduction and Resilience Education
The purpose of this paper is to report on a practical project to develop teaching materials for use in primary school home economics education, undertaken jointly by the authors and two local companies in Fukui Prefecture, Japan (Plus Jack Inc. and Technowarp Co., Ltd.).
This report highlights international trends and demands in Risk Reduction and Resilience Education (from the UN’s Sendai Framework for Disaster Reduction 2015-2030 and the Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in the Education Sector, specifically the Comprehensive School Safety Framework 2022-2030), and how these dovetail neatly with trends and demands in Japan (from government laws and documents, including the Course of Study for home economics). These frameworks constitute the theory on which the practical project was premised and then enacted, especially in terms of (1) fostering social capital that leads to enhanced resilience, and (2) passing on the lessons learnt from previous disasters, all through close collaboration with local companies. Thus, the value of developing home economics teaching materials in collaboration with local businesses is elucidated.
This paper details the process and progress of this collaborative project to create the teaching materials, including piloting them in experiments, first with university students and then with primary school students themselves.
As a result of the project, the ‘yoji-yoji’ retroreflective straps and the disaster prevention whistle ‘Infinity’ were developed as teaching materials for primary school home economics lessons.
Beyond that, though, both teaching materials are intended to be used on a daily basis as disaster prevention tools/resources to protect children even after the end of the study. Future research will aim to develop further primary school home economics lessons using these and other teaching materials and evaluate the effectiveness of such teaching materials through thorough ongoing practical classroom research.departmental bulletin pape
