    SPINAL ANAESTHESIA VS GENERAL ANAESTHESIA IN SCOPIC UROSURGERY

    Spinal anaesthesia (SA) has shown promise as a safe substitute to general anesthesia (GA), which is the standard method for performing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC)[2]. This research set out to evaluate the relative merits of general anesthesia vs spinal anesthesia for the purpose of facilitating laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Using low tension pneumoperitonium with CO2 and 60 patients slated for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) procedures, the research compared the effects of general anesthesia (GA) and spinal anesthesia (SA). Each group included of 25 patients. We used propofol, fentanyl, atracurium, sevoflurane, and tracheal intubation in our general anesthesia case (n=25). To reach a sensory level of T3, 25 patients undergoing spinal anesthesia were given 15 mg of hyperbaric bupivacaine and 20 µg of fentanyl. Cost, surgical discomfort, complications, recovery, patient satisfaction, and intraoperative hemodynamic parameters were compared between the two groups. Two groups of patients were randomly assigned to undergo anaesthesia induction; twenty five individuals had spinal anesthesia and twenty five underwent general anesthesia. At2,4, and 6 hours post-procedure, patients in the spinal anesthesia group reported far less pain than those in the general anesthesia group. Comparing the two methods, spinal anesthesia was far less expensive than general anesthesia. Within one day, all patients were cleared for release. In conclusion, spinal anesthesia is the preferred method of anesthesia for laparoscopic cholecystectomy since it is safe, practical, and does not need any changes to the technique. Additionally, it offers many benefits over general anesthesia

    RISK FACTORS FOR ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION IN YOUNG AGES

    Arterial hypertension (AH) is recognized as one of the most common diseases in the world. The presence of elevated blood pressure in youth leads to increased cardiovascular mortality in middle age. Target: to study the prevalence of hypertension and risk factors among healthy individuals aged 20 to 29 years. Materials and methods. 981 relatively healthy young people (536 men and 445 women, average age 22,32,26 years) were examined and a one-time sample epidemiological study was conducted. Results. The prevalence of hypertension is 14.2%, significantly higher among men (22.2%) than among women (4.5%), p < 0.05. There is a high incidence of risk factors such as excess weight (35.4% of men), smoking (27.8% of men), hereditary predisposition to hypertension (57.8% of respondents), non-compliance with the daily routine (58.8% of respondents) , as well as a significant reaction to stress (37.7% of respondents). Among people with hypertension, the prevalence of overweight, smoking, excess salt intake, hereditary predisposition, and physical inactivity is significantly higher. Conclusion. The prevalence of hypertension among young people is 14.2%; the main risk factors for hypertension are found in more than a quarter of those examined

    Bronchial asthma is a chronic lung disease in which obstruction of the bronchi occurs. This in turn causes the development of symptoms such as coughing, shortness of breath, tightness in the chest and suffocation. In healthy bronchi, breathing and breathing allow air to pass through the respiratory tract unhindered. Due to the development of inflammation, swelling of the walls of the bronchi occurs, which thickens, and at the same time, this leads to a contraction of the muscle fibers of the bronchi with the development of bronchospasm. In the spasmolytic bronchi, mucus accumulates, which disrupts the free passage of air flow, resulting in a feeling of lack of air, shortness of breath and wheezing. Some points can be noted that play an important role in the development of this disease. The main ones are: genetic factor, environmental factors (contaminated air, tobacco smoke, house dust, pollen, viruses and other agents that penetrate the lungs with air flow, affecting the active zones-receptors located in different parts of the bronchi).     Biochemical Changes Accompanying Diarrhea in Infected Calves in Tikrit Governorate

    The study aimed at some biochemical changes (proteins and electrolytes) and blood changes in calves with diarrhea. The study included (110) calves of the local breed, of both sexes, from different areas of the city of Tikrit, with ages ranging between (1-8) months. The study included two groups, the first group (the group with diarrhea, 100 calves), and the second group (the group Control: 10 healthy calves, and all study animals were subjected to clinical examinations. 110 fecal and blood samples were collected from the calves (100 samples with diarrhea and 10 healthy samples were considered as a control group) and for the period from the beginning of October 2022 until the end of July 2023, the blood samples were drawn. From the jugular vein and placed in test tubes or without anticoagulant (EDTA), it was placed in a centrifuge to obtain blood serum and kept at -20°C until biochemical tests were performed on it using a commercial kit prepared for this purpose. Results of biochemical tests accompanying cases of diarrhea in calves. The study noted a significant decrease (P<0.05) in the rates of sodium ions, bicarbonate, total protein, and albumin, and a significant increase (P<0.05) in the value of the rising gap rate. As for blood count values in animals suffering from diarrhea, the study noted a significant increase (P<0.05) in the values of the total number of red blood cells, hemoglobin concentration, and the size of packed blood cells, while we did not notice any significant differences (P<0.05) in the concentrations of each of the following: The average corpuscular volume, the corpuscular hemoglobin rate, and the corpuscular hemoglobin concentration rate

    Treating Soil Contamination with Household Cleaners Using Bio-Prepared Nano-Iron Oxide

    Everyday life involves the use of laundry detergents. They are essential in maintaining hygienic conditions. Water and plant-based cleaning solutions were used in the past to clean clothing. But as living conditions have improved and technology has advanced quickly, there has been a rise in the demand for and use of laundry detergents, which have gradually supplanted the long-standing practice of using plant species to clean clothing and textiles. This review's main goal was to investigate how the growing manufacturing and use of contemporary laundry detergents has affected the environment. This was accomplished by employing qualitative content analysis to examine the numerous research studies on laundry detergents that were published in scientific journal articles, the environmental regulations for laundry detergents in different nations, and other published scientific publications on the topic. The conclusion is that while technical developments in detergent and soap formulas have improved the washing of clothing, they are having a negative impact on the environment and human health. The release of laundry detergents and/or their prepared solutions into the environment presents a serious risk in terms of loading wastewater, treating it later, using resources, and getting rid of packaging debris. The findings presented in these research, despite their limited dissemination, offer important insights for the creation of laundry detergents that take into account environmental and economic factors while utilizing a variety of botanical resources. The most significant studies' and reports' findings are utilized to suggest crucial new lines of inquiry for upcoming investigations into the systems and technologies needed to create environmentally friendly laundry detergents for residential usage

    Assessment of Physical and Chemical Properties in Northern Refineries' Water

    This study investigates the physical and chemical characteristics of industrial wastewater from the Northern Refineries Company over a six-month period, aiming to inform the design of appropriate treatment units. Semi-monthly samples were collected from January to July 2023, revealing temperatures ranging from 19 to 38 degrees Celsius, turbidity from 4.1 to 31.2 NTU, and electrical conductivity from 623 to 1517 µS/cm. Total dissolved solids varied between 450 and 980 mg/L, pH ranged from 6.8 to 7.7, and dissolved oxygen levels were notably high, between 1.4 and 7 mg/L. Chloride ion levels 16-19.3 mg/L mostly fell below permissible limits, as did sulfate ions. Phosphate concentrations ranged from 0.01 to 0.14 mg/L, while oil residues fluctuated between 0.54 and 124 mg/L. This research highlights the need for tailored wastewater treatment strategies to address specific contaminants and optimize environmental protection efforts in industrial settings

    Evaluation of Serum Zonulin Levels in Iraqi Patients Infected With the Emerging Coronavirus (CoV-19)

    CoV-19 is a novel infectious disease resulting from the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which initially surfaced in Wuhan and swiftly expanded globally. Cross-species transmission of CoVs can be extremely deadly, as seen by the 2003 and more recent outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle-East respiratory disease. The globe has been threatened by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 in a number of ways (SARS-CoV-2). Zonulin belongs to a family of proteins, the first of which was identified about a decade ago and is called pre-haptoglobin 2. Serum samples from 120 CoV-19 patients in total were gathered and apparently healthy group (n=60) with age range (20-70) years, admitted from AL-Hussien Teaching Hospital" in Al-muthana – Iraq. Zonulin levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (kit. Metabolic parameters were measured by enzymatic spectrophotometer methods. The correlation coefficients between serum Zonulin levels and age, BMI, Elements and electrolytes were also evaluated. Serum Zonulin, CRP, D-dimer, and ferritin levels were substantially higher in CoV-19 patients (319.2±15.05) compared to control subjects (79.69±11.77), in CoV-19 patients (426.21±198.73) compared to control subjects (289.43±251), and in CoV-19 patients (738±20.09) compared to control subjects (130.66±9.2) (P <0.001). In COVID-19 patients, there was a significant negative correlation with iron, calcium, and sodium levels, but a positive correlation with age, CRP, D-dimer, and ferritin levels. When comparing the moderate COVID-19 patient group to the critical and severe patient group, the moderate patients' serum Zonulin levels were considerably higher. In CoV-19 patients, serum Zonulin levels were elevated, particularly in severe cases. As a result, Zonulin levels show promise in prognosticating CoV-19 severity. Throughout the trial period, Zonulin findings were consistently higher in the severe group than in the non-severe group

    Evaluation Of Physicochemical Properties Of Cefdinir In Different Storage Conditions

    : Cefdinir is an antibiotic that belongs to the cephalosporin class of drugs. It is used to treat various bacterial infections such as pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute bacterial otitis media, and uncomplicated skin and skin-structure infections in both adults and children. It is available in the form of capsules and suspension and is sold under the brand name Sefarin®. The article aims to investigate changes in the physical properties of an oral Sefarin® suspension and analyzes the concentration of drug release, antimicrobial activity, and viscosity of samples after exposure to different temperatures in vitro. Three samples of oral (Sefarin®) suspension were reconstituted with distilled water and then stored under three different temperatures (at room temperature (25°C), in sunlight (45°C), and in a refrigerator (6°C)) for different periods. Three samples were analyzed after being stored in different conditions. The physical properties changed over time. Additionally, the percent concentration of a drug release decreased and there was a noted change in viscosity of the suspension and antimicrobial activity over time when stored at varying temperatures. In this study, we chose Sefarin ® suspension as an antibiotic to treat bacterial infections. We aimed to investigate the effect of different temperature conditions and storage periods on the concentration of drug release, antimicrobial activity, and viscosity of the dosage form. We observed that with an increase in temperature and time, the suspension lost a part of its activity and the dosage form viscosity decreased
