Beliefs and opinions of students in Varaždin about obesity
Unatoč naporima u prevenciji, stope pretilosti rastu diljem svijeta, a posebno u Europi i SAD-u.
Cilj: procijeniti stavove i uvjerenja studenata u „Studentskom domu Varaždin“ o uzrocima pretilosti.
Metode: Istraživanje je provedeno kod studenata uz pomoć anonimne ankete u Google Forms formatu, dostupne članovima Facebook grupe „Studentski dom Varaždin“. U istraživanju je korišten originalni upitnik „The measurement of attitudes toward and beliefs about obese persons“ koji su razvili Allison D. B., Basile V. C. & Yuker H. E. (1991.), objavljen u 'International Journal of Eating Disorders'.
Introduction: obesity is a serious public health problem that is defined as excessive accumulation of fat tissue in the body, with a body mass index (BMI) above 24.9 kg/m² representing obesity. Obesity reduces the quality of life and can cause a number of serious health problems. Despite prevention efforts, obesity rates are rising worldwide, especially in Europe and the US.
Objective: to evaluate the attitudes and beliefs of students in the Varaždin Student Dormitory about the causes of obesity.
Methods: The research was conducted on students with the help of an anonymous survey in Google Forms format, available to members of the Facebook group "Studentski dom Varaždin". The research used the original questionnaire "The measurement of attitudes toward and beliefs about obese persons" developed by Allison D. B., Basile V. C. & Yuker H. E. (1991), published in the "International Journal of Eating Disorders".
Results: The results showed a high awareness of the respondents about obesity and its impact on life. Most respondents agreed that obesity is caused by lack of physical activity and bad eating habits.
Discussion: Prevention of obesity through the promotion of healthy eating habits and physical activity from childhood is essential to reducing global obesity rates. Education of young people and raising awareness about obesity play an important role in the fight against this epidemic. Physiotherapy is also useful in the rehabilitation of obese people, reducing pain and pressure on joint structures
Designing an Interview Book: Generation Z and Social Media
Social media is deeply embedded in the daily lives of the younger generation, offering them opportunities for social interaction, information, and support. While these digital platforms enable connection and facilitate communication on a global scale, they also bring significant emotional challenges that can affect the mental health of young people

Shared mobility in EU and HR
Traffic jams and pollution caused by the increasing concentration of cars in urban centers are a huge problem, and everyday life is almost unimaginable without the use of cars. To increase the use of private cars as much as possible, the development of a ride-sharing system, as well as shared mobility, which includes a combination of alternative forms of transport and public transport, is being promoted. Ride sharing involves several passengers traveling the same route in one car, thus they are saving money, time and having a positive effect on reducing gas emissions. On the other hand, shared mobility systems include, nowadays, increasingly popular systems of public e-bikes and e-scooter that are connected to public transport in cities and form a single entity. Limitation of resources and space in cities is one of the obstacles that appears when building new transport infrastructure, so the creation of quality plans for sustainable urban mobility is of crucial importance. Local and regional governments include mobility in their plans in accordance with the needs and possibilities of development, as well as legal regulations. The Croatian system of shared mobility is still in the development phase, and only a few cities stand out as examples of positive mobility solutions. At the very end, for the purpose of analyzing the shared mobility system, a survey was conducted, in which the respondents expressed their attitude and opinion on the possibilities of shared mobility and proposed new solutions for improving the system
Methodological Approach to the Analysis and Evaluation of a Village as a SMART Village
primjenom digitalnih tehnologija i inovativnih društvenih rješenja. Kroz digitalizaciju, pametna
sela poboljšavaju pristup ključnim uslugama poput zdravstva, obrazovanja, mobilnosti i
upravljanja pametnih sela i njihovu prilagodbu specifičnim potrebama ruralnih područja.
prednosti i izazovi njihove primjene. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na digitalnu povezanost,
održivu mobilnost, energetsku učinkovitost te pametno upravljanje resursima. Korištenje
tehnologija poput Interneta stvari (IoT), umjetne inteligencije (AI) i naprednih mreža prikazano
organizacijske modele i financijske potpore. Uloga lokalne zajednice prepoznata je kao ključna
za dugoročan uspjeh implementacije pametnih rješenja. This paper explores the concept of smart villages as a model for revitalizing rural
communities through the application of digital technologies and innovative social solutions.
Through digitalization, smart villages improve access to key services such as healthcare,
education, mobility, and energy, which strengthens the local community, reduces depopulation,
and fosters economic growth and environmental sustainability.
The paper combines quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze existing models of smart
village management and their adaptation to the specific needs of rural areas. A comparison is
also made between smart village and smart city models, highlighting the advantages and
challenges of their implementation. Special emphasis is placed on digital connectivity,
sustainable mobility, energy efficiency, and smart resource management. The use of
technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced
networks is presented as key to the modernization of rural communities.
The paper also examines the role of rural areas in the European Union and the Republic of
Croatia and analyzes their strategies for reducing socio-economic disparities between urban and
rural areas. Emphasis is placed on financial support through European and national funds that
promote the development of smart villages.
In conclusion, the paper highlights the importance of developing a methodological
framework for assessing the development of smart villages in Croatia, particularly in terms of
adapting quantitative indicators for rural areas. Guidelines for further development are
proposed, including the testing of technological solutions, organizational models, and financial
support. The role of the local community is recognized as crucial for the long-term success of
implementing smart solutions

Affective Aspects of Information Behaviour of Doctoral Students
Afektivne varijable vode
kognitivno informacijsko ponašanje kroz ljudske interese, motivaciju i osjećaje.
Doktorska tema bavi se afektivnim aspektima informacijskog ponašanja doktoranada u
kontekstu tranzicije
Proces izrade disertacije
iziskuje i stavlja pred doktorande specifične zahtjeve i očekuje se da posjeduju sveobuhvatne
vještine upravljanja znanjem i informacijama.
The affective dimension of information behavior has always been overshadowed by the
theoretical assumptions of the study of information behavior and search.
Affect is a component mentioned in early research of the information retrieval model. Research
on emotions in information behavior has existed since the late 1980s
The importance of studying emotions in information practices and information retrieval has
been posed in recent years as an important paradigm for study.
Emotions change the way the human mind solves a problem. Affective variables guide
cognitive information behavior through human interests, motivation, and feelings. Scientists
who study the influence of affective dimensions agree that the influence of feelings that arise
in different situations and their influence on cognition is necessary to understand information
behavior. The proposed doctoral topic deals with the affective aspects of information behavior
of doctoral students.
As students of the highest level of education, doctoral students must demonstrate relatively
competent information behavior. The increased need for information, the collection and
evaluation of information, and the conversion of information into knowledge is a key segment.
The dissertation preparation process requires and places specific requirements on the doctoral
student and they are expected to possess comprehensive skills in knowledge and information
management. It is the affective dimensions that are the key components that will determine the
course of studies. Overload, stress, frustration all affect information behavior. The aim of the
research is to determine the characteristics of information behavior with a focus on the affective
aspects that appear in doctoral students during their education. Investigate how positive and
negative emotions enhance or limit information practices and how the transition process affects
the course of study in doctoral students working in the science system. The research will
examine the affective dimensions of information behavior in the doctoral student population
(as opposed to the mainstream student-centered approaches), which are exposed to an intense
III
transition context, and will indicate the importance of affective elements of information
behavior in the context of transition.
Theoretical background:
The affective dimension of information behavior has always been overshadowed by the
theoretical assumptions of the study of information behavior and search.
Affect is a component mentioned in early research of the information retrieval model.
The importance of studying emotions in information practices and information retrieval has
been posed in recent years as an important paradigm for study.
Emotions change the way the human mind solves a problem. Affective variables guide
cognitive information behavior through human interests, motivation, and feelings. Scientists
who study the influence of affective dimensions agree that the influence of feelings that arise
in different situations and their influence on cognition is necessary to understand information
behavior.
As students of the highest level of education, doctoral students must demonstrate relatively
competent information behavior. The increased need for information, the collection and
evaluation of information, and the conversion of information into knowledge is a key segment.
The theoretical background is based on three concepts, information behaviour theory, affective
perspective in information behavior and theory of transition.
For information behaviour are used models which have affective dimesnion or can be observed
like a grounds for it. Wilson's model of information seeking behaviour was born out of a need
to focus the field of information and library science on human use of information, rather than
the use of sources. Dervin Sense-Making Theory proposes that information is not some- thing
that exists apart from human behavioral activity. Rather, it is created at a specific moment in
time-space by one or more humans.
Carol Kuhlthau developed a six stage model of the human information search process (ISP).
The model includes human feelings, thoughts, actions, and strategies through six stages. The

complex processes experienced in time and space is based on theory of transiton by Meleis, and
extended to the transition in information behavior, reserched bx Willson, Hicks, Ruthven.
Dissertation methodology:
The research was conducted using a mixed methodological approach, combining qualitative
and quantitative methods with a sequential research design.
The qualitative part of the research was conducted using a semi-structured interview.
After analyzing the in-depth interviews and defining the affective experiences common to all
doctoral students, an online survey was conducted on a representative sample of doctoral
students. The recruitment questionnaire was forwarded to higher education institutions that
have postgraduate studies.
The questionnaire served to obtain a general picture of the information behavior of the target
group and the influence of affective experiences on information behavior.
Discussion and Conclusions:
The importance and research potential of this topic is found in the three theoretical frameworks
listed at the beginning. The information behavior of doctoral students is a topic that in itself
opens up a number of questions for research, because doctoral students are a group that has an
increased need for information. The affective aspects of information behavior that have been
studied are an extremely important factor for a successful transition towards the goal, towards
the completion of doctoral studies. Answers to the research questions, what kind of emotions
the doctoral students experience during the search, was investigated in the first and second part
of the research. The emotions that appear are divided into two groups, motivators and barriers.
Emotions were detected as motivators of the information process: stability, security, curiosity,
satisfaction, interest, progress and self-motivation, barriers: stress, frustration, aversion,
uncertainty, doubt, unsystematicity and incompetence. We cannot observe detected emotions
linearly, because sometimes emotions that fall under negative affective aspects can be
motivators of the information process, just as positive emotions do not necessarily contribute
to the continuation and expansion of the search, but can cause excessive security and interrupt

information processes. Detected emotions need to be observed in context with the situation and
the environment, and it is necessary to take into account the phase of transition, which is the
key element of this research for this examined group
The role of the nurse/technician in the health care of newborns with pyloric stenosis
Takva opstrukcija izlaznog otvora želuca uzrokuje povraćanje koje dovodi do međusobno povezanih događaja uključujući poremećaje elektrolita, dehidraciju i zaostajanja u razvoju. Childhood hypertrophic pyloric stenosis is a common disease that affects 1 to 4 newborns in every 1,000 live births, with a 4:1 ratio of male to female newborns. The main function of the pyloric muscle is the regulation of gastric emptying. Pyloric stenosis is described as hypertrophy (enlargement) of the pyloric muscle causing narrowing (stenosis) of the gastric outlet. Such gastric outlet obstruction causes vomiting that leads to interrelated events including electrolyte disturbances, dehydration, and developmental delay. Untreated, persistent vomiting results in hypokalemia, a hypochloremic metabolic alkalosis that ultimately leads to lethargy. Although the etiology is unknown, certain genetic and environmental factors are thought to be associated with its occurrence. The only procedure proven to treat HPS is extramucosal pyloromyotomy. Over time, other, minimally invasive techniques (approaches), such as the transumbilical or laparoscopic approach, began to be applied. The optimal feeding regimen is still not agreed upon and varies from institution to institution. Given that pyloric stenosis occurs at the age of 2-8 weeks, parents are often very concerned and the role of the nurse/technician is very important in several aspects. Nurses/technicians need a well-developed emotional and psychological component that enables an empathic approach to parents. Continuous and intensive monitoring of patients before or after surgery is necessary, especially when it comes to possible postoperative complications
The impact of sports events on the development of tourism in the town of Čakovec
Navedena istraživanja i analiza prikupljenih podataka u ovome radu mogu poslužiti dionicima u turizmu i u sportskom životu grada kao informacija u definiranju strategije razvoja turizma u gradu Čakovcu.
This study investigates whether there is a relationship between hosting sports events and an increase in the number of tourists visiting Čakovec, as well as the length of their stay. The study presents the findings of research conducted on the public's perception of tourism in Čakovec, the city's accommodation facilities, and how local athletes perceive Čakovec's potential for sports tourism development. The study analyzed data from the eVisitor Information System, which registers and deregisters tourists, and examined information on sports events held throughout the year. The research and analysis in this study can provide valuable information to stakeholders in tourism and the sports industry in the city, helping to define the strategy for tourism development in Čakovec.
The analysis was conducted over a five-year period from January 1, 2019, to December 31, 2023. It was found that the months in which sports events take place are among the busiest in terms of the number of arrivals and overnight stays in accommodation facilities in the area of Čakovec city. This information can be useful in helping stakeholders in the tourism sector to design offers for athletes, recreationists, sports workers, and individual tourists. By utilizing this data, the socio-economic impact of tourism on the local community can be improved.
It is confirmed that sports competitions and manifestations attract the most tourists who come and spend the night in Čakovec. The paper also emphasizes the need to focus on individuals highly motivated for tourist stays at destinations that offer sports infrastructure and facilities. Sport today generates trips and a growing trend of changing the place of residence of users who choose destinations according to the possibilities of practicing sports and recreation and following attractive sports events. The study suggests that the investment in promoting Čakovec as a sports tourist destination should be proportionate to the number of sports events and their attendance throughout the year
