    The Use of Various Proportions of Rough Fish on Giant Trevally (Caranx sp.) Culture in the Floating Net Cages, Pangandaran, West Java

    This research aims to determine the effect of providing rough fish and pellets with optimal dosages on the Giant Trevally culture to produce the highest growth in Pangandaran floating net cages. This research was conducted in August 2019 to September 2019 with 60 days fish rearing. The method used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications. The treatments were A (0% rough fish and 100% pellets), B (25% rough fish and 75% pellets), C (50% rough fish and 50% pellets), D (75% rough fish and 25% pellets) and E (100% rough fish and 0% pellets). The effect of each treatment was tested by analysis of variance (ANOVA) F test at an interval of 5%; if there were significant differences then followed by Duncan\u27s multiple range test. The parameters observed in this study included fish survival (SR), Daily Growth Rate (LPH), Feed Efficiency (EPP) and water quality at the study site. The results obtained from this study were the provision of rough fish in Giant Trevally was able to increase the Daily Growth Rate (LPH) and the Efficiency of Feeding (EPP) for Giant Trevally. The highest growth value in this study was in treatment E (with 100% rough fish and 0% pellets) with LPH of 3.01%, total weight of 109.47gr and EPP of 30.60%

    Consumer Behavior Analysis in Purchase of Freshwater Fish in Bandung City (Case Study in the Traditional Market of Kosambi)

    This research aimed to analyze the relationship of factors that influence consumer behavior in the purchase decision of freshwater fish in Kosambi Traditional Market. The research was conducted in March 2019 to March 2020. The method used in this research was a case study. The sampling technique was used accidental sampling method with 100 respondents. To analyze the behavior of consumers used attitude measurement analysis as measured by a Likert Scale. Correlation of qualitative data is used to analyze the relationship of factors that influence consumer behavior in freshwater fish purchasing decisions. The results showed that four factors that influenced the purchase decision of freshwater fish products had a significant relationship with the correlation coefficient values as follows: Cultural factors of 0.243, Social factors of -0.278, Personal factors of 0.631, and psychological factors of 0.427. Personal factor is the more dominant variable influencing and being considered by consumers in deciding to purchase freshwater fish because the personal factors are defined as psychological characteristics of a person that is different from others that causes relatively consistent and long-lasting responses to the environment

    This research aims to analyze the policy about Citarum Harum and analyze social economy condition fisheries resource from freshwater on floating cage Saguling Reservoir, West Bandung District. This research was conducted in Saguling Reservoir, West Bandung District, starting in August until November 2019. The method of data collection was carried out by survey methods, the technique of taking respondents using a purposive sampling technique. This research data consists of two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data. Analysis of the data used in this research includes the Likert Scale and business analysis. The result of the analysis policy influence use Likert Scale has an average index value at 8562%. This average index means the influence of policy citarum harum is considered very well by related stakeholders. Analysis of social-economic conditions The aquaculturist has good economic potential. Seen from the result of income and business analysis on each cultivator showing value Rp.17.125.000/3month and RCR value as big as 1,922

    Analysis of the Role Cikidang Fish Landing Port (PPI) Towards Fishermen\u27s Socio-Economy in Pangandaran District, Indonesia

    This research was conducted in Pangandaran District, precisely at the Fish Landing Port (PPI) Cikidang Pangandaran. This PPI Cikidang is included in the type D fishing port of the Fish Landing. The research method used is a case study with data analysis using a Likert Scale. The aim of this research is to describe the role of PPI Cikidang through basic port facilities on the socio-economic characteristics of Pangandaran fishermen who work at PPI Cikidang. Based on observations and interviews through questionnaires, some of the main port facilities are still not optimal in their development and function. This affects the catches of fishermen and the activities of fishermen at the port. Some basic facilities that are still not optimal make fishermen more independent in activities without having to wait for facilities to be repaired or developed. The main facilities that have not been optimal are the pier, harbor ponds and fish markets. At the docks and port ponds there needs to be improvement by dredging the bottom of the water so that it can get inside, the tides can be conditioned. In the fish market, its function is still less than optimal because it is only used as a canteen. The improvement is to re-socialize the function of this fish market and try to carry out its function properly by increasing the fisheries business budget around PPI Cikidang

    The Contribution of Fisheries Sector in Regional Development of Batam City of Riau Islands Province, Indonesia

    This research aims to analyze the growth of the fisheries sector, analyze the commodity market strength of the fisheries sector and analyze the strength of the fisheries sector\u27s base and non-base sectors in regional development in Batam City. The method used in this study is a quantitative method using secondary data cross-section and time series which are then analyzed using descriptive statistics, and qualitative methods using primary data obtained through interview questionnaires. Analysis of the data used is growth index analysis, Trade Area Capture (TAC) analysis, Pull Factor analysis (PF) and Minimum Requirement Approach (MRA) analysis. The results of the growth index analysis show that the GDP of the fisheries sector in the Batam City has increased by 126 % in the period 2013-2018. The results of the 2013-2018 TAC analysis showed that the TAC value> population indicated that Batam City was able to capture the opportunities of trade in fisheries products in other regions. PF value of the Batam City fisheries sector> 1 which shows that the Batam City region can attract customers from other regions and has a specialization in terms of fishery product markets. MRA analysis results in Batam City in 2017 obtained the largest base multiplier in BatuAji District with a value of 2.4 which means that every 20 workers in the base sector are expected to create 4 workers in the non-base sector

    Bioeconomic Analysisis of Long-Jawed Mackerel Fish (Rastrelliger sp) in Indramayu Regency

    Long jawed mackerel resources are resources that are open access and common resources. The activity of catch mackerel in Indramayu district is increasing every year. In 2018 total fish production was 8423 tons while in 2019 there were 9047 tons. The utilization of long jawed mackerel resources must be based on economic and biological aspects as well as planning a sustainable use of long jawed mackerel. This study aims to analyze the conditions, efforts, and actual production of bloating fishing activities that are sustainable and optimal in Indramayu, as well as providing input into the direction of appropriate input and output management in bloating fishing activities in Indramayu Regency. The study was conducted in December 2019 to January 2020. The method used in this study was a survey method using quantitative descriptive analysis. Sample included 100 patients (age range 15-65 years) with respondents were owner fishermen, crew members, and/or boat captains, respondents were fishing using payang and purse seine. The data analysis method used is Gordon Schaefer\u27s bioeconomic analysis. The results of the study found that the recommended fishing effort was in Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) 100.061 trip conditions and total production of 9011 tons, Maximum Economic Yield (MEY) conditions 98.756 trips and total production of 9.009 tons, and Open Access (OA) conditions in 197.513 trips and total production of 4.638 tons. The condition of long jawed mackerel in Indramayu Regency has experienced biological overfishing and economical overfishing. The policy recommendation is a limited entry of 27.242 trips (MSY) to 28.547 trips (MEY). Presentation of the reduction in the number of payang and purse seine fishing gear fleets under the conditions of MSY was 58% and 91,3% while for the MEY conditions were 59% and 91,7%

    The Role of Fishermen’s Wives to Increase the Incomes of Traditional Fishermen Households (A Case Study at Pangandaran Sub District, Pangandaran District, Indonesia)

    This research aimed to analyze working time of fishermen’s wives, the income of traditional fishermen households and the contribution fishermen’s wives to increase the income of fishermen households. This research was conducted at Pangandaran and Pananjung Villages, Pangandaran Sub-District, Pangandaran District, Indonesia in October 2019 until March 2020. The method used in this research was a case study with the fishermen’s wives as the analysis unit. Primary data were obtained from 35 respondents who were selected using purposive sampling method. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the type of works fishermen’s wives are salted fish processor, “jambal roti” processor, seller fish and net puller. The average of working hours in economy activities (productive activities) is 6.9 hours or 28.6% per day, working hours in domestic activities is 3.8 hours or 15.7% per day  and working hours in social activities is 2.5 hours or 10.4% per day. The average of total household income IDR 3,867,560,- or US$ 266.73. The contribution of fishermen’s wives to household income is 36% and categorized as “low”

    Benefits of a Biofilm System and Low Ammonia Levels to Decrees the Early Mortality Syndrome in Shrimp Larvae (Litopenaeus vannamei) Infected with (Vibrio parahaemolyticus)

    The world shrimp aquaculture, has faced several problems, causing severe losses in shrimp hatcheries; between the most critical has been diseases such as early mortality syndrome (EMS) caused by (Vibrio parahaemolyticus). The EMS was initially detected in Asian countries; after, it was disseminated to Mexico and other countries. In Mexico, EMS caused severe economic losses during 2013-2016; and it has not yet been eradicated. Various causes for EMS have been reported; none is entirely accurate, but water quality is essential for successful shrimp aquaculture; therefore, the aim this work was evaluate the ammonia concentration effect on susceptibility to (EMS) on post-larvae (PL-15) shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) infected with (V. parahaemolyticus), using a biofilm system (water with, microalgae, dinoflagellates, protozoa and other planktonic microorganisms). So series of 5 flasks each one were arranged as following: Series S; 900 ml of filtered seawater (FSW) and 10 PL-15 shrimp per flask. Series SB; 840 ml of FSW, 60 ml of biofilm and 10 PL-15 shrimp. Series E; 900 ml of FSW, infected with 2 ml (V. parahaemolyticus) 106 CFU/ ml and 10 PL-15 shrimp. Series EN; fifteen flasks with 900 ml of FSW, 10 PL-15 shrimp, added with NH4Cl (0.535 mg/ml), to get 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mg/l final ammonia concentration in 5 sub-series of 3 flasks each one. During experiment, ammonia concentration and PL-15 shrimp mortality were evaluated in all flask. Ammonia concentration was higher in series EN than in series E; the same was observed in Series S respect to SB, but at lower values. At end of experiment, mortality in series EN was 90% Vs 60% in E. Similarly, mortality in series S was 10% Vs 0% in SB. This results confirm that the ammonia increases PL shrimp mortality, and biofilm system reduce ammonia and consequently PL-15 shrimp mortality

    Fisheries Production of Tuna Caught by Tuna Longline that Landed in the Fishing Port of Nusantara Palabuhanratu District Sukabumi, Indonesia

    This study conducted statistical data retrieval at the fishery port of Nusantara (PPN) Palabuhanratu Sukabumi District, Indonesia to analyze the production of tuna fish. Analyzing the index of production values and analyzing the sustainable catches on the tuna, especially with the Tunas longline catch in PPN Palabuhanratu Sukabumi regency. The study was conducted from November 2019 to March 2020. Methods used are survey methods and quantitative analysis. The results of the study showed the average production of three types of tuna (large eye Tuna, yellowfin Tuna and Tuna Albakor) in PPN Palabuhanratu period 2010-2019 is 5,693 tons/year with the average value of Rp. 99.634.022.955 yearly production, The production of tuna (large eye Tuna, yellowfin Tuna and Albakor tuna) in PPN Palabuhanratu affects 67% of the production of capture fisheries that landed in PPN Palabuhanratu during the period of 2010-2019, then the relative index of tuna production value in PPN Palabuhanratu showed an average value of 1.41, means the production value of the three types of tuna (yellowfin Tuna and Tuna Albakor) in PPN Palabuhanratu is higher than the value of the overall production of fish in PPN Palabuhanratu, with a production of 5,693 tons/year, the production already touched the state of overfishing, because it passed the MSY limit of 4,737.05 tons/year

    Evaluation Trial on Production Performance of Freshwater Mud Eel (Monopterus cuchia) in Farmer’s Pond

    The experiment was conducted to evaluate the production performance of freshwater mud eel (Monopterus cuchia) with supplementary feed for a period of 5 months in field level. Two ponds were selected for this experiment in Maulovibazar district. Baby cuchia having weight of 50-70 g were stocked in ponds at a stocking density of 10/m2 in filter net. Liming (CaO) was done in all the ponds at rate of 250 kg/ha. A safety shelter for cuchia was developed by installing bamboo root, plastic and bamboo-made hollow pipe, aquatic vegetation and necessary objects in the pond. Different physico-chemical parameters were found to be within the acceptable ranges for M. cuchia culture in all ponds. Supplementary feed composed of fish paste (50%), fish meal (40%), rice bran (5%) and wheat flour (5%) was applied at the rate of 2-3% of body weight. After 5 months of rearing, total production obtained were 28.3±1.09 and 31.9±2.56 kg from pond-1 and pond-2, respectively. The highest production was obtained from pond-2 and lowest production was obtained in pond-1. The net profit gained from pond-1 and pond-2 were tk 2559 and 3211 per decimal, respectively
