Analysis of Consumer’s Preference on Purchasing Fresh Fish (Case Study in Muara Baru Modern Fish Market, DKI Jakarta)
The fisheries sector is one of the agricultural sub-sectors that has a role in providing food for the people of Indonesia. Consumers have behavior in purchasing fish in meeting their needs or desires to obtain a product. This study aims to analyze consumer preferences for the type of fish and the order of attributes. The method used in this research is a case study. The research location was carried out at the Muara Baru Modern Fish Market (PIM) DKI Jakarta. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The primary data collection technique used accidental sampling with a sample of 100 respondents while the secondary data were obtained from Perum Perikanan Indonesia as the manager of the Muara Baru Modern Fish Market, the Library, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) DKI Jakarta, the National Statistics Agency (BPS). Consumer preference analysis used attitude measurement analysis measured by Chi-square and based on rank orders analysis to determine the order of attribute importance. Based on the study results, it was shown that all the attributes observed in this study were significantly different at the 95% confidence level. In contrast, the analysis of the level of importance of the attributes showed that the priority of consumers\u27 interests in fish in the Muara Baru Modern Fish Market (PIM) was price, freshness, cleanliness, texture, and fish scent
Analysis of the Competitiveness of Floating Net Cage Aquaculture in Indonesia
The purpose of this study is to analyze the competitiveness profile of floating net cage aquaculture in Indonesia. The research was conducted in February – June 2021 at the Directorate General of Aquaculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. The data collection method used in this study is the literature survey method. Primary data in the form of questionnaires with expert judgment respondents as many as 13 people consisting of 11 Lecturers of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Padjadjaran University, and 2 employees of the Directorate General of Aquaculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the proportion of competitiveness of floating net cage aquaculture fisheries. Secondary data in the form of statistical data on floating net cage aquaculture in 2017 was obtained from the Directorate General of Aquaculture, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia. Data analysis was carried out by using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that Central Java Province which was supported by facilities and infrastructure variables, West Java Province which was supported by human resources and production variables, and North Sulawesi Province which was supported by science and technology variables were in the top three with very high competitiveness category, while the Riau Islands Province and the Bangka Belitung Islands Province are in the bottom two ranks with the low competitiveness category
Analysis of Human Resources Competitiveness of Capture Fisheries in Indonesia
Capture fisheries competitiveness may be used as a standard for regional development planning, mapping, and development. The goal of this study is to assess the competitiveness of capture fisheries in Indonesia\u27s thirty-four provinces. The literature survey approach is used in this study. Ten respondents provided primary data in the form of expert judgment. From 2005 to 2018, secondary data in statistics data was collected from the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Center. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data. According to the findings of this study, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Maluku, South Sulawesi, North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi are the eight provinces with the highest competitiveness. DKI Jakarta Province is ranked first in the country, with an overall score of 8.87. The indices of output and production value, and productivity are DKI Jakarta Province\u27s advantages. Meanwhile, West Sulawesi, Banten, Central Kalimantan, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Jambi, North Kalimantan, and DI Yogyakarta occupy eight provinces with poor competitiveness
Analysis of Santolo Beach Tourism Management, Pamalayan Village, Cikelet District, Garut Regency
The tourism sector in Indonesia is up-and-coming and is still in the process of development and development. Santolo Beach has coral reefs and coastal land that can be used for tourism. Many strategies can be used to develop Santolo Beach. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method. The research was conducted at Santolo Beach, Pamalayan Village, Cikelet District, Garut Regency, in August 2021. The data used in this research is primary. Primary data was conducted by interview using purposive sampling technique and questionnaire using an accidental sampling technique Data analysis was carried out using SWOT and QSPM analysis. The results show the value of the IFE 3.58 and EFE 3.98 matrices, showing that Santolo Beach tourism management is in cell one, which supports developing and building strategies. Some strategies that can be carried out are developing coastal tourism areas by managers in collaboration with the government, private institutions, and the community, supervising and maintaining existing facilities in the Santolo beach area, collaborating with the government or tourism institutions to develop their potential. Santolo Beach, improving the quality of professional workforce to manage and maintain to reduce physical damage to the beach, and structuring the area with a zoning system for tourism and fishery activities
Effect of Spirulina Flour on Changes of Color Intensity in Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare) Strain Three Color
Ornamental fish is a fishery commodity that has promising business opportunities. Ornamental fish will have a high selling value if they have bright and brilliant colors. The advantage of ornamental fish is in the intensity of the color on its body. This study aims to analyze the levels of Spirulina added in feed which can increase the color intensity of the Angelfish juvenille. The method used was an experimental method Completely Randomized Design, consisting of five treatments and four replications. The parameter observed was an increase in color on the head of the fish and analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis.The results showed that giving 3% spirulina flour in commercial feed could provide the best color improvement for angelfish with an increase in color value by 3, and if discontinued addition of spirulina flour can reduce the brightness level of the angelfish
Haematological Profile of Oreochromis Niloticus (Burchell, 1822) Exposed to Cadmium Chloride
Changes in Oreochromis niloticus blood cells were investigated after 96-h of exposure to cadmium chloride. One hundred and eighty (180) Oreochromis niloticus with average weight of 26.07±1.23g and mean length of 17.50 + 0.50cm were divided into 5 groups (T1-T5) at ten (10) fish per group and in triplicates after being acclimatized for 14 days. They were then exposed to various concentrations (0, 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36 mg/l) of cadmium chloride. The packed cell volume (PCV) of the treatments decreased significantly relative to that of the control, while their platelet counts increased compared with the control. There was also a reduction in the RBC (2.70, 2.51, 2.24, 1.98, 1.64 and 1.22) of treatments. Other blood parameters did not vary significantly in comparison with the control group, but it is worth noting that, the mean corpuscular volume (MCV) (70.78, 76.09, 83.71, 90.55, 105.49 and 128.68fL), mean corpuscular haemoglobin (MCH) (24.66, 24.49, 27.37, 29.83, 33.14 and 42.18pg) and mean corpuscular haemoglobinconcentration (MCHC) (34.83, 32.19, 32.71, 32.95, 34.41 and 34.78%) increased considerably in all treatments compared to the control. These alterations have been attributed to direct or feedback responses of structural damage to RBC membranes resulting in haemolysis and impairment inhaemoglobin synthesis, stress related release of RBCs from the spleen and hypoxia, which was induced by exposure to cadmium chloride. This study therefore gives an insight into toxic effect of cadmium chloride on fish
Morphometric, Meristic and Conditional Factor Characterization of Redbelly Tilapia (Coptodon zillii) in Lake Komadugu, Yobe State, Nigeria
This research was carried out to study the morphological characteristics of Coptodon zillii from Lake Komadugu in Yobe State, Nigeria using morphometric measurements, meristic counts and length-weight relationship. A total of 60 specimens of Coptodon zillii were purchased from the fisher folks at landing site in Lake Komadugu, examined and analyzed for morphometric and meristic characterization. The results revealed that all the morphometric characters of C. zillii in Lake Komadugu varied whereas some meristic characters including mean number of rays on pectoral fin (8.00 ± 0.00), pelvic fin ray (5.00 ± 0.00), anal fin spine (3.00 ± 0.00), pelvic fin spine (1.00 ± 0.00) and number of lateral line (2.00 ± 0.00) were constant. A significant linear relationship was established and represented by the equation: W =0.008SL2.097 (r =0.6410 d.f. = 58) for male, W =0.001SL3.013 (r = 0.9600 d.f. = 58) for female. Mean condition factor which was not significantly different (p>0.05) showed that male C. zillii had 1.80 ± 0.27, female (1.92± 0.26) and pooled sex (1.86 ± 0.25). Findings of this study implies that C. zillii from Lake Komadugu are in good health. In conclusion, these findings are very useful in stock assessment, population dynamics, sustainable management and conservative measures of C. zillii in Lake Komadugu
The Effect of using Fine Bubbles (FBS) on the Growth of Catfish Seeds (Pangasianodon hypopthalmus) with Different Stocking Density on Aquaponic System Using Fine Bubble
This study aims to determine the stocking density that can increase the survival rate of catfish seeds and to analyze the growth rate of catfish seeds in aquaponics systems using FBs. The catfish seeds used in this study were 4-5 cm in size with a weight of 0.5-1.0 g. The types of plants used were ground water spinach from the seedlings themselves and the FBs used had a pressure of 5.5 atm. The method used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design consisting of treatment A 375 fish, treatment B 450 fish, treatment C 525 fish, and treatment D 600 fish with a volume of water of each treatment is 150 L. Catfish seeds were maintained for 35 days. The results of statistical tests showed no significant difference and SR was also not significantly different. Statistically, the aquaponics system using FBs was able to support stocking densities of up to 600 individuals/150 L
The Relation of Nitrate and Phosphate to Phytoplankton Abundance in the Upstream Citarum River, West Java, Indonesia
Citarum River is the longest river in West Java Province, it is utilized for various anthropogenic activities that will affect the water quality, ecological state, and parameters of nitrates and phosphates in the waters of Citarum River. Nitrate and phosphate content can affect Phytoplankton abundance. Phytoplankton is a bioindicator to determine water quality. The purpose of this study is to determine the association of nitrates and phosphates with the abundance of phytoplankton and determine the quality of water in the Citarum River. The study began in August 2020 until September 2020. The research uses a survey method with a purposive sampling technique. Sampling was carried out at 5 stations with 5 times repetitions every 7 days. The water parameter analyzed are transparency, temperature, current, pH, DO, BOD, PO42-,NO3-, Phytoplankton abundance, diversity index, and dominance index. Results showed that phytoplankton in the citarum river there were 24 genera divided into 4 phylum. Diversity index during the study reached between 0,91 – 0,99 and dominance index was in the range 0,01 – 0,2. Phytoplankton abundance ranges from 11 to 1292 ind/L. The highest genera phytoplankton composition at each station was found is Synedra as much as 1087 ind/ L. Nitrate content ranges from 0.13 - 0.33 mg/l and phosphate content range from 0.13 - 0.29 mg/l. The acquisition of R square value based on the simultaneous analysis of the relationship between nitrate and phosphate and the abundance of phytoplankton was 43,9% and 56,1% was influenced by other several factor namely temperature, water transparency, nutrient, and water flow
Aspects of Population Dynamics of Tiger Tooth Croaker, Otolithes ruber (Bloch and Schneider, 1801) from Northwest Arabian Gulf, Iraq
The present study consists of the growth, mortality, relative yield recruit and virtual population analysis of tigertooth croaker, Otolithes ruber from Iraqi marine waters, northwest Arabian Gulf between February 2020 and January 2021. Analysis of population dynamics employed methods fitted in FiSAT II software using pooled length-frequencies. A total of 3835 individuals of O. ruber ranged from 17.0 to 60.0 cm have been collected. The exponent (b) of the length-weight relationship was found to be 2.755. The von Bertalanffy growth parameters (L∞ and K) were estimated as 68.5 cm and 0.36, respectively, while the growth performance index (Ø\u27) was 3.228. The total mortality (Z) was calculated as 1.10, while the natural and fishing mortality rates were 0.69 and 0.41, respectively, and the current exploitation rate (Ecurrent) was 0.38. Fish were recruited to the fishery at a mean size of L50= 20.55 cm. The recruitment pattern of O. ruber was continuous throughout the year with two major peaks. The analysis of yield-per-recruit (Y/R’) indicates that the current exploitation rate was below the biological target reference points (E0.1 = 0.40 and Emax= 0.53), refer to the stock of O. ruber is underexploited. The 27 cm length group was more vulnerable to fishing and more harvested according to virtual population analysis. sLength at first capture was higher than the length at first maturity of the species in the region. For management purposes, more yields could be obtained by increasing the mesh sizes of the nets employed in the fishing of the species.
