Biodiversity in the Black Sea - ecological Study from the Perspective of Romanian philately
As the concern for the management of protected areas is relatively new in Romania, and the information related to this topic is relatively scarce, especially those on marine ecosystems, we considered necessary this study on the management of marine protected areas with specific biodiversity illustrated by philately. Marine protected areas, in particular, delimited as areas where the main purpose is the protection of nature and cultural values, are important for all segments of society. Through this paper, we aimed to review several aspects, ecological and philatelic alike, regarding the specific biodiversity of the Black Sea ecosystem. Following the analyzes performed on account of the data from the consulted specialized literature (in the form of postage stamps, FDCs, occasional envelopes, and maximum postcards, but also other philatelic effects), as well as as a result of other observations (with catalogs and sites with philatelic content), we concluded that the biodiversity of the Black Sea, as well as the marine ecosystem itself, are relatively well represented in Romanian philately. The four philatelic issues illustrate crustaceans, mollusks, corals, and anemones, but also other species, all being to the liking of the general public in terms of information and promotion
Application of Agar-agar as Food Additives
This review article aims to study the types of seaweed that can be processed into agar, agar extraction methods, characteristic of agar, and application of agar as a food additive. Based on articles and other literature reviews, it can be concluded that: 1) The types of seaweed that can be extracted into agar-agar are Gracilaria sp., Gelidium sp., and Gelidiella sp. 2) Extraction of agar from seaweed can be done using the methods of Yolanda and Agustono [1], Wicaksono et al. [2] and Shantika et al. [3]. 3) The characteristic of agar can be reviewed from particle size, moisture content, ash content, heavy metals, pH, solubility, turbidity, gel strength, and viscosity. 4) Agar-agar as a food additive had been applied to analog rice, jelly drink, and edible film making
Application of Food Additives in the Fisheries Processed Products Development
The purpose of writing this article is to examine throughout searching articles and other literature on the types and classifications of food additives, the development of processed fishery products, and the application of food additives in processed fishery products. Based on search results from various articles and other literature it can be concluded that the classification of Food Additives according to the Regulation of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 722 / Menkes / Per / IX / 88 [1] are as follows: dyes, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, antioxidants, anti-stick, flavor and aroma, acidity regulators, bleach or flour, emulsifiers, stabilizers and thickeners, hardeners and sequestrants. Fishery products can be developed to increase added value and zero waste
Characteristics of Fish Protein Concentrate (FPC) of Marine Fish
The purpose of this review article is to study the types of marine fish that can be processed into FPCs, methods for FPCs production, and the characteristics of marine fish FPCs known from various research in Indonesia. Based on a review of various articles and other literature, it can be concluded that the types of marine fish that can be processed into FPC are tuna, mackerel, anchovies, snapper, and rainbow runner. The method of FPCs production that can be used are reduction, whole meal, dry reduction and solvent extraction. The characteristics of the FPCs from various studies depend on the type of fish and the method of FPCs production
Disparity Analysis of Fish Cultivators Running Water System Pond in Tanjungsiang District, Subang Regency
The research of disparity analysis of fish cultivators running water system pond in Subang Regency has been carried out in April 2019 until December 2020 This study aims to determine the level of budget and analyze the level of inequality in Tanjungsiang, Subang Regency based on characteristics of Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2020. The method used in this research is qualitative and quantitative method. Information and data are collected by primary and secondary data that obtained by questionnaire and from relevant agencies. Processing data used the Gini Ratio analysis. The results showed that the average expenditure of the population according to the monthly per capita welfare level in Subang Regency was Rp. 1.228.740. The level of income gap of running water system pond fish cultivators in Tanjungsiang District, Subang Regency during the analysis period from 2018 to 2019 is at a high level gap because it is more than 0.5. Based on the Gini coefficient calculation, a value of 0.901 is obtained
A Review on pH, DO and BOD of the Sitalakhya River during Last Four Decades
As a developing country, industrialization is rapidly growing up in Bangladesh. Most of the cases, the industrialization process don’t considering any impact on environmental body. In this study, the impact of unplanned industrialization on the surface water is the main focus. In between several resources, the water quality of the Sitalakhya River is our study area. Quality of the Sitalakhya River water is getting polluted day by day through industrial effluents and household wastewater, lube oil and oil spillage around the operation of river ports. The Sitalakhya river water quality analysis is considered between 1975 to 2018, qualitative and quantitative results for pH, DO and BOD were analyzed and also trends of these parameters were also analyzed. Day by day river water quality going far away from EQS value, which is significantly harmful to flora fauna. In this circumstance, industrial effluent and other environmental impacts from unplanned industrialization is main goal of this study. This study shows, how unplanned industrialization can damage an environmental system which is very harmful to our entire ecological cycle. If cannot control this unplanned industrialization, water body will damage and all related ecosystem will be effected
Selectivity of Gillnet to Catch Silver Pomfret (Pampus argenteus) in Pangandaran Waters, Indonesia
The purpose of this research was to determine the most selective mesh size of gillnet fishing gear for Pampus argenteus in coastal waters of Pangandaran Regency, West Java. Research on the selectivity of gillnet fishing gear was carried out in the coastal waters of Pangandaran, West Java Province, from August 2018 to January 2019. The method used in this research is experimental fishing, namely operating gillnet fishing gear directly in the fishing area with fishermen. The primary data collected was the measurement of the catch (fish weight, number, fork length, how the fish was caught, circumference (girth opercullum, maximum body girth). Meanwhile, the secondary data collected were supporting data from the Pangandaran District Fisheries and Marine Service, and literature study. In determining the sampling, the method used is the purposive sampling method. The operation of gillnets using 4.5 inches obtained a higher proportion of main catch (75%) than gillnets with a mesh size of 5 inches (44%). Gillnet with a mesh size of 4.5 inches, the silver pomfret caught was distributed between 17-22 cm in size with the highest mode in the 19 cm fork length. Unlike the gillnet fishing gear with a mesh size of 5 inches, the silver pomfret caught was distributed in the fork length range of 17-25 cm with the highest mode in the length class 19 cm fork length. mesh size 4.5 inches has a hanging ratio value of 0.51. Meanwhile, the 5 inch mesh size has a hanging ratio value of 0.54. Based on the length distribution, gillnets with a mesh size of 5 inches were more dominant in catching silver pomfret in a larger size class interval than gillnets with a mesh size of 4,5 inches. Based on the L50 value, both selective gillnets caught more fish at 50% second chance. The selectivity curve shows that gillnet fishing gear with a mesh size of 5 inches has more selective results than gillnets with a mesh size of 4.5 inches. 
Structure of Seagrass Community in the Karapyak Beach, Pangandaran Regency, West Java
Karapyak Beach is one of the beaches that has a variety of abundant marine ecosystems. One of the marine ecosystems is seagrass. This study aims to identify the structure of seagrass communities in Karapyak waters based on seagrass species, species density, species frequency, diversity, and uniformity. This research was conducted in February – April 2021. The method used is a survey method with direct observation at each predetermined station using a square transect measuring 1 x 1 m2. While the determination of stations and observation points is done by purposive sampling method. The research location is divided into three stations, each station is divided into five substations (plots), and a 50 m transect line is made perpendicular to the shoreline. Furthermore, the results showed four types of seagrass found in the waters of Karapyak Beach, namely Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii, Halodule pinifolia, Halodule uninervis. The density of seagrass at station I was in the medium category, namely 125 individuals/m2, with a cover percentage of 86%. Then the lowest seagrass density was found at the second station, which was 104 individuals/m2 including the unhealthy category with a cover percentage of 58%. While the highest density score was shown at the third station, namely 144 individuals/m2 with a closing percentage of 94%
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points in Handling Frozen Tuna Steak (Case Study at PT. Awindo International, Jakarta, Indonesia)
This research aims to analyze the hazard and determine critical control points in the process of handling frozen tuna steak at PT. Awindo International located in Muara Baru, North Jakarta. The research was conducted at PT. Awindo International from March to April 2021. The research was conducted using the case study method. The research procedure includes observation of the handling process flow, analysis of potential hazards, identification of critical control points, organoleptic, microbiological and chemical testing. The data obtained from the study were analyzed descriptively. Hazards that have the potential to occur in the process of handling frozen tuna steak are biological, physical and chemical hazards. The results of the hazard analysis obtained critical control points at the stage of receiving raw materials and metal inspection. The results of the organoleptic test of raw materials as a whole have a good value and are in accordance with company standards and Indonesian national standards (SNI), so that they can proceed to the production stage. The results of the microbiological test showed that complied with the standards, namely Salmonella sp. negative, Vibrio cholerae negative, Escherichia coli <1.8 MPN/g, Coliform <1.8 MPN/g, ALT 12 x 103 colonies/g. The results of the chemical test showed good results with the value of the chemical content that complied with the standards, namely histamine 2.92 mg/kg, mercury 0.05 mg/kg, negative lead, and cadmium 0.019 mg/kg
Relationship of Temperature and Chlorophyll-a with Distribution of Yellowstripe Scad (Selaroides leptolepis) in East Coastal Waters of North Sumatra
The east coast of North Sumatra is part of the Malacca Strait, a highly utilized fishing area. One of the commodities that can be harvested is the Yellowstripe Scad (Selaroides leptolepis). Through oceanography parameters, specifically temperature and chlorophyll-aconcentrations, it is possible to determine optimal fishing grounds which can be used as guidelines. One of the satellites that can detect sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentrations is Aqua (EOS PM),which is equipped with a Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensor. Data on the Yellowstripe Scad (Selaroide sleptolepis) were obtained from the Belawan Ocean Fishing Port (OFP). Based on the analysis of MODIS images from the Aqua satellite, the sea surface temperature of theeast coastal waters of North Sumatra in 2012 - 2016 ranged from 29oC – 32oC with chlorophyll-a concentrations ranging from 0.19 - 5.26 mg/m³. The largest harvest occurred during the west monsoon with a value of 143.46 tons and the lowest was during the east monsoon with a value of 139.87 tons. Yellowstripe Scad harvest has a negative correlation with the sea surface temperature with a correlation value of -0.365. Chlorophyll-a concentrations and harvest amount have a positive correlation value of 0.660. Yellowstripe Scad is predicted to yield the largest harvest during the west monsoon (December-February) between the Asahan and Labuhanbatu Regencies at coordinates 2.68oN - 2.74oN and 100.37oE - 100.44oE
