Teaching Tip on 'Global Climate Animations'
A tip for the designer of this survey: I used bits and pieces of your site. There is no place on this survey for users like me. Having viewed some of your site, not all, I cannot thoughtfully address some of your questions. The portion I did use was outstanding, however the teacher would have to know what they were looking for. Quite a few middle school level teachers are not well educated concerning global energy balances and would be overwhelmed with the content and therefore shun this site.
Teaching Tip on 'The Nine Planets: A Multimedia Tour of the Solar System'
The NASA page was so cool; it was my favorite!
Teaching Tip on 'Weathering Experiments'
Easy yet effective. I did it as a demo and it worked well.
Teaching Tip on 'Scientists in Action!'
This site is easy to use and provides the learner with information via pictures and easy-to-read text.
Teaching Tip on 'American Field Guide: Relative Dating - Telling Time Using Fossils'
Make sure you read the introduction if you have no prior knowledge because you need the information to help you to understand and answer the questions.
Teaching Tip on 'The Animated Virtual Planetarium'
I think it needs accurate information about planets and less things to distract you from the text.
Teaching Tip on 'Down the Drain: How Much Water Do You Use?'
I really liked the materials section of the resource. All I had to do was print the forms for my students, instead of creating them myself. I also liked the hands on/participant observation style of the resource.
Teaching Tip on 'The Global Sun Temperature Project'
Make sure the students have a clear understanding of latitute and longitude.
