FORM AND FACTORS CAUSING THE MORAL DECADENCY OF THE MILLENIAL GENERATION IN SOCIAL LIFE OF COMMUNITIES
No full textMoral decadence in the current millennial era occurs when the flow of modernization is able to provide everything that has an impact on the moral decline of the Indonesian population, especially among the youth. The problem of the moral crisis experienced especially among the youth has spread, and can threaten the future of the nation. Planting characters in the family environment is not enough in moral construction because when they grow up the child will find a new environment that will also shape his personality. Planting character in the family environment will become the foundation for further character, but not a few experience decline due to the influence of this new environment. In constructing the morals of the nation's generation, three elements of the state which include society, government and the private sector must build synergy in creating Indonesia's golden generation. As for the government, with its duties and functions as policy makers, it can create educational regulations that are oriented towards instilling noble values, as well as building the character of young Indonesian intellectuals. Character building in formal education institutions has not achieved the expected output. Much of this character education is in the form of theory, without any room for the implementation of character or moral values. Furthermore, the presence of Human Rights (HAM) also becomes a pathology in character building, because Human Rights indirectly limit the domination of educators over student

The significance of this research lies in its potential to enhance the understanding of the interdependence between philosophy and history, ultimately fostering a more nuanced perspective of human society. By examining their mutual influence, the research may contribute to more accurate historical interpretations, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and emphasize the importance of incorporating diverse philosophical perspectives in historical research and education. The findings of this study reveal the crucial role that interdisciplinary approaches play in understanding the interdependence of philosophy and history, showcasing the significance of their mutual influence. The research also highlights the ethical implications of incorporating philosophical frameworks into historical analysis and underscores the benefits and challenges of integrating philosophical perspectives in historical research and education.

No full textThis research aims to examine the construction of values in the Manyanda tradition. The type of research used in this research is a qualitative research method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results obtained from the field are as follows: The Manyanda tradition is a valuable tradition in the lives of the people of Nagari Talang, Solok District as one part of the traditional death procession. It has existed for a long time as part of the social structure of society, and still survives today. However, based on findings in the field, there are a number of differences in perception between various groups in understanding the value construction of the Manyanda tradition. The Nagari elite such as traditional elders, niniak mamak, cadiak pandai and bundo kanduang have different understandings from society in general, especially among the younger generation. There is a shift in the value of the manyanda tradition from a social obligation as a form of replacing the position of a person who dies socially to just being a traditional obligation. This difference in understanding and perception has an impact on a shift in the meaning of the manyanda tradition for the community at Nagari Talan
