    Clarithromycin and Amoxicillin Effect on Helicobacter Pylori-Infected Oxidative DNA Damage

    Epidemiological studies reveal that the risk of developing stomach cancer increase by  Helicobacter pylori infection, and scientists assume that oxidative DNA damage caused by the bacteria is to blame. Oxidative DNA damage in Helicobacter pylori-infected cases was measured before and after two weeks of clarithromycin and amoxicillin (1 g/day) +amoxicillin (1 g/day) treatment using DNA chain fractures and form amidoprimidine DNA glycosylase (fpg)-sensitive regions. After treatment, it was found that the Comet method's measurement of the frequency of fpg-sensitive regions decreased (P0.001), while the frequency of DNA chain breaks remained unchanged. A favorable connection between age and prevalence off fpg-sensitive areas was found (r = 0.59, P 0.05). The results suggest that lowering oxidative DNA damage through treatment with clarithromycin + amoxicillin in helicobacter pylori-infected individuals may lessen the risk of helicobacter pylori-mediated stomach cancer formation

    P. mirabilis bacteria have a significant role in causing urinary tract infection which can be defined as the inflammatory response of urothelium to bacterial invasion, which is usually associated with bacteriuria and pyuria. According to the suggestion that Proteus microbes could possibly be involved in the etiopathogenesis. Proteus mirabilis was the commonest bacteria isolated in this study 15 (51% ) followed by E. coli in 6 ( 20.4 ), Klibsiella spp.5 (17%) and Staphylococcus saprophiticus 3 (10.3%). All isolates of P. mirabilis appeared highest rate of resistance (100%) in the case of Cefotaxime, Amoxicillin, Ampicillin. And moderately resistance to Netilmicin (71.4% ).     This study investigated the assessment of the knowledge and attitude towards cigarette smoking among youths in Ogbia Town; Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The population of the study consisted of three hundred (300) Youths, and one hundred and fifty 150 (50%) were selected as the sample size for the study. The simple random sampling technique and systematic sampling techniques were adopted to select the sample for the study. Three research questions and objectives were used. The instrument used for data collection was a well-structured questionnaire; simple percentage was used to answer the research questions. The results showed that; 95.3% of the respondents knew the negative effect of cigarettes on health; 96.7% of the respondents said smoking should be strictly prohibited in public areas. 96.0% of the respondents indicated that Smoking is a disgusting behavior; 90.0% of the respondents indicated that smoking is hazardous to the health of others, while 19.3% of the respondents did not accept that smoking is a personal freedom. Again, 84.0% of the respondents indicated that peer groups influenced the cigarette smoking habits among youths. In light of the findings of the study, it was therefore recommended that; policies prohibiting the advertisement and use of tobacco in public places be properly enforced by the government, parents, and educational management; and finally that religious leaders should be good role models that will help youths in quitting cigarettes smokin

    THE EFFECT OF THE DRUG MIOSTA H® IN THE TREATMENT OF PURULENT AND NON-PURULENT INFLAMMATORY PROCESSES IN THE JOINTS OF THE LEGS IN HORSES

    In this article, when treating horses with a purulent coffin joint, surgical treatment is performed, enrofloxacin 10% is injected into the muscle, platelet autoserum is injected around the joint, chondrolone is injected into the joint, and Miosta Н® is injected into the muscle, and the wound is treated with levomekol ointment. On the 18-19th day, horses normally experience early formation of scabs, lameness, swelling and a local decrease in leg and body temperature, and when treating horses with chronic non-purulent diseases of the joints of the feet, a sharp tickling ointment is used, massage and paraffin applications are applied around the joint and hydrocortisone 0.5% novocaine. It was also reported that with intramuscular injection of 5 ml of Miosta Н® for the first time and 10 days after intra-articular injection of 5 ml of chondrolone, lameness, swelling and local temperature decreased, and body temperature in horses normalized by day 14

    coli bacteria were obtained from the soil near the Euphrates River in the northern region of Basra City and cultured on nutrient agar media. The bacterial isolate was subjected to purification and thereafter seen under a microscope. The study revealed that E. coli bacteria has the capacity to synthesize silver nanoparticles when combined with a 1 mM AgNO3 solution. The synthesis of AgNPs was deduced by examining the change in color of the reaction mixture. The UV-vis spectroscopy results indicated that the silver nanoparticles exhibited absorbance at a specific wavelength of 428 nm. Additionally, the FT-IR analysis revealed the presence of active groups in the silver particles, which played a role in maintaining their stability. The SEM and TEM studies revealed that the AgNPs exhibited a spherical morphology, with diameters ranging from 47.66 to 11.68 nm. A cubic crystal structure of silver was confirmed using an X-ray diffraction examination, while an EDX test indicated that the final product was silver (Ag). The antimicrobial efficacy of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) against bacteria isolated from diseased patients was evaluated using the Well diffusion agar technique.     EVALUATION FOR MOTHERS' PRACTICES TOWARDS CARING FOR THEIR CHILDREN WITH EPILEPSY

    Background: Epilepsy is classified as a neurological condition impacting the nervous system, characterized by spontaneous seizures that occur on a regular basis with varying occurrence and severity. The study aimed to assess the level of mother’s practices regarding epileptic among children in Babylon province. Materials and methods: This descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted at Babil Teaching Hospital for Maternity and Children's EEG unit, emergency wards, and neurological consultation ward. A purposive sample of 100 mothers was selected. Closed-ended questions were asked to each woman in direct interviews. The study was conducted for period from November 2023 to February 2024 is the study period. Results: The results found that 35.0% of mothers belonging to age group (29-34 years). The results found that the highest percentage was 71% of those with moderate practice, followed by 17% with poor practice, and 12% with good practice. Also, the results report that the mothers whom were sufficient family income, live in urban and have higher education level, were with the better practices score (P. value <0.05). Conclusion: The study concluded that the majority of mothers in Babil Governorate have moderate practices of epilepsy. The results also revealed that sufficient family income, mothers living in urban areas, and higher education were associated with a good degree of practices. Educating the public about epilepsy through the mass media could go a long way in reducing the morbidity and mortality associated with this proble
