    STUDY OF ANTIBODIES TO OPPORTUNISTIC ENTEROBACTERIA IN THE BLOOD OF ADULTS

    Background: Opportunistic enterobacteria (OE), including various Gram-negative bacteria, are known to cause infections, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. Specific Background: Despite their clinical relevance, there is limited data on the prevalence of antibodies against these bacteria in the general adult population. Knowledge Gap: The extent to which antibodies to opportunistic enterobacteria are present in serum samples from healthy adults has not been thoroughly investigated. Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the presence and frequency of antibodies to seven types of Gram-negative opportunistic enterobacteria in adult serum samples using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The analysis revealed a significant prevalence of antibodies against the bacteria E. coli, Proteus vulgaris, Citrobacter freundii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa among the subjects. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the widespread presence of antibodies to OE in a healthy adult population, highlighting previously underexplored immunological responses. Implications: These findings could enhance diagnostic approaches and inform treatment strategies for infections caused by opportunistic enterobacteria, potentially leading to improved management of such infections in clinical settings

    Thalassemia is a hereditary condition that results in the creation of defective haemoglobin molecules. Patients are diagnosed with thalassemia major after exhibiting severe clinical symptoms and profound anaemia. This study aims to investigate the major thalassemia and psychosocial aspects of it, which is a critical issue, in order to serve as a road map for better treating these patients and contribute to the literature. This study used narrative review as its method. Between 2018 and 2023, a literature review was undertaken by searching materials published in databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, and the Google Scholar search engine. Additionally, the WHO website was searched. Thalassemia major harms the heart, liver, lungs, and endocrine organs due to anaemia and iron buildup. Furthermore, the patient could experience. Mental and social issues arise as a result of the disease's congenital aetiology and lifelong duration. Thalassemia patients face significant emotional challenges as well as therapeutic burden. There are numerous research on the prevalence and physical implications of thalassemia. However, there are insufficient papers and studies documenting the psychosocial impacts of thalassemia on patients and what may be done to mitigate these effects.     Background: Systemic inflammation plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology of various diseases, particularly in patients with liver cirrhosis. Specific Background: The Neutrophil-to-Albumin Percentage Ratio (NPAR) has emerged as a novel biomarker for assessing systemic inflammation. Low serum albumin levels combined with elevated neutrophil counts have been associated with an increased risk of infections, including spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP), a serious complication in cirrhotic patients. Knowledge Gap: Despite the recognized risks and mortality associated with SBP, the specific role of NPAR in predicting outcomes in patients with cirrhotic ascites remains underexplored. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of NPAR in identifying patients at high risk for developing SBP and to assess its association with in-hospital mortality rates. Results: Our findings indicate that elevated NPAR is significantly correlated with the incidence of SBP and is associated with higher in-hospital mortality, reinforcing the potential of this biomarker in clinical practice. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the utility of NPAR as a predictive tool for SBP in cirrhotic patients, potentially guiding clinicians in early diagnosis and intervention. Implications: By highlighting the importance of NPAR, this study advocates for its incorporation into routine clinical assessments to improve patient outcomes, emphasizing that timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment of SBP can significantly reduce mortality rates

    Objective: This study aimed to investigate the terrestrial malacofauna in the Naryn River region, with a specific focus on Bradybaena plectotropis in Grigorievskoe Gorge, Kyrgyzstan, to enhance understanding of its ecological roles and biological features. Methods: Field surveys and anatomical analyses were conducted in August 2024, covering diverse biotopes across Grigorievskoe Gorge and Boom Gorge. Forty specimens were collected, documented, and examined for morphological and reproductive characteristics to determine ecological preferences and habitat distribution. Results: The study identified Bradybaena plectotropis as a dominant species in the region, demonstrating significant morphological adaptations and ecological versatility. Its roles in soil formation, organic matter decomposition, and trophic chains underscore its ecological importance. Additionally, its presence across varied biotopes highlights its adaptability and widespread distribution. Novelty: This research provides the first comprehensive faunistic and anatomical study of Bradybaena plectotropis in the Naryn River region, offering valuable insights into its taxonomy, ecological roles, and conservation relevance in Kyrgyzstan's mountainous ecosystem

    THE PREVALENCE OF URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS AND THE AGENTS RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM IN PREGNANT WOMEN IN THE PROVINCE OF KARBALA

    Objective: This study aimed to determine the prevalence of urinary tract infections (UTIs) and identify the uropathogens present in pregnant women. Methods: A total of 417 midstream urine samples were collected and examined between December 2021 and August 2022. The diagnosis of UTI was established when a urinary tract pathogen exhibited growth of at least 10510^5105 CFU/ml in culture. Isolated microorganisms were identified using biochemical assays. Results: The findings revealed that 49.4% of the pregnant women had a UTI. Among the isolated organisms, E. coli was the most prevalent (56.79%), followed by Proteus sp. (5.8%), Pseudomonas sp. (6.3%), and Klebsiella sp. (19.9%). Novelty: This study provides updated insights into the prevalence and microbial profile of UTIs among pregnant women, highlighting the dominance of E. coli as the leading uropathogen during pregnancy

    Estimate of Some Immune-Biomarkers in Children with Entamoeba Histolytica Infection

    The current work was aimed to evaluate of some immune-biomarkers in children with Entamoeba histolytica infection. General stool examination was done to patients for detection of E. histolytica infection. A total 150 patients of less than 13 years, whom attended the parasitology section at period February to June 2023. The chosen patients were suffered from abdominal pain and diarrhea. The results showed that gender is not related to infection with E. histolytica, as there were no significant (P≤0.05) differences between the proportions of males and females. The IgG concentration of infected children (24.05±3.94 ng/L) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (11.72±2.55 ng/L). IgA concentration of infected children (159.42±18.62 ng/L) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (38.93±7.01 ng/L). IgM concentration of infected children (4.84±0.45 ng/L) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (2.17±0.35 ng/L). The IL-4 concentration of infected children (29.47±4.04 pg/ml) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (16.54±3.94 pg/ml). IL-6 concentration of infected children (183.25±21.37 pg/ml) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (26.12±4.51 pg/ml). The TLR2 levels of infected children (24.05±3.94 ng/L) indicated a significant (P≤0.05) rise compared to the healthy children (11.72±2.55 ng/L). therefore, its concluded that E. histolytica lead to a high immune response that leads to an increase in levels of immune parameters in infected childre
