    Objective: This study aims to provide Continuity of Care (COC) midwifery services for pregnant, laboring, postpartum women, newborns, and family planning clients, ensuring comprehensive and sustainable care, particularly for cases with complex conditions. Method: A descriptive case study approach was employed, utilizing primary and secondary data collected through interviews, observations, examinations, and documentation reviews, analyzed according to midwifery care management. The case involved Mrs. M, a 31-year-old primigravida at 33/34 weeks of gestation with a breech presentation, grade 2 obesity, cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD), and speech impairment, conducted at RSIA Pura Raharja, Surabaya, starting December 9, 2024. Results: The implementation of COC midwifery care facilitated continuous monitoring and comprehensive management of Mrs. M's condition, improving maternal and fetal health outcomes while fostering trust and satisfaction in healthcare services. Novelty: This study highlights the integration of evidence-based midwifery care tailored for pregnant women with disabilities, emphasizing the role of COC in enhancing maternal and neonatal health while contributing to the reduction of maternal and infant mortality rates

    Objective: This study addresses the urgent issue of rational antibiotic therapy for pneumonia, focusing on improving the effectiveness of treatment and minimizing negative consequences. Despite the availability of various antibacterial agents, pneumonia incidence and complications continue to rise. Methods: The study examines two main trends in antibiotic selection for pneumonia: 1) the use of selective drugs to ensure a rational and cost-effective approach, minimizing disruption to the patient's saprophytic flora, and reducing the risk of superinfection and immunosuppressive effects; 2) empirical prescription of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Results: Findings highlight the effectiveness of selective antibiotics in reducing adverse outcomes, while broad-spectrum antibiotics are commonly used in empirical treatments. However, overuse of broad-spectrum agents may lead to resistance and other complications. Novelty: The research emphasizes the importance of rational antibiotic selection, advocating for selective drugs over broad-spectrum antibiotics to reduce the risk of resistance, improve patient outcomes, and avoid unnecessary side effects. This approach proposes a more targeted and economical method of managing pneumonia, offering a potential solution to the rising incidence and worsening consequences

    When an individual goes through dialysis in chronic kidney disease, the substances located in the bodies of patients undergo considerable fluctuations. Creatinine and urea are considered as kidney function indicators. In this regard, urea is an indicator of kidney change, and creatinine reflects the efficiency of glomerular filtration. The following data are markers that need to be kept on the observation under individuals on dialysis. The goal of the investigation is the biochemical parameters ratio pick up that can reflect the patients’ neurological state on dialysis. To ensure the transparency and reliability of the data sources, systematic review of scientific and methodological literature represented in the electronic databases VHL, Google scholar, SciELO, and recent publications from 2014-2023 has been carried out. Development of this subject has had given to the relationship of biochemical variables to CKD, creatinine, and urea. inclusion summary is provided. Research stakeholders included studies that were associated with patients’ biochemical variables and compared the denatured changes among bio-variable changes both before and after Dialysis. Hemodialysis was a significant intervention since it influences metabolic values towards normalcy. Creatinine and urea were seen to be affected much since their levels of changes indicated abnormalities of kidney organs. Therefore data extracted remain valuable in that, it is required for any regular check in patients undergoing dialysis treatment. Conclusion: It is imperative that healthcare providers treating patients with CKD on dialysis be well versed with biochemical indicators such as creatinine and urea, and understand their importance in patient management. Appropriate and timely monitoring of these markers enables healthcare professionals to initiate prompt intervention and treatment adjustments to enhance patient care and quality of life.     THE KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDES, AND PRACTICES OF LIVESTOCK DEALERS IN WASIT PROVINCE, IRAQ REGARDING ZOONOTIC INFECTIONS

    This study aims to determine the knowledge, attitudes, and practices about diseases transmitted to humans from animals. The sample of the study is 77 persons working as breeders, fatteners, and sellers of cows and sheep in the countryside of wasit, Iraq. Those people answered some sociodemographic questions in addition to another three kinds of questions (knowledge attitudes and practices), the level score of knowledge was calculated by giving one point to every question.  Participants were 72, and their average age was 45 years. The respondents whom had previously been infected were %87.6% of the respondents, however, 58.6% did not know that they infected from a healthy animal.  Only 12.6% of the respondents received training on animal husbandry. The participants who had agricultural education were 37.6% of the participants. Those who know un-boiled milk can transmitted diseases were %65 of the and 96% of whom used to consume un-boiled milk. In this study, the lifetime prevalence of contracting diseases from animals was found to be 5.6%. Wearing gloves 36.2% while only % 28 of the participants was wearing masks. Who did not use any personal protective equipment were %13. Using raw milk was common among those who did not know that raw milk would be infected (p = 0.02). The participants were well informed about the disease transmitted from animals but they had less knowledge that poultry was also a source of infection (P <0.001). Participants do not demonstrate simple personal protective behaviour. Zoonotic diseases can be effectively addressed through the practice of occupational pathology, regional protection, the necessity of using personal protective equipment, and participation in training, especially in how to use it

    Al-Sadir Teaching Hospital, Najaf, Iraq was the surrounding for this study that was done during the window of time from the 1st of January to the 1st of November of the same year. A descriptive, cross-sectional, hospital-based study of hospitals is investigated. The research was conducted during January, 1st 2023 and November 1, 2023 in the course of studies. The project evlaution was launched on 21st of January and finalized on 1st of November. The purpose of this researched was to determine proportion of patients who were infected with the blood borne diseases such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), and hepatitis C virus (HCV). All of these viruses are transmitted because the blood carries them. The technique was considered necessary to establish the amount of viral infection in these patients. ELISA testing was among the components, of the pre- surgical virus therapy, which was received by the patient and it was performed on the blood samples collected from the patient.Eventually we came to the conclusion that the procedures were applied as implied in the system. In our investigations, we determined that the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the one virus that had been identified to be infecting the people whose cases were detected by the examination process. The second most well-known virus after Human Virus (HCV) that is also categorized as one of the human viruses is the Human and Human Immune Globaly Viruses complex (HIV). I state emphatically discrimination or age bias was non existent during data collection at any point in time of the whole process. I got the data together in a process which of a ten months' duration and took place solely in this particular educational organization. A total of 125 individuals were tested positive out of which 64 were affected by HBV, 60 (60%) got affected by HCV, and 7 (70%) were affected by HIV. The isolation of the virus was only possible when it was passed on by all male who were tested. The girls had a unique and admirable quality: not a single one of them tested positive for the infection. It was evident among the people affected that about two thirds were male. Actually, only less than 1/3 (30%) of the females getting tested HIV positive, whereas 5 (43.4%) of them had HBV and even 5 (45%) of them showed the HCV result Thus, it is evident with the result seen that the number of cases of women from prevention to men who visited the health center was much lower.     This study deals with Isolation of bacteria causing dental caries from the Forty samples (male and female) were collected from patients attending the clinics of the Department of Dentistry at Bilad Al-Rafidayn University College for the period 7/11/2022 to 4/5/2023. The total of (58) isolates before and after cleaning and tooth extraction collected from male and female samples .After diagnosing these isolates, it was found that.  Streptococcus (42.5%)   and gram-negative (20%) before dental work and cleaning . The Percentage of Streptococcus after cleaning   (30%) and the  gram-negative rod (7.5%). The percentage of Streptococcus isolated  from tooth extraction (20%) and staphylococcus (2.5%) and gram-negative rod(2.5%). The spacemen were collected from the oral cavity and the culture was on mitis salivarius(Himedia/India) agar base, that was determined by biochemical tests by use of blood agar to detect hemolysis, the results revealed the samples were positive

Based on the more pronounced positive dynamics of the therapy itself, the improvement in the quality of life indicator and the indicator of adherence to treatment, it is shown that the use of this mobile application can be a highly effective method of monitoring the therapy of chronic non-infectious diseases when used correctly

    INVESTIGATION INTO THE IMPACT OF CARVCROL EXTRACTS ON BACTERIA ISOLATES FROM OSTEOMYLITIS AFTER SURGERY

    Carvacrol is one of the most ancient medicinal herbs. Carvacrol  contains different alkaloids, flavonoids and saponins. In present studies the antimicrobial activity of Carvacrol alcoholic  extract against Gram-negative bacterial and Gram-positive bacterial  were determined by the microtiter plate method. Gram-negative bacterial and Gram-positive bacterial  strains isolated from osteomyelitis patients after surgery in Mosul city , A total of 60  samples were collected from various sources in Mosul hospitals,  during the period from January 10, 2024 , to May 1, 2024. The Aim of this study is determining the effectiveness and effect of alcoholic extract of carvacrol on bacterial isolates taken from a Osteomyelitis  after surgery. Bacterial culture results on blood agar, MacConkey agar and nutreint agar  revealed 54 positive samples for bacterial growth. Among these, Staphylococcus aureus 22  isolates (32.8%), Pseudomonas aeruginosa 12 isolates (17.9%), Enterobacter cloacae 5 isolates (7.5%) Klebsiella pneumoniae 4 isolates (5.9%), Escherichia coli 4 isolates (5.9%), Proteus mirabilis 3 isolates (4.5%), Streptococcus viridans 3 isolates (4.5%), Corynebacterium spp 2 isolates (3%). As for the following bacterial isolates, each of them constituted one isolate out of a total of 67 isolates, at a rate of 1.5% for each: Providencia spp. , Acinetobacter spp., Staphylococcus  saprophyticus , Klebsiella oxytoca , Enterococcus spp. , Enterococcus faecium , Citrobacter freundii , Streptococcus groups C , Bacillus cereus , Enterobacter spp. , Acinetobacter baumannii , Morganella morganii, using vitek-2.  High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis of Oregano plant revealed the presence of active compounds such as Carvacrol, thymol. Plant extracts from carvacrol demonstrated a substantial inhibitory effect. Results: study indicated that plant extracts exhibited higher inhibition than antibiotics. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) while the results of the lowest inhibitory concentration of carvacrol for the bacterial species under study showed that it had an effect at a concentration of 615 µg/ml against Escherichia coli, 307.5 µg/ml for the species Corynebacterium stratium, Morganella morganii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the least effect was 76.875 µg/ml on Staphylococcus aureus, it gave less results than the antibiotic used  Carvacrol (Absorbance was measured at Wavelength 600)

    Antimicrobial resistance is a global public health challenge, which has accelerated by the overuse of antibiotics worldwide. Increased antimicrobial resistance is the cause of severe infections, complications, longer hospital stays and increased mortality. Overprescribing of antibiotics is associated with an increased risk of adverse effects, more frequent re-attendance and increased medicalization of self-limiting conditions. Antibiotic overprescribing is a particular problem in primary care, where bacteria cause most infections. About 90% of all antibiotic prescriptions are issued by general practitioners, and respiratory tract infections are the leading reason for prescribing. Multifaceted   interventions to reduce overuse of antibiotics have been found to be effective and better than single initiatives. Interventions should encompass the enforcement of the policy of prohibiting the over-thecounter sale of antibiotics, the use of antimicrobial stewardship programmes, the active participation of clinicians in audits, the utilization of valid rapid point-of- care tests, the promotion of delayed antibiotic prescribing strategies, the enhancement of communication skills with patients with the aid of information brochures and the performance of more pragmatic studies in primary care with outcomes that are of clinicians’ interest, such as complications and clinical outcomes
