EVALUATING THE IMPACT OF ENDOCRINE-DISRUPTING CHEMICALS ON FERTILITY IN WILDLIFE: FROM AMPHIBIANS TO MAMMALS
Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are contaminants that interrelate with wildlife's endocrine systems, producing negative influences on reproductive health and growth. Industrial pollutants, medicines and pesticides are between the chemicals that have develop a main source of worry due to of their pervasiveness in the environment and capability to reason ecological damage. This study brings both present data on the effects of EDCs on reproductive health in a diversity of animal species, particularly birds, fish, frogs, and mammals. Amphibians, together their complex life cycles and pored skin are particularly susceptible to EDCs. PRP THERAPY SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES URINARY INCONTINENCE SEVERITY AND IMPROVES QUALITY OF LIFE
This study explores the efficacy of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy in treating urinary incontinence (UI) among women in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Despite existing treatments, UI remains a significant concern, and PRP therapy's regenerative potential offers a promising alternative. Addressing a knowledge gap in long-term efficacy and quality of life impacts, a mixed-methods approach was employed, assessing 120 participants using ICIQ-SF, UDI-6, and SF-36 scores. Results indicated significant improvements in UI severity and overall quality of life, suggesting that PRP therapy could be a valuable, minimally invasive treatment. Further research is needed to optimize protocols and assess long-term outcome
REVEAL OF CERTAIN ADIPOKINES (ADIPONECTIN AND LEPTIN) AND PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS LEVELS IN WOMEN WITH INFERTILITY
Adipose tissue produces adipokines, and adipocytes have an impact on the reproductive organs through the production of adiponectin and leptin. Therefore, it is essential to evaluate adipokines and sex hormones in order to have a deeper understanding of infertility. Thus, the goal of the current study was to assess adipokines and biochemical markers in infertile patients. In this study, 65 women between the ages of 17 and 40 years old (mean: 27.8±4.08 years) were included. All were consecutively admitted to the clinic at AL-Kut Hospital for Gynecology Obstetrics and Pediatrics (infertility center) at February to May 2024. All women had infertility as diagnosed by the physician. also, this study including 40 healthy women as control group. The results showed that the concentrations of follicle stimulating hormone (7.42±0.13) and luteinising hormone (LH) (7.13±0.25) in serum of infertility women indicated a significant (P <0.05) rise in contrast to healthy women (5.037.42±0.29; 3.657.42±0.16). The levels of MDA (1.93±0.11) demonstrated significant (P <0.05) increase and GSH (0.371±0.027) decreased in infertility women compared with healthy women (1.22±0.09; 0.441±0.014). Adiponectin concentration in serum of infertility patients (4.55±0.19) indicated non-significant (P <0.05) variations in contrast to healthy women (4.61 ± 0.23). the concentration of leptin indicated a significant (P <0.05) rise in infertility women (14.83 ±1.92) in contrast to healthy women (5.48 ±0.41). Knowledge Gap: Despite the availability of screening tests, there remains a critical need for advancements in diagnostic technologies to enhance early detection rates and precision in identifying precancerous lesions and invasive cancer. Aims: This study aims to evaluate the impact of innovative technologies on the early diagnosis of precancerous conditions and cervical cancer, focusing on improvements in diagnostic accuracy, early detection, and subsequent patient management. Results: The integration of novel diagnostic technologies, such as advanced HPV testing methods, liquid biopsy techniques, and high-resolution imaging, has demonstrated significant improvements in detecting cervical abnormalities at earlier stages compared to traditional methods. These technologies enhance diagnostic precision and enable more targeted interventions. Novelty: This research highlights recent advancements in diagnostic technologies that offer higher sensitivity and specificity, including the use of biomarkers and novel imaging modalities, which represent a shift towards more personalized and effective cervical cancer screening strategies. CLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF BURNOUT SYNDROME
General Background: Emotional Burnout Syndrome (EBS) has emerged as a significant concern within healthcare professions, affecting the mental health and performance of medical practitioners. Specific Background: While various studies have examined EBS, there remains a lack of comprehensive analysis focused on the influence of demographic factors such as age and gender among doctors in diverse specialties. Knowledge Gap: Existing literature inadequately addresses the specific characteristics of EBS development across different age groups and professional roles, highlighting the need for targeted research in this area. Aims: This study aims to investigate the prevalence and developmental characteristics of EBS among doctors, with particular attention to variations by age and gender. Results: The findings indicate that female doctors aged 24 to 34 experience significantly higher overall stress levels compared to their male counterparts. Furthermore, women aged 46 to 55 demonstrated a pronounced resistance phase to stress. A weak direct correlation (p<0.05) was identified between the emergence of this resistance phase and the overall age of symptom development. Notably, over half of the respondents exhibited a resistance phase, while nearly 20% reported signs of stress and burnout. Oncologists and psychiatrists were found to have the highest prevalence of EBS. Novelty: This research provides new insights into the demographic factors influencing EBS, emphasizing the unique experiences of female medical practitioners and highlighting the specialties most affected. Implications: The findings underscore the necessity for healthcare institutions to implement targeted interventions to address EBS, particularly for vulnerable groups, thereby promoting the mental well-being of medical professionals and enhancing overall healthcare delivery
CLINICAL-IMMUNOGENETIC RELATIONSHIP IN CHILDREN WITH CHRONIC TONSILLITIS AND ASSOCIATED DISEASES
General Background: Chronic tonsillitis is a prevalent condition in children, often linked to various immunogenetic factors that influence its pathogenesis and associated diseases. Specific Background: The role of HLA (Human Leukocyte Antigen) system A and B loci in chronic tonsillitis remains inadequately understood, particularly regarding their clinical significance and the immunogenetic correlations with related conditions. Knowledge Gap: While prior studies have examined the genetic factors associated with chronic tonsillitis, there is a lack of comprehensive research focusing on the specific HLA loci and their implications for clinical outcomes in affected children. Aims: This study aims to determine the indicators of HLA A and B loci in children with chronic tonsillitis and to explore the clinical-immunogenetic correlations with associated diseases. Results: The findings demonstrate significant associations between specific HLA alleles and the severity of chronic tonsillitis, highlighting potential immunogenetic predispositions that influence disease progression and comorbidities. Novelty: This research introduces a novel perspective by linking HLA system indicators directly to clinical outcomes, thereby providing new insights into the immunogenetic mechanisms underlying chronic tonsillitis in children. MODERN USE OF DRUGS IN BRONCHOPULMONARY PATHOLOGY
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the rational pharmacotherapy for bronchopulmonary diseases in children with recurrent bronchitis, focusing on treatment effectiveness and safety. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 28 children aged 1.5 to 10 years, diagnosed with acute bronchitis, recurrent bronchitis, and pneumonia, was conducted. The patients were treated at a pulmonology department and underwent clinical, laboratory, and radiological assessments. Treatment regimens included third-generation cephalosporins, glucocorticoids, and antihistamines, administered according to age-based standards. Results: The study revealed that all patients exhibited moderate symptoms upon admission, with many presenting coexisting conditions such as chronic ENT diseases and iron-deficiency anemia. Clinical laboratory tests indicated iron deficiency anemia and mild leukocytosis across all groups, suggesting impaired oxygen delivery and ongoing inflammation. The pharmacotherapy was generally well-tolerated, with notable improvements in respiratory function and recovery in most children. Novelty: This study highlights the importance of personalized pharmacotherapy in managing recurrent bronchitis in children, particularly considering comorbid conditions. It emphasizes the role of comprehensive treatment protocols integrating antibiotics, glucocorticoids, and antihistamines for effective management
THE IDENTIFICATION OF PSEUDOMONAS AERUGINOSA IN DIVERSE CLINICAL SPECIMENS AND THE PATTERN OF ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE IN HUMANS
Objective: This study aims to identify the pollution foci of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) in hospital environments, utilizing a random sampling approach to collect diagnostic data from various sources in Al-Karama Teaching Hospital and Al-Hey Hospital. Methods: Eighty samples were collected, evenly distributed with 40 samples from each hospital. Biochemical and agronomic tests were conducted to identify P. aeruginosa isolates. Antibiotic sensitivity was assessed for ten isolates using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method across ten antibiotic classes. Results: The tests identified ten isolates of P. aeruginosa. The antibiotic sensitivity evaluation revealed that nearly all isolates exhibited considerable resistance to the antibiotics tested, demonstrating a broad spectrum of resistance to multiple antibiotic classes. Novelty: This study highlights the prevalence of P. aeruginosa in hospital settings and its significant resistance to commonly used antibiotics, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced infection control measures and antibiotic stewardship in healthcare facilities
Evaluation of different mouthwashes through their effect on their influence on the force loss of orthodontic elastic ligatures
Background: In several orthodontic treatments, elastomeric chains are utilised to produce force, however, this force degrades over time, which may impact tooth mobility. This study aims to investigate how different mouthwashes (Chlorhexidine 0.2%, Sensodyne, and Listerine) may affect the force degradation of two different types of elastic ligatures (Ortho Matrix and 3M Unitek) through the amount of force remaining.
Materials and methods: Two control groups and six experimental groups each included 600 pieces of the elastomeric chains Ortho matrix (OM) and 3M Unitek (3M). Pieces were stretched to a 25mm thickness, placed on pins set into an acrylic block, and kept at 37°C in artificial saliva. For the duration of the study, each of the test groups spent one minute immersed in one of three distinct kinds of mouthwash. Ten continuous thermocyclers with temperatures ranging from 5 to 55 degrees Celsius were performed each day, alternating between cold and hot water baths. While calculating the forces, we considered six different time intervals: the beginning, 24 hours, 1, 2, 4, and 6 weeks. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test and the t-test were used to compare the mean force of a number of different mouthwashes, elastomeric chains, and times. A value of 0.05 was chosen as the cutoff for statistical significance.
Results: Over time, both types of elastomeric chains significantly lost force at 6 weeks (p<0.05). At all times, the 3M Unitek (3M) created more force than the Ortho matrix (OM) elastomeric chain. Compared to other mouthwashes, chlorhexidine mouthwash had a substantially less impact on force degradation, with discernible very simple change when compared to control groups (Artificial saliva).
Conclusion: According to findings, the 3M Unitek offered a higher force level than the other sort of elastomeric chains, and there is a difference that is clinically significant between the two types of elastomeric chains. It is possible that the pH of the mouthwashes, as opposed to other substances, contributes to the gradual loss of power over time. Mouthwashes containing chlorhexidine had the third-smallest influence on the force degradation of elastomeric chains, after Sensodyne and Listerine.
