    Get PDF
Objective: This study aims to propose a comprehensive orthodontic treatment method for children with retained permanent teeth, taking into account individual anomalies, patient age, and the degree of tooth root formation when using orthodontic implant support. Method: A sample of 14 children with retained permanent teeth was treated using orthodontic implants between 2013 and 2015. The diagnosis included clinical and radiographic examinations, and the treatment approach was based on the cause of the retention, the tooth's position, and the degree of root formation. Treatment included removal of supernumerary teeth, surgical crown exposure, and orthodontic appliances. Results: The primary causes of retention were supernumerary teeth, incorrect alignment, and insufficient space in the dental arch. Most children showed successful eruption of permanent teeth within 2–6 months after treatment, with an orthodontic treatment period of 9–12 months. Novelty: This study introduces a holistic approach to treating retained teeth in children, emphasizing personalized treatment based on clinical assessments, root development, and available space, which enables quicker and more effective normalization of dental arch positions

    Get PDF
The purpose of this review is to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) in in the measurement and diagnosis of mandibular condyle morphology, in comparison to other diagnostic devices. The design and method In order to achieve our study, we searched several databases, including Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus. We only considered studies published between 2005 and 2023. Our review was focused on clinical trials, meta-analysis, article reviews, and randomized controlled trials. The exclusion criteria included patients with certain medical conditions, jaw abnormalities, jaw fractures, and animal experiments. The studies we analyzed had to address one specific question: What is the diagnostic accuracy of Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) compared to conventional tomography?             conclusion: CBCT has become a cost- and dose-effective alternative to CT for examining the condyle and also TMJs. This imaging method is better than conventional radiographic methods and MRI in assessing osseous TMJ abnormalities, despite being more sensitive to motion artifacts. In addition, CBCT-MRI fused images can significantly improve the reliability of observers in determining anterior disc displacement and bone changes of the TMJ. This technology can also be utilized to improve diagnostic efficacy, especially for inexperienced residents

Plasmids: Tiny pieces with high efficacy (Review)

Plasmids are of paramount importance in the field of bacterial ecology and evolution due to their facilitation of the horizontal transfer of accessory genes (HGT). It has become evident that, apart from their evolutionary role, plasmids also have the ability to influence the expression of various bacterial traits. Approximately 25% of the plasmids contain the necessary functions to autonomously undergo conjugation, while the remaining plasmids can be mobilized through conjugation at a later time. Given their potential significance, this review centers on the role of these minuscule sequences of nucleotides in various biological activitie

Production of alpha-amylase enzyme from grain sprouting

    Get PDF
Alpha-amylase is considered to be one of the primary enzymes responsible for starch degradation in cereals. During grain germination, α-amylase initiates the conversion of starch into simple sugars to fuel embryo and coleoptile growth in the first few days of germination. The present study involves the estimation of Alpha amylase content in four different grains varieties, namely, wheat grain and barley up to 8 days after germination. It was observed that, alpha amylase content steadily increased, and found to be saturated after reaching the peak values. In all the samples, the peak values were observed in 7th day of germination. The enzymatic assay were done by estimation of maltose content by Spectrophotometry as starch degraded to maltose by alpha amylase enzyme

Pregnancy brings changes to a woman's body, including in the digestive system which can cause nausea and vomiting, which generally occurs in the first trimester. Morning sickness is a common complaint in pregnancy, but there are also more severe conditions, such as hyperemesis gravidarum. Treatment for nausea and vomiting can be done with pharmacological or non-pharmacological therapy. Ginger, with its antiemetic properties, is a popular choice. Ginger candy is an effective way to consume ginger to reduce nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. Ginger steeping has also been proven effective in reducing symptoms of nausea and vomiting in first trimester pregnant women. This study aims to analyze the effect of giving ginger candy on nausea and vomiting in pregnant women. This research is a national literature review that was searched using Google Scholar with the keywords "nausea, vomiting", "ginger candy", and "pregnant women". Next, 5 national articles were selected. From all the articles it is known that there is an effect of ginger candy on reducing the level of nausea and vomiting in pregnant women
