    INTERNATIONAL FOCUS ON IMAGE DESCRIPTION

In recent years, the task of automatically generating image description has attracted a lot of attention in the field of artificial intelligence. Benefitting from the development of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), many approaches based on the CNN-RNN framework have been proposed to solve this task and achieved remarkable process. However, there remain two problems to be tackled in that most of existing methods only use imagelevel representation. One problem is object missing that there may miss some important objects when generating the image description and the other is misprediction that it may recognize one object to a wrong category. In this paper, to address the two problems, we propose a new method called global-local attention (GLA) for generating image description. The proposed GLA model utilizes attention mechanism to integrate objectlevel features with image- level feature. Through this manner, our model can selectively pay attention to objects and context information concurrently. Therefore, our proposed GLA method can generate more relevant image description sentences, and achieves the state-of-the-art performance on the well- known Microsoft COCO caption dataset with several popular evaluation metrics — CIDEr, METEOR, ROUGE-L and BLEU-1,2,3,4

Empirical Study on the Determinants of Unemployment Rate in Algeria

The purpose of this empirical study is to analyze the impact of specific variables on Algeria’s unemployment rate between 1995 and 2021. To achieve this, we utilized the Vector Auto Regressive (VAR) model. The variables considered in our analysis encompass the unemployment rate, economic growth rate, entrepreneurial activity, Human Development Index, and the number of internet users. This paper is structured into two principal sections. The first section provides a literature review concerning the factors influencing the unemployment rate. In the second section, we present our empiricalstudy to establish the relationship between the unemployment rate andthe other variables. The main results of this study demonstrate that economic growth rate, entrepreneurial activity, and the Human Development Index contributeto a reduction in Algeria’s unemployment rate. However, the variable related to internet usage intensity was not included in the final equationof the VAR3 model. Even in Granger causality tests, its impact was found to be statistically insignificant

The Reality of Economic Diversification and Its Role in Promoting Algerian Foreign Trade During the Period 2010-2016

The study aimed to analyze and highlight the impact of economic diversification on foreign trade at the theoretical level and then attempt to apply this to the reality of economic diversification in Algeria during the period (2010-2016). Given that Algeria's economy is heavily reliant on oil wealth, which is considered a finite resource threatened by depletion, the Algerian government deemed it necessary to transition from a rentier economy to a diversified one. This transition was achieved through a series of measures that aimed to bolster various economic sectors and encourage their penetration of international markets. The primary goal was to promote and diversify non-oil exports and eliminate export dependency on oil. However, it was concluded that economic diversification did not bring any significant value or change to Algerian foreign trade due to the continued reliance on oil exports by the government

EXCHANGE RATE VOLATILITY IN INDIAN MARKETS USING GARCH MODELS

The present study focuses on the time series behaviour of select currencies using GARCH Models. Monthly returns of currency prices exhibit aggressiveness and high degree of interdependence. In particular, generalized autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic GARCH (1, 1) processes fit to data very satisfactorily. Various out-of-sample forecasts of monthly return variances are generated and compared statistically. Forecasts based on the GARCH model are found to be superior. The common assumptions of this model is interdependence and linearity. This paper aims to model the volatility of INR exchange rates against USD for the period from January 2000 to 5 January 2023 using the Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) models. Both symmetric and asymmetric models have been applied to measure factors that are related to the exchange rate returns such as leverage effect and volatility clustering. Based on the results, the static forecast of GJR-GARCH (1, 1) is the best model in predicting the future pattern for both INR and USD
