RESPONSE OF WEANER RABBITS TO GRADED LEVEL OF OFFAL BASED DIETS OF TIGER NUT (Cyperus esculentus)
Twenty crosses of Californian x New Zealand breed of weaner rabbits averaging 4 to 6 weeks old of mix sexes were used to investigate the growth and haematological traits of rabbits fed on tiger nut offal (TNO) based diets ina 35- day experiment. They were randomly allotted to 5 treatment groups and replicated 4 times. Each replicate had 1 rabbit that was housed individually in a cage and were fed twice daily (7.00am and 4.00pm) and had access to drinking water at all times. Feeding troughs and drinkers were provided in each cage and a known quantity of feed was supplied daily. Five diets were compounded to be iso-nitrogenous (18% CP) and iso-caloric (2700 ME kcal/kg) and TNO was included in the diets at 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20%, respectively. Growth was observed and measured in the course of the feeding trial and the results showed non-significance (P>0.05) in feed intake (68.11-75.66 g/rabbit/day), body weight gain (5.39-8.40 g/rabbit/day), feed conversion ratio (6.64-7.82) and proteinefficiency ratio (11.59-13.38); other parameter included feed cost per kg and mortality. Blood samples from rabbit treatments revealed that there was no variation (P>0.05) in packed cells volume (26.25-34.00 %), haemoglobin (9.30-10.10 g/dl), red blood cells (2.23-2.93 X1012) and white blood cells (6.00-7.75 X107). Mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular haemoglobin, mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration, neutrophils and leucocytes were also not affected by the graded levels of TNO. Serum biochemistry analyses also showed that there was no variation (P>0.05) in the serum glucose (3.65-5.75 mol/l), cholesterol (2.80-5.00 mmol/l), total protein (48.50-52.50 g/dl), albumin (24.00-43.50 g/dl), creatinine (44.50-66.00 μ/l) and triglyceraldehyde (0.25-0.80 mmol/l). Similarly, serum enzymes, alkaline phosphatase, aspartate transaminase and alanine transaminase were not affected (P>0.05) by the inclusion of TNO in the diets. All the electrolytes analyzed, phosphate, calcium, sodium, chloride and bicarbonate were not influenced (P>0.05) by the treatments. The inclusion of TNO in the diet of rabbits did not affect their health status, nutrient bioavailability, and utilization as well as growth rate therefore; farmers can incorporate up to 20% of TNO in the diets of rabbits without causing any deleterious effect
STRUCTURAL AND OPTOELECTRONIC PROPERTIES OF ZnS NANOPARTICLES EXPOSED TO ORGANIC AND INORGANIC CAPPING AGENTS
ZnS nanoparticles capped with Sodium Carboxyl-methyl Cellulose (CMC-organic) and Tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS-inorganic) as capping agents were synthesized by chemical co-precipitation and sol-gel technique respectively. Structural, morphological and optical studies of the synthesizes nanoparticles were carried out using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy and Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Studies of the capped ZnS nanoparticles revealed zinc blende structure.Particle sizes calculated from Williamson-Hall (W-H) analysis of Uniform Deformation Model (UDM) were (ZnS:CMC) and (ZnS:SiO ). The average strain values calculated from the model indicated that ZnS:SiO has while ZnS:CMC has All samples had smooth surfaces due topassivation of the capping agents. Optical absorption studies shows a blue shift of the absorption edge with bandgap values of and for ZnS:CMC and ZnS:SiO which are higher than the bulk value of ZnS nanoparticles due to quantum confinement effect. The vibrational modes associated with OH-stretching at and the carboxylic group –COOH at confirms the presence of capping agent from the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurement
GEOCHEMICAL APPRAISAL OF OBUDU RANCH SPRING SOUTH -EASTERN NIGERIA
Contamination is becoming a threat to spring water in Nigeria especially the Obudu Cattle Ranch spring. This ground water resource is the major source of potable water for both the inhabitants and the agrarian society of the community. This work is part of continuous appraisal of Obudu Cattle Ranchspring. This is to identify the extent of possible contamination and infer the potability of the water. Routine analysis was conducted on the spring water samples to check for the physical, chemical and bacteriological constituents which include the pH, temperature, turbidity, conductivity, alkalinity, magnesium and others. Therefore, the geochemical status of Obudu Cattle Ranch spring in Calabar was assessed for a period of nine years at the peak period of the dry season (in March); using atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The result obtained show that, the pH value ranges from 5.7 to 7.3 signifying slightly acidic to neutral water. 
Step-Index Plastic Optical Fibre (SI-POF) Channel Optimisation: M-PAM and Equalization
Step-Index Plastic Optical Fibre (SI-POF) is gaining popularity in local area network installations due to its characteristics as an inexpensive medium. This research optimized SI-POF channel of two distances (30metres and 60metres) by introduction of equalizer(s) at the output channel signal with M-PAM (PAM-2 and PAM-4) modulation scheme to address bandwidth limitation and inter symbol interference (ISI). The study which was carried out in MATLAB R2019a environment, study employed decision feedback equalizer-DFE (2, 1), (4, 2) and linear equalizer-LE (2, 0) algorithms to train the output channel signal. The study adopted scatter plots, bit error rate (BER) and data rate (DR) as indices to improve the performance of the output signal. 
ASSESSMENT OF LUMBER RECOVERY EFFICIENCY AND WASTE GENERATED IN SOME SELECTED WOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY IN SOUTH WESTERN NIGERIA
Lack of appropriate technologies in the wood processing industries in Nigeria has resulted in lower productivity and poor lumber recovery while in-situ primary processing of timber with appropriate technologies has not been well established to remedy this situation. This study assess the volume lumber recovery efficiency and waste generated in conventional, portable and artisanal sawmills in two selected locations within Southwestern Nigeria with a view to finding an alternative to this situation. Logs of about 11.34m3 volume were randomly selected and data were collected on the output/volume recovery and waste generated in each of theprocessing method. Data collected on the waste generated was partitioned in to sawdust and slab. ANOVA was used to analyze the data and mean separation was done using Duncan post hoc test 
INFLUENCE OF SOCIOECONOMIC FACTORS ON WOMEN FARMERS’ ACCESS TO AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION IN MADAGALI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF ADAMAWA STATE, NIGERIA
The study was carried out to analyze the influence of socio-economic factors on women farmer’s access to agricultural information in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State, Nigeria. The study sought to describe the socio-economic characteristics of rural women farmers and identity the sources of agricultural information available to them, examine the types of agricultural information accessed by them and identity the constraints to access information. Primary data was obtained through purposive and simple random sampling techniques using 180 respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistic logit regression and Likert type rating scale. The findings revealed that age, educational level, extension contact, and societal affiliation are significant in influencing the level of access to agricultural information by the rural women farmers. Poor extension contacts, illiteracy, poverty, crowded household chores and shyness to access information were also identified as some of the constraints to accessing information
CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY OF EFFICACY OF ALBENDAZOLE IN THE TREATMENT OF SOIL HELMINTHES INFECTED SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN IN PARTS OF ODEDA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of albendazole (ALB) amongst soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infected school aged children (SAC) cross-section ally in Odeda Local Government Area (LGA), Ogun State, Nigeria. Consented 485 pupils between the ages of 5 – 16 years were examined for STH infections using the Kato-katz technique at baseline. All consented SAC were treated to a single dose (400mg) of ALB. Closeended questionnaires on safety of ALB administered to SAC, 24 hours after ingestion. Stool samples werecollected at 3-weeks post treatment to re-examine for Egg Reduction Rate (ERR) and Cure Rate (CR). The results were analyzed using SPSS version 20 with Chi-square set at p = 0.05 to compare relationship between demography factors and prevalence. Of the 485 pupils, an overall prevalence of 138(28.5%) were found to be infected with various species of STH infections.

With the increasingly growing reliance on electronic mail there is an increasing demand to develop a cheap and readily available effective communication process amongst people in a closed group with similar interest. This research work considered the analysis and development of an electronic mail (Email) and a multiuser chat system to enhance effective communication. The analysis and implementation of Email and the multiuser chat system is subdivided into three stages namely: programing, database management, and networking. Using Java programming language; which involves the coding of the server and the client components, MySQL; which consist of the development of the database management system, and a wireless router; to provide internet connectivity, real time electronic messages, whether online or offline, can be sent and received at zero cost amongst a group of people who share the same area of communicative commonality
VIBRATION ANALYSIS OF TIMOSHENKO BEAM SUBJECTED TO PARTIALLY DISTRIBUTED MOVING LOAD
Vibration analysis of a Timoshenko beam subjected to a partially distributed load was considered in this paper. The governing equation of fourth-order partial differential equation was reduced to a second-order Ordinary Differential Equation by normalizing the governing equation. The reduced second-order equation was further reduced to a first order ordinary differential system and was solved using fourth-order Runge-Kunta Method. The deflection for various parameters of the beam was considered and was plotted against x. It is observed that the vibration of the beam initially moves in a steady state before deflecting and the deflected amplitudeincreases as the Shear modulus, distance covered by the load, Mass of the load, Shear coefficient but decreases as the length of the load, the coefficient of the Shear foundation increases. 
SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS FOR THE MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF MONKEY POX VIRUS INCORPORATING QUARANTINE AND PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT CAMPAIGN
In this paper sensitivity analysis was carried out for the mathematical modeling of Monkey pox virus incorporating quarantine and public enlightenment campaign into the human population. The model was formulated using first order ordinary differential equations. The model equation was divided into two populations of human and rodents. There are two equilibrium points that exist in the model; Disease Free Equilibrium (DFE) and Endemic Equilibrium (EE). The Local and Global stabilities of Disease Free Equilibrium (DFE) were analyzed. The basic reproduction numbers of human to human 0h R and rodent to rodent r R0 transmission was computed. The sensitivity analysis of the Basic reproduction number with the parameters was carried out.
