HARVEST TIME AND SUGAR COMPOSITION OF EARLY AND LATE CULTIVATED STAPLE-TYPE SWEET POTATO (Ipomoea batatas (L) Lam) CULTIVARS ON THE JOS PLATEAU, NIGERIA
Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L) Lam) is a Staple – type food source on the Jos Plateau. A study was carried out to assay for its carbohydrate and soluble sugars at different harvest times. The improved varieties CIP4400168, Ex-Igbariam, Tanzania, TIS 8164 and TIS 87/0087 and local landraces, Jandankali I, Jandankali II, Jandankali III local varieties were collected from farmers on the Jos Plateau. These were planted within Jos, harvested after 4 and 6 months, processed into chips of 1 x 1 x 6mm dimension, dried in Air ovendrier, milled and sieved to fine flours. One gram (1.0g) of the flour was dissolved in 50ml of distilled water, shaken in 250ml flask to extract its constituents, tested for carbohydrate and soluble sugars qualitatively and quantitatively for glucose, fructose, maltose and sucrose. 
OUTCOME OF CALCIUM AND PHOSPHOROUS MINERAL SOURCES ON PERFORMANCE, CARCASS AND BONES CHARACTERISTICS OF BROILERS
This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of utilization of Bone meal, Limestone, Oyster shell and Egg shell as Calcium and Phosphorous mineral sources on performance, carcass and bones characteristics of broilers. A total of sixty (60) four (4) weeks old broiler chicks were raised on commercial chick mash (1- 30 d) prior to the commencement of the experiment and experimental diets were formulated to provide approximately 3050-3100 kcal/ME, 19-20% crude protein (CP) using the least cost feed formulation softwarefeed win during the 21 d feeding trial period. The experimental birds were assigned to four (4) dietary treatments groups of two (2) replicates in a completely randomized design with 2.5 % inclusion of limestone), oyster shell, bone meal) and egg shell constituting the treatments. Significant (P<0.05) differences were observed in some performance parameters like feed intake (FI), weight gain (WG) and feed conversion ratio (FCR). Similarly some carcass parameters were also significantly affected by the experimental treatments. The effects on bone characteristics were significant (P<0.05). There was no consistent trend in the differences observed for all test Ca and P sources. It is therefore recommended that all the experimental calcium sources can be included to constitute up to 2.5% in the diet of broiler chicken. This will afford small scale poultry producers the control of using eggshell, bone meal, limestone and oyster shell as sources of calcium, phosphorus and other minerals for sustainable broiler chicken productio
GROWTH AND YIELD RESPONSES OF SOYA BEAN (Glycine max L.) TO VARYING SPACING IN JALINGO, TARABA STATE
A field experiment was carried out to study the effects of plant spacing on the growth and yield of soybeans (Glycine max L.), variety TGX 448-2E during 2016 cropping season at the Research farm of the Taraba State University, Jalingo. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) having nine treatments replicated three times. Treatments included 5x30cm (T1), 5x45cm (T2), 5x60cm (T3), 10x30cm (T4), 10x45cm (T5), 10x60cm (T6), 15x30cm (T7), 15x45cm (T8) and 15x60cm (T9). Parameters monitored were plant height, number of leaves plant-1, number of days to 50% flowering, number of flowers plant-1, number of pods plant-1, number of seeds pod-1, number of seeds per plant-1 and total grain yield plot-1. Results of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) of data collected revealed that plant height varied significantly (p˂0.05) with tallest plants (41.5cm) obtained with 5x30cm spacing and lowest with 10x45cm spacing. Number of leaves plant-1 was highest (19.4) with 15x60cm and lowest with 5x30cm spacings accordingly. Number of seeds pod-1 was similar in all inductive spacings. Number of seeds plant-1 varied significantly (p˂0.05) between the treatments with highest number of seeds obtained from the 15x30cm spacing. Total seed weight plot-1 was significantly (p˂0.05) highest with 5x45cm and 15x60cm spacings. These results showed that the plant spacings 5x45cm and 15x60cm which gave the highest yield may be recommended for the location for best yield
GEOPHYSICAL STUDY OF BRINE DEPOSITS USING ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITY TECHNIQUE IN AWE, AWE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF NASARAWA STATE IN NIGERIA
Forty-five (45) Vertical electrical sounding (VES) were carried out in Awe brine field Awe LGA, Nasarawa State, with the aim of providing valuable information on the geology of the area, and delineating the brine deposits and their subsurface configuration. The VES result(curves) obtained showed a dominant trend of decreasing resistivity with depth which indicates increase in salinity with depth. The result also revealed four distinct geoelectric layers. The first layer which constitutes the top soil showed resistivity values rangingbetween 4.2 Ωm and 282.5 Ωm; and the thickness ranging from 0.276 m to 19m; the second layer has resistivity values which vary between 11 Ωm and 650Ωm with the thickness ranging from 0.502m to 22.47m. The third geoelectric layer is interpreted as the brine zone. The resistivity of this layer is generally low at most locations. Its values vary from 0.12Ωm to 97Ωm with thickness ranges between 0.210 m to 21.56m. The low resistivity of the layer confirmed the presence of brine deposit within it. The geoelectric section revealed the occurrence of brine deposit between the depth interval of 4 and 38m in the study area. The fourth layer show resistivity values which vary between 15 Ωm and 34568 Ωm and thickness between 5.34 m to 44.78m. The layer revealed very high resistivity in most VES locations however, some points showed low resistivity which may be because of infiltration of brine from the upper laye
WATER USE EFFICIENCY OF OKRA AMENDED WITH SAW-DUST UNDER DEFICIT IRRIGATION IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT
Enormous funds are spent annually on providing moisture for crop use throughout each planting cycle. The sharp depletion of moisture available for planting necessitates essential amendment measures, keenly focused on moisture conservation. A research trial consisiting of an experimental design of 12 samples arranged in a specific order to meet the research requirement. Treatment samples of soil–sawdust were mixed proportionally at (25%-75%, 50%-50%, 75%-25%, 100%-0%) with varying water application of (100%, 50% and 25%). Growth stages amongst samples were visible owing to variance in height and yield. The amended samples greatly conserved moisture through a wide margin by the difference in bucket weight. Rates of moisture conservation in amended samples correspondingly declined with a descending sawdust application; samples with greater sawdust application showed higher moisture conservation. The growth and yield of the amended samples to the leave-alone samples greatly varied. The leave-alone samples proved to be less moisture conservative, but showing high- moisture usage potential 
AN IMPROVED FAMILY OF BLOCK METHODS BASED ON THE EXTENDED TRAPEZOIDAL RULE OF SECOND KIND AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
We present a family of three and five step extended trapezoidal rule of second kind (ETR2s) in block form for thesolution of stiff ordinary differential equations. The block methods were derived via interpolation and collocation procedures. We determined the order, error constant, zero stability to show convergence. The absolute stability region of our block methodsindicates that they are A-Stable, hence suitable for stiff system of ODE problems. The solution curves obtained tends to suggest that our methods compete favorably with the well-known ODE Solver ODE23s. Four numerical examples were used to demonstrate the efficiency of the new block methods,the absolute errors attest to the performance of our methods in-terms of accuracy 
VARIABLE GENETIC EXPRESSIONS AND INTERRELATIONSHIP BETWEEN GRAIN YIELD AND SOME QUALITY TRAITS OF ACHA (Digitaria spp.) ACCESSIONS IN JOS PLATEAU
Acha (Digitaria exillis kippis. Stapf and D. iburua Stapf L) is one of the oldest West African cereal and of great value to the natives. It belongs to the Poaceae (Grass) family. Despite its potentials, Acha has remained a marginal crop. The present study focused on the evaluation of the variable genetic expressions and interrelationship between grain yield and some morphological traits of some Acha accessions. These accessions were collected from farmers in five villages of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. This work was conducted at the end of the 2019 rainy season at the Federal College of Forestry Jos. Grains were harvested from the experimental field and proximate analysis was conducted for the Ash content, crude fat, crude fibre, protein content, carbohydrate content, moisture content, dry matter content and energy values. Analysis of variance revealed variability among the different accessions and the variability spanned the nutritional composition of Acha. 
DESIGNING AN OFFSET POISSON-GAMMA MIXTURE REGRESSION MODEL
The problem of over-dispersion often encountered by Poisson distribution is what gave rise to the development of the Poisson-Gamma mixture distribution. This distribution is a mixture of a family of Poisson distributions with Gamma mixing weights. The log likelihood function of the Poisson-Gamma mixture distribution has been exponentiated in order to extract the canonical link of the mixture distribution. This link function is re-expressed as a sum of the loglinear link and an offset. By implication, modeling for the Poisson-Gamma mixture model amounts to modeling for the Poisson loglinear model and adding the offset term to the result. This model can be used to model HIV/AIDS infection rate for multiple sex partners. It is theoretically shown that the mixture distribution reduces to the Poisson distribution and that in large samples, the Poisson-Gamma mixture is approximated by the Poisson distribution
A TRANSSHIPMENT MINIMIZATION MODEL FOR BUA MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
Establishing an optimal distribution plan for BUA Cement manufacturing industries has remained a challenge due to the frequent fluctuations of cost of transporting cement. This research revealed a Transportation Optimization Model for cement distribution using Transportation Distance Matrix instead of Transportation Cost Matrix. The study optimized the transportation distance of cement with special interest from two plants namely; Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (Kalambaina, Sokoto) and BUA (Okpella, Edo State) while Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kano, Kaduna and Katsina States in Nigeria and as well as Niger Republic were identified as distribution centers. The result of the findings using the Vogel Approximation Method, minimized the total transportation distance and by implication the total transportation costs. 
CONCEPTUAL EVALUATION OF INFORMATION SYSTEM’S PROCESSES AND CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: A CASE STUDY
We cannot deny the role of information system processes in the actualization of an organization’s objectives in terms of customer relationship and loyalty. Despite these roles, some school of thought, believes information system processes have nothing to do with customer loyalty. This study aims to evaluate information systems, processes and customer experience management of Etisalat Nigeria. Participants were randomly selected and administered questionnaires. Participants were asked to provide response relating to satisfaction, loyalty, trust, and perception of service quality of the Nigerian communication services. The result of the analyses revealedthat management information systems processes have a negative/weak correlation with an insignificant impact on customer loyalty. On the other hand, management information system processes portray a positive/weak correlation indicating an insignificant impact on customer satisfaction. This result was confirmed by the regression analysis of the study, which also revealed the study had no error term of variance.
