RISK CAUSED BY NATURAL OCCURRENCE OF DEOXYNIVALENOL IN FEED FOR COWS
The aim of the study was to predict the transfer of mycotoxin deoxynivalenol (DON) from naturally contaminated feedstuffs to cows´ milk under on-farm conditions. The experiment was carried out in a private farm on 10 lactating Czech Fleckvieh x Holstein cows. The experiment lasted 14 days and was divided into an adaptation (11 d) and collection periods (3 d). The cows were fed individually twice a day and the diet consisted of corn silage, haylage, meadow hay and a supplemental mixture. Bulky feeds were produced from own-grown forages that were not treated against the fungi. Feed intake and milk yield was monitored daily. Samples of individual feedstuffs were analysed on the content of basic nutrients and DON. Milk was analysed on basic constituents. From the obtained results, dry matter (DM) and DON intakes were calculated. Content of DON in milk was predicted using carry-over rates of 0.0001 % and 0.0024 % available in the literature. All feedstuffs were naturally contaminated with DON. The highest concentration was found in corn silage, 389 μg/kg DM, and the lowest in hay and haylage, 15 μg/kg DM. The average daily intake of DON was 3515.3 μg/day. The predicted concentration of DON in milk ranged between 0.00018 and 0.00422 μg/l
IN-VITRO RETENTION OF DIFFERENT 15N SOURCES AT BIOCHAR
Biochar, which can be used for improving soil fertility, is a carbon rich, heterogeneous, and chemically complex material. It is known that biochar ab/adsorbs nutrients, but there is still a lack of knowledge regarding these effects. To investigate the ability of biochar to adhere nitrogen an in-vitro experiment was conducted. Different inorganic (ammonium, nitrate, and ammonium nitrate) and organic 15N sources (urea; valine, phenylalanine, isoleucine, and glutamic acid; also yeast protein as a high molecular weight compound) were added to Pyro-biochar and to HTC-biochar to estimate retention after 15 and 30 days, and also to examine the effect of washing on 15N. The 15N in-vitro retention (%) of 15N-inorganic and 15N-organic substances at Pyro-BC and HTC-BC, at days 15 and 30, was less than 10% for both biochar’s. This amount could substance specific clearly reduced by washing. The high molecular weight 15N yeast protein adhered to 30% for HTC-biochar, which was 3-fold higher than for Pyro-biochar. Therefore, the manufacturing process of the two biochar’s had a significant impact on in-vitro retention. The functional groups, and therefore Van-der-Waals-interactions, chemical reaction, the affiliation of amino acids and the molecular size of compounds, such as yeast protein, can affect the 15N retention of these substances
A STUDY OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF STRENGTH MOTOR QUALITY IN SECONDARY EDUCATION THROUGH TAEKWONDO – SPECIFIC MEANS
In sports there are a multitude of methods for developing "strong" motor quality, and very often training methods and methodical procedures specific to sports are applied in physical education classes in primary, elementary and middle schools in order to develop these motor qualities. In the directed physical activity there are numerous training methods and methodical procedures to develop strength in children. Properly adapted to the specific characteristics of age and training of the students these methods and procedures may become effective in optimizing the process of gaining and improving this motor quality. The aspects above were decisive in choosing this topic for further research, which aims to highlight the effectiveness of methodical procedures specific to Taekwondo in the development of strength and strong motor quality of fifth grade students in middle school. Through this research the author wishes to make known the benefits of Taekwondo for young people who practice it not only as an extracurricular activity but also as a complementary one, as a booster in the practice of other sports, with great benefits to those who practice individual sports but especially to those who are engaged in sports games
COLLABORATIVE LEARNING: WORKING WITH WORLD CAFÉ METHODOLOGY IN A POSTGRADUATE STUDY COURSE FOR FUTURE EDUCATORS
The paper explores the connections between collaborative learning and the World Café methodology in an educational basis. World Café was used in a large group of postgraduate students. The aim was to discover at which extent would support the communication of individual ideas and producing new collective ones. Research on a postgraduate level, find students coming from different institutional and working environments, sharing diverse interdisciplinary backgrounds. The article claims that innovative forms of collaborative learning, as the World Café is, shape a desirable alternative way for students to experience their journey to knowledge. Our particular work with the students included interactive practices that focused on reflecting on real problems regarding education today. The article describes and analyses the method both as a practice to be researched as well as a useful flexible format to investigate educational issues. This paper argues the extensive interest in the methodology, highlighting the benefits of working with the World Café, a creative process based on dialogue, co-creation and collective knowledge. The results of the evaluation and the overall feedback from students showed that this particular method had a strong impact on their interaction and communication skills, introducing a new perspective for learning
ONLINE LEARNING IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: TEACHER REPRESENTATIONS AND TECHNOLOGICAL INSTRUMENTS
Online teaching has become the fundamental teaching tool during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to guarantee the right to study, educational institutions have quickly tried to change the teaching-learning methods and digital tools already possessed. This modality required wide technological skills and a reorganization of the educational objectives of the school and family context. This paper aims to present the online teaching methods implemented, the teaching profession, the pros and cons of online teaching-learning processes, and the digital tools chosen by schools and teachers to promote inclusive learning. The study involved 284 teachers from kindergarten to secondary school in the Italian context. Questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were carried out between April 2020 and June 2020. The data analyzed show that all educational institutions have adopted at distance teaching-learning devices to avoid the collapse of the scholastic system by March 2020. Teachers reported that they initially sought to reproduce face-to-face teaching strategies in the online contexts. This allowed teachers to work in their comfort zone, but did not promote long-term results. The data shows an increase in the representations of the workload and a lowering of students’ learning results. The difficulty in differentiating the school context from the family one emerged. The technological devices and platforms chosen often did not have the necessary functionalities to reproduce an in presence teaching-learning process. Sometimes the functionalities were not known by teachers to be fully applied. The family-school relationship has changed, becoming more informal and continuous during the day. All respondents agree that the teaching strategies chosen during the first phases of the pandemic were emergency strategies that have fastly attempted to promote learning and interaction. The tools and methodologies of online teaching are not the same as those of school teaching in presence. The importance of digital pedagogy and the need to include it in training programs to prepare future teachers for the light in the new social reality is fundamental
SURVEY ON STUDENT STRESS DURING BLENDED LEARNING DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
This study aims to analyze the effect of blended learning on psychological distress among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This work is part of an ongoing study that begun in the spring semester, which revealed that most students have adapted well to online learning. However, they felt exhausted and stated the hard work involved as a negative point, as well as the lack of meaningful social interactions. In the present work and in order to identify students’ mental well-being, an online survey, based on Maslach Burnout Inventory–Student Survey, was conducted. This study provided a better understanding of how blended learning influences students\u27 mental health. It also helped us adapt our teaching activities to this new reality, promoting teamwork and oral presentations
BUYBACK CIRCULAR ECONOMY BUSINESS MODEL ADAPTATION POSSIBILITY IN THE E-COMMERCE & TRANSPORTATION SECTORS, FUELED BY COVID-19
Today’s world is at crossroads. The environmental problems are setting the boundaries for businesses, technology, consumerism and society alike. Dealing with these issues make some industries’ futures convergent. The subject of this study is such a common future of three industries: the logistics sector, the e-commerce and the circular economy. COVID-19 changed the landscape of every industry, however, for all these, in the good way. E-commerce has made significant adaptation boom, doubling its already impressive growth. As a result, almost all people have either used or heard of some e-commerce solutions. The bonds with the couriers even gave a personal touch to it. However, the question arises about the waste from e-commerce, and the possible utilization of this new channel between firms and customers. The aim of this research is to explore the landscape in a survey research in the context of Hungarian respondents. The snowball sampling method resulted in conclusions amongst the 18-25 age group. They have experience in using reverse logistics services, and would also trust such an initiative in a wider context. The responses also show the boundaries of possible different customer segments, based on preferred compensation or motivation and recollection methods
SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DIMENSIONS OF DISTRICT HEATING: A CASE STUDY
Among major contemporary issues, energy resources and sustainability have caused global concern, thus, emphasizing a more rational use of energy systems and renewable sources for power and heat generation systems, such as district heating. In Greece, energy resources and environmental issues have been given great emphasis. Recently, environmentally friendly policies have been focused on relevant laws, incentives for renewable energy implementation schemes, and applications of new technologies. In this context, there has been a considerable increase in the number of district heating units, and, as a consequence, in the variety of financial, environmental, and power generation benefits. Major district heating facilities have been established in various areas, among which Ptolemaida, Amyntaio, Kozani, Serres, and Megalopolis. The present survey, which was carried out to investigate the socio-economic dimensions of district heating, was based on a representative sample from Ptolemaida, where winter is long, weather conditions are harsh, and district heating units are close to large PPC facilities. The corpus of data was drawn from the analysis of a structured questionnaire comprised of two parts with 21 questions answered through social media by residents, in April and May 2019. The 401 questionnaires were analyzed, first, by employing descriptive statistics and, subsequently, via SPSS. The research results demonstrate that, before district heating was introduced, heating generation mostly relied on oil-fired boiler systems, the heating cost of which was changeable in contrast to district heating prices, which are rather fixed, and, thus, affordable. In addition, the results indicated that a reduction in imported oil consumption is conducive to national economic growth. Heating quality in district heating systems is considered fairly high mainly in terms of the high thermal efficiency it provides. District heating has greatly contributed to reducing pollutants and protecting the environment, especially in areas such as Ptolemaida, which is heavily affected. Finally, the research also demonstrated that an overwhelming majority perceive the crisis as a great opportunity for fostering ecology awareness and the use of renewable energy
DEFI (DECENTRALIZED FINANCE) WILL LEAD TO A REVOLUTION IN THE WORLD OF FINANCIAL SERVICES
A financial system is a network of institutions, regulations, and financial products and services available on a given market. We have local law as a basis. We have institutions that create and enforce them. Important entities are centres that provide financial services, such as banks, stock exchanges and brokers. After all, we have different products and services. From simple ones as bank accounts and deposits, through various forms of loans, to derivatives. Finally, we have clients who use this financial booth. On the one hand, all this is done to provide capital where it is needed and can be used best. On the other hand, provide a profit to the capital providers. The third important function of the financial system is to eliminate the risk of various economic activities. A developed, healthy financial system is the basis for the development of a strong economy. DeFi, on the other hand, is a decentralized financial system, which means that it does not have one central organization or institution that would be responsible for the entire system or its individual elements. Decentralization is possible because DeFi is based on a public blockchain using smart contracts. This article will present both the DeFi mechanism and the overall issue of finance-technology and its impact on the world of traditional finance, in particular that at the moment in the COVID-19 era, cashless services, e-commerce and the search for capital investment opportunities in new funded sources has become the number one topic among researchers / scientists and investors. It should be emphasized that virtual finance, including the virtual circulation of money, minimize the need for interpersonal contacts to zero. This is important because the use of funds and shopping in the comfort of your own home reduces the need for interpersonal contacts, which at the same time contributes to the spread of the virus among people. On the other hand, the DeFi market is still in its infancy and is largely undervalued given its potential to disrupt the traditional financial sector - hence its enormous growth potential
HOME DELIVERY SERVICE - SOME ISSUES OF CUSTOMERS ATTITUDE
The service sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. It is of great importance in meeting the diverse needs of consumers. Technological shifts and digitalization processes in the world have led to changes in people\u27s daily lives and consumer behavior. A significant portion of consumers are increasingly trying to spend less time and energy on daily routine shopping. Part of the population is out of the habit to queuing to buy the desired product, going a long way to get services. The change in consumer behavior has led to an increase in the number of fast delivery companies in both the international and Georgian markets. Demand for this type of service has further increased in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. In this paper is presented study and analysis of the attitude of consumers towards the home delivery service on the example of Tbilisi (the capital of Georgia). The aim of the study is to identify problems in this area, as well as to study consumer attitudes about this service. The article analyzes the growing importance of on-site delivery service in meeting the diverse needs of customers. Our task is to identify the weaknesses that are observed when providing this service. The paper presents the results of a marketing survey of consumers \u27attitudes towards home delivery service and proposes the authors\u27 recommendations to better meet the needs of buyers with this type of service
