THE PRINCIPLE OF GLOBAL AXIOLOGY IN THE FORMAT OF PHILOLOGOCENTRIC CULTURE: OBJECTIVES - PURPOSES
The main purpose of interdisciplinarity, which concerns us in an advanced specific context: philology, ethics, aesthetics, logistics, pedagogy, psychology, historiology, philosophy of education - philosophy of creativity, is one of advancement in professional specifics, formation of philological culture, from TMSC / special theory and methodology towards TMGC / general theory and methodology of creativity. Prepared for the targeted interdisciplinary engagement, philological training in the format of representative transgression defines as: (*) Open curricular process of value efficiency and self-efficiency: interest-effort-knowledge-value judgment; employment in experiential-exercise self-assessment. (*) Emerging axiological product, focused on the formation of a specific creative style: the individual - principle, project, integrative experience. PEDAGOGICAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF HOMESCHOOLING
In most countries, compulsory schooling is provided for children between the ages of 6 and 16. That said, a collective exists made up of families that, rather than sending their children to school, opt instead to take on the responsibility for their formal and informal (academic, social, cultural, physical and emotional) education themselves. This phenomenon, known as homeschooling, is a new concept in Catalonia (Spain) and is not regulated by educational law. This article sets out to discover more about the educational practices employed by families that homeschool their children in Spain. A qualitative study has been carried out using data obtained from 14 interviews and the analysis of five family blogs providing details of their day-to-day educational experiences. Despite the uniqueness of each family scenario, certain common traits could be identified. The parents take a great deal of responsibility for the education of their children. They have a comprehensive understanding of their children’s learning styles and select the relevant methodologies and curriculums that work best for them. In general, homeschooling families implement a practical and active approach to learning that is focused on the child, providing a style of education that is open to their immediate environment and to society. The results of the study suggest the potential for using homeschooling techniques as a source of inspiration for teachers and other families
ATMOSPHERIC PURIFICATION BY TIO2-COATED FIRED CLAY TILES: PARAMETRIC STUDY AND COMPARISON WITH OTHER BUILDING MATERIALS
Atmospheric pollution is a major environmental and health concern of the XXIst century. Yet, despite the countless international protocols aiming at reducing the emissions of air pollutants, the European regulatory thresholds are still too often exceeded. When it comes to atmospheric purification, photocatalytic coatings are known to be efficient. Besides, in France, two thirds of the roofs are built with fired clay tiles. Hence, this study is focusing on the ability of fired clay tiles, functionalized with a photocatalytic coating, to degrade NOx. More specifically, the impact of environmental factors on the dispersion and degradation of nitrogen dioxide (NO2), one of the main atmospheric pollutants, is evaluated. To that end, the influence of the initial NO2 concentration, light intensity, roof inclination and air circulation has been assessed, using TiO2-coated fired clay tiles. The performance of fired clay coated and uncoated tiles has also been compared to that of other frequently used building materials: concrete tiles, zinc boards, bitumen boards, shingle, glass tiles and raw earth bricks. NO2 degradation by the several tested materials has been determined, both under illumination and in the dark. All the experiments have been carried out in a dedicated sealed testing chamber. While results did not highlight a significant influence of the pollutant concentration on NO2 degradation rate, increasing light intensity led to greater degradation efficiency and allowing air circulation around the samples decreased the degradation rate. The comparative study emphasized the efficiency of coated fired clay tiles to photocatalytically degrade NO2, whereas the other tested materials, except for raw earth bricks, only exhibited adsorption properties
A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ENVIRONMENTAL AROUSAL CONTROL USING ILLUMINANCE AND PERFORMANCE BY TASK DIFFICULTY LEVEL
The relationship between human arousal state and task performance is mainly explained by the Yerkes-Dodson law. It means the law of optimal performance, which each individual performs the most in an appropriate level of arousal. Meanwhile, considering the difficulty conditions of the task, in general, difficult tasks are performed in a lower arousal state than easy tasks, while easy tasks are performed in a higher arousal state than difficult tasks. In addition, the state of human arousal can be adjusted through the illumination of the light. For example, when exposed to an environment with high illuminance, it is placed in an environmentally higher arousal state. Accordingly, in this study, a preliminary study was conducted to examine the changes in task performance caused by controlling the difficulty of the task while controlling the environmental arousal state using the illuminance of the lighting. As a result, it was found that the 3-back task, which is a relatively difficult task, tends to show a high task performance at 400 lx, which has a low environmental arousal state. On the other hand, it was found that the 2-back task, which is a relatively easy task, tends to have a high task performance at 1,000 lx, which has a high environmental arousal state. This can be interpreted as suggesting that the Yerkes-Dodson law considering the difficulty of the task can be sufficiently implemented according to the environmental arousal state controlled by utilizing the illuminance of LED lighting
THERMAL PROPERTIES OF POLYMER COMPOSITES FILLED WITH VARIOUS BIOPOLYMERS
For polymeric materials, the resistance to elevated or reduced temperatures is important. The thermal stability of a polymer determines its functional usability, and it is defined as a range of temperature, in which the polymer retains its elastic properties. The thermogravimetry was used for determination of thermal stability of biopolymers filled polymer composites. For observation of structural changes after the addition bio-fillers to polymer composites, the infrared spectroscopy was used. The most common biopolymers with interesting properties, which have been used as filler, are the cellulose, chitosan, galactomannan, starch and soy protein isolate. Natural rubber (NR) was blended with galactomannan (LBG), cellulose (CEL), chitosan (CHS) or soy protein isolate (SPI) as a filler in amount 0, 30 and 55 phr. The results indicate that the thermal degradation of NR/CEL, NR/CHS, NR/SPI and NR/LBG polymer composite in nitrogen is a three–step process. The first step is assigned the destruction of biopolymers. The second step is assigned to the decomposition of double bonds of methylene groups in polyisoprene molecules, i.e., to the decomposition of natural rubber. TOXICITY OF LEAF EXTRACTS FROM SCHINUS MOLLE L. ONTO RETICULITERMES FLAVIPES KOLLAR (ISOPTERA: RHINOTERMITIDAE)
The North American subterranean termite Reticulitermes flavipes Kollar (Isoptera: Rhinotermitidae) has a strong social and economic impact worldwide, damaging houses and wooden structures in urban environments, causing considerable losses. Infestation foci in central Chile in recent years have expanded. We evaluated the toxic effect of extracts from new leaves of Schinus molle L. (Anacardiaceae) onto R. flavipes. The extracts were prepared with two solvents, distilled water, and ethanol. The toxic effect of the extracts was evaluated by direct and indirect exposure tests, determining mortality caused by several concentrations, and analyzed with Anovas and Tukey multiple comparison tests, and Probit analysis to obtain the mean lethal concentrations (LC50). The extracts, particularly the ethanol one, had clear toxic effects on the termite, and increased with concentration. The least LC50 obtained on the 7th day after treatment was 0.59% w/v by direct exposure to the ethanolic extract. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the extracts on R. flavipes, so the leaves from S. molle could be used in biopesticide preparations for integrated management of this pest, previous field evaluation and economic studies
AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION AND TOURISM. LEGAL FRAMEWORK AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS. THE CASE OF GREECE
Agriculture and tourism are traditionally considered main pillars of the Greek economy. Interconnecting agriculture and tourism gives a boost to both economic sectors. Greek agricultural products such as olive oil, wine and specific cheese products are well known worldwide. They are exported to many countries and tourists want to experience their unique and authentic taste when they visit Greece. However, a significant part of the Greek rural population moved from the countryside to the urban centers. This phenomenon occurred because of socioeconomic changes, that happened in recent decades. Moreover, improvements of cultivation methods and production processes in agriculture also took place. This study examines the relationship between agricultural production and tourism. In particular, are examined the utilization of agricultural infrastructure for tourism purposes and the new trend for the development of organized agritourist services. The legal framework governing agritouristic enterprises is also examined. In particular, is elaborated licensing, certification, control, supervision and provided services, according to relevant law provisions, which were recently enriched by Greek law 4875/2021. Moreover, this study analyzes how special forms of tourism such as agrotourism and wine tourism boost the agricultural income. The contribution of agritourism in the creation of direct and indirect jobs and in retaining the economically active population in the countryside is demonstrated. In addition, focus is brought on the contribution of agritourism in the protection and promotion of agricultural environment. It is also examined how tourists are acquainted with traditional professions, with local cultivation methods of agricultural production and with local gastronomy and food tasting. It is also demonstrated how the customs, traditions and cultural elements of a place are interwoven with the identity and the brand name of agricultural products
EFFICACY AND SELECTIVITY OF DIFFERENT FORMULATIONS OF PENDIMETHALIN ON WEED CONTROL IN MAIZE
Due to its use in human food, livestock feed and as a raw material in industry, maize is one of the most important crops, both globally and nationally. Romania is one of the European leaders in corn cultivation, being ranked second in EU in 2020. The high degree of weed infestation of croplands requires the use of herbicides applied in an integrated weed control management. Due to the slow growth in the first 4-6 weeks, maize is very sensitive to weed infestation, and due to the low density per square meter, a strong competition in favor of weeds is created from the beginning. In this context, the paper presents data on the efficacy and selectivity of 3 different pendimethalin formulations (EC, SC, CS) applied in pre-emergence and in early post-emergence stage, when maize was at BBCH 13 (3 leaves unfolded). out in 2019 in Romania at Didactic Farm Moara Domnească, Ilfov county. on a brown reddish The herbicide Pendimethalin 33% EC was applied at 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 l/ha, Pendimethalin 40% SC at 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 l/ha and Pendimethaline 45.5% CS at 2.0, 2.5 and 3.5 l/ha. In experimental field the predominant weeds were annual monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous: Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) Beauv., Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop., Setaria sp. (L.) Beauv., Chenopodium album (L.), Amaranthus retroflexus (L.), Ambrosia artemisiifolia (L.) and Xanthium orientale subsp. italicum (Moretti) Greuter. Assessments made at 10, 28 and 42 days after treatments demonstrated a good efficacy of the different formulations of herbicide Pendimethalin in control of annual weeds in maize, the best results were obtained at the higher rates. No phytotoxicity symptoms have been shown in the trial
LONG-TERM ORGANIC FERTILIZATION AFFECTS SOIL PROPERTIES
A long-term small plot trial for the evaluation of organic fertilizers was established in Jeseníky Mountains in the Czech Republic. During ten years period the experiment was fertilized with organic fertilizers (compost, slurry) and was managed with cutting frequency 3 times per year. After ten years management this experimental plot was ceased and the grasslands were completely abandoned. We investigated the direct effect of organic fertilizers and residual effects of long-term organic fertilization on physical and chemical soil properties. After long-term organic fertilization, the increase of nutrients, soil organic carbon, pH was monitored. Furthermore, the residual concentrations of soil available nutrients were higher with organic fertilizers compared to the control. The same trend was observed for physical soil properties. For risk trace elements, there was no difference among treatments and there was no increase during years. In conclusion, the direct and residual effects of organic fertilizers were positive to soil nutrient increase and to ensure soil environmental function
A MODEL FOR FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION IN LEBANON
Financial literacy has become one of the most discussed topics in the field of behavioral finance as it has strong influences on people\u27s financial behaviors. Yet, the years long data shows that its rates are globally low. What\u27s even worse, is the fact that financial literacy education isn\u27t widespread all around the world specifically at schools. Lebanon is such a country in which financial education as a topic isn\u27t included in the official curriculum. In this research, I provide trainings to a set of schools with the majority of students coming from minority segments. The research is conducted in Lebanon\u27s central area, the Greater Beirut. I find that the students understanding of financial concepts is low and that cognitive abilities play a major role along with financial knowledge in shaping a good financial literacy
