How Artificial Intelligence Can Protect Financial Institutions From Malware Attacks
Get PDFThe objective of this study is to examine the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the security posture of financial institutions against malware attacks. The study identifies the current trends of malware attacks in the banking sector, assesses the various forms of malware and their impact on financial institutions, and analyzes the relevant security features of AI. The findings suggest that financial institutions must implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect against various forms of malware attacks, including ransomware attacks, phishing attacks, mobile malware attacks, APTs, and insider threats. The study recommends that financial institutions invest in AI-based security systems to improve security features and automate security tasks. To ensure the reliability and security of AI systems, it is essential to incorporate relevant security features such as explain ability, privacy, anomaly detection, intrusion detection, and data validation. The study highlights the importance of incorporating explainable AI (XAI) to enable users to understand the reasoning behind the AI's decisions and actions, identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in the AI system, and ensure that the system operates ethically and transparently. The study also recommends incorporating privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) into AI systems to protect user data from unauthorized access and use. Finally, the study recommends incorporating robust security measures such as anomaly detection and intrusion detection to protect against adversarial attacks and data validation and integrity checks to protect against data poisoning attacks. Overall, this study provides insights for decision-makers in implementing effective cybersecurity strategies to protect financial institutions from malware attacks

A Sentiment Analysis on the Resumption of Icc Investigation on the Philippine Drug War
Get PDFThe purpose of this sentiment analysis study was to explore the Face Threatening Acts (FTAs) on the sentiments of Filipino netizens regarding the resumption of the International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation of the Philippine government's drug war. This study employed qualitative design, specifically corpus linguistics and sentiment analysis. The findings revealed that most of the FTAs found in the sentiments of Filipino netizens are threats to the positive face and negative face of the hearer. The sentiments on the proposal to resume the ICC investigation of the Philippine drug war can be clustered into three essential themes or categories- attitude, call to action, and credibility. Additionally, the majority of the participants- Filipino netizens are negative towards the proposal to continue the investigation on the Philippine Government's war on drugs. Finally, the findings revealed that Filipino netizens employ various face-threatening acts in expressing their sentiments and opposition to the ICC probe on the Philippine drug war, thereby highlighting the intricate interplay of politeness theory in shaping public sentiment on this contentious issue

While the suspect responds to a series of questions, the system will observe the motions of the facial muscles and the rate at which their eyes blink. The Eye-Opening Ratio is used to determine the eye-opening in each frame. An approach that makes use of human behaviors to identify deception has been proposed here. In order to assess whether a candidate is being dishonest during an interrogation and come up with a conclusion about them, the system will do face detection and an eye blink calculation. During an interrogation session, the interrogator can use this result to assist them in doing an analysis of the blink threshold value and locating the lie. In the future, developments could include thermal monitoring, which would involve collecting video of the suspect while they are answering questions during interrogation. This video would then be used in conjunction with face detection and eye blink rate to provide a more in-depth analysis of the suspect's dishonest behavior
