The Effectiveness of a Six-Dimensional Strategy in Developing the Skills of Analyzing the Historical Event Among Secondary School Students
No full textThe study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a six-dimensional strategy in developing the skills of analyzing the historical event among secondary school students. The study subjects were intentionally selected from Dar Al-Salam School affiliated to the Marka District Education Directorate in the capital, Amman, during the academic year (2021/2022). The study members were randomly distributed to an experimental group and a control group, with (22) female students in each group. The study tool was prepared, which is: a test in the skills of analyzing the historical event. The researcher verified the validity and reliability of the test. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the average scores of female students of the study sample for the control and experimental groups on the test of the skills of analyzing the historical event in the post-measurement and in favor of the experimental group, which indicates the effectiveness A six-dimensional strategy in developing the skills of analyzing the historical event among secondary school students. In the light of the results, the study recommended the need to employ a six-dimensional strategy in the subject of teaching history for the secondary stage

Assessment of Upper Basic Education Curriculum Implementation in Banditry Vulnerable Areas of Katsina State
No full textThe research assessed the implementation of Upper Basic Education Curriculum in vulnerable areas of Katsina state. The population comprised five hundred and seventy six (576) teachers of upper basic school, forty five (45) principals and ninety (90) School Based Management Committee (SBMC) members. Using the research advisors sampling table, the sample of the research stands as two hundred and seventeen (217) teachers, forty four (44) principals and eighty (80) School Based Management Committee members. Five objectives to guide the study were formulated which consequently led to the designing of five research questions. One null hypothesis that centred on curriculum implementation was developed in congruence with the objectives and research questions. A four fingered Likert Scale Questionnaire was developed with twenty (20) items. Mean and standard deviation in the descriptive data were presented. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test the hypothesis. The findings revealed that the null hypothesis was rejected to infer variation in the respondents opinions in all the five areas of curriculum implementation. It also showed that insecurity constituted a great challenge for curriculum implementation as pupils, teachers could not attend schools regularly. The study recommended among other things proactive measures by security personnel in tackling the challenges, developing appropriate pedagogical strategies of teaching and facilitating good learning environment
Impact of Climate Change on University Administration in Nigeria
No full textThe objectives of this study is to find out the impact of climate change on university administration in Nigeria North-central political zone, Nigeria. The study adopted survey method. The population of the study was made up of academic staff and non-academic staff of public universities in the zone. Purposive sampling method was used to select the respondents. Questionnaire was used as data collecting instrument in the study. The questionnaire was titled (Impact of climate change on university administration in Nigeria Questionnaire). Reliability obtained was established at 0.86 and 0.88 respectively using the Kinder Richardson Formula. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics of mean, and standard deviation. The result collected sowed that climate change (heavy rains and floods) have led to suspension of university administration, prevented universities’ administrators from going to offices and increases the administrative cost of the universities in the of repairs and reconstruction of damages facilities. The result also revealed that climate change (heavy rains and floods) affected teaching, research and community service programme of the universities. The result also disclosed that climate change (heavy rain/floods) destroyed universities infrastructural facilities, disrupts energy, water and internet service supply in the universities in North-central Nigeria

Curriculum Innovation, Instructional Strategy and School Governance on the Technical Competency of On-the-Job Trainees
Get PDFThe primary objective of the study was to identify the fundamental elements influencing the technical competency of trainees prior to the on-the-job training (OJT) program. These factors were examined in connection with innovations in curriculum innovations, instructional strategies and school governance. The study utilized a research design characterized as descriptive-correlation research. Pearson product-moment correlation was utilized to determine the extent of connection between curriculum innovation, instructional strategy, and school governance on trainees’ technical competency. Forever, a regression analysis was conducted to ascertain extent which specific variable most accurately predicted trainees’ technical competency. The findings demonstrated that universities and colleges had fully integrated curriculum innovations to enhance the technical competency of trainees. They had also formulated effective instructional strategies, while school governance ensured the complete implementation of OJT program. As a result, trainees exhibited a significantly proficient technical competency even before commencing the OJT program. This suggests that stronger oversight and collaboration between higher education institutions and host training establishment lead to superior outcomes in terms of technically skilled graduates, thereby facilitating optimal job alignment and the cultivation of highly capable graduates in the future. The study underscored the direct relationship between collaborative efforts, evaluation processes, monitoring mechanisms, and the enhancement of trainee’s technical competency
